Yea! Hope we make a positive connect here. If I have the correct person, Narcissa L Stewart married Gilpin, had one son, he was killed in CSA (I had assumed that) and she married a John Nelson aka John aka Nelson Rice. Their eldest child, Laura E Rice, married John Potter who was my g-g-grandfather on my father's mother's side. I'm glad to find out her maiden name, it had eluded me.

They are all on the ship. Ardelia, Sinibaldo, the brothers and the sisters. You can also see a picture of the ship and look at the manifest where they signed their names. Very cool

Let me know if this information fits any of you Lucca Andreotti's.
I want to update the information reguarding my Andreotti family. My grandfather Fausto Andreotti came to America originally in 1895 from Btui in the Lucca provance. He arrived at Ellis Island on October 7, 1895 aboart the ship La Touraine he was 22 years old and listed his occupation as a "minor". He returnd a second time on October 8, 1903 with my grandmother Aecesti (maiden name FUNAI) sailing in on the Lombardia he listed his occupation at that time as a shoemaker and he was 30 years old. On both accounts he left Ellis Island to meet a firend in Washington DC and stayed there to the best of my knowledge. My father was born in Washington DC in 1908.

My father had several brothers and sisters but I only know the names of two sisters. Rena G Wiegand that moved to Richmond Virginia and Sylvia (?) she lived in Maryland and her husband worked in Washington DC.

My Father's family came from a small town in Italy called Buti. My father's name was Andreotti and his mother's name was Ester Funai and father name was Fausto Andreotti.
in the Lucca

I would love to hear from anyone that has any information on Andreotti or Funai family.
e-mail praking@juno.com
Hi Ariana, I gave your dad pictures of Dave and Elio as little boys and one of a bunch of adults and a little boy, Dave, the lady pregnant is Ardelia expecting Elio. When Ardelia died at the age of 28 of appendicitis, Dave was 8 and Elio 4. I have done all the research on the family, my dad, Dave and your grandpa knew nothing. One of these days I'm going to go over there and see what I can find out. I do know that Ardelia (pregnant with Dave) and Sinibaldo came over on a ship through Ellis Island in New York. They went directly to Roseville and my dad was born.

My son, Michael Bryan Gilpin (b 1952) is related to you. His great great grandfather was Leonidus, who was wounded and died during the Civil War. This Leonidus and Narcissa had two boys. Narcissa married again and moved to Texas. Her son, Leonidus, married Roxie Leah, from Smith County, Texas. Leonidus had about twelve children, from two wives. Roxie and Leonidus (called Lee) had my son's great grandfather, Louis Clay Gilpin. I married and quickly divorced Louis's son, Louis Clayton Gilpin (called Clayton). Clayton married again. His second wife (his widow) is Sue Gilpin. They have two sons and a daughter, and several grandchildren. Clayton is my son's father.

They had 3 sons, William, Robert, and Alfred. My husband's grandfather was Alfred and he was born in America and went back to Italy when he was little. From what I understand, they are from the Lucca area. I would love to talk with anyone with anything. You never know what you will find

Andreotti - di Capannori, Lucca Italy

I'm trying to trace my great-great-grandparents, Angela & ??? Galli and ?? & ?? Andreotti. I believe they're all from Colle di Capannori (spelling?) Lucca, Italy area.

I have some information on my great-grandparents, Francesco (Frank) J. Andreotti (b.3/7/1873) and Vitala Galli Andreotti (b. 6/15/1883) (and children Michelina [Lena] & Giorgio [George] -my grandfather) immigrated to the US from Colle di Capannori (spelling?), Lucca, in July 1906 & June 1908 respectively. Frank and Vitala had three more children who were born in the States - Angeline, Vera and Eugene. Also, I understand either Francesco or Vitala had a brother, Michele who also came to the US in the late 1800s or early 1900s, but died in the floods(?) of Galveston, TX around 1904 or so....

I'd really like to learn more about my great-great grandparents so if anyone has some information that seems to fit with what I've described, I would appreciate hearing from you!
I know your message is old but my grandfathers name was George (Giorgio). His parents, my great grandparents were Frank (Francesco) and Vitala from Lucca. My Grandfather came to the states with his mom and sister Michelina (known as Lina) in 1908. Lina is still alive and lives in Texas, she is 95. I know there were other siblings born in the U.S. I am just starting this research and hope to find other relations.
My mother is Jean or Jeanne (Andreotti), she had two brothers, George jr. and Ronald (Bud), my uncles, both have past away.
I want to update the information reguarding my Andreotti family. My grandfather Fausto ANDREOTTI came to America originally in 1985 from Btui in the Lucca provance.

Hi--just came upon this website and noticed your posting. My father is Guido Salvadore Andreotti, his fathers name was Guiseppe. They immigrated from Switzerland to the USA (between 1905-1910) and lived in El Centro Calif. I know that Guido had 3 brothers and a sister all of whom were born in the US. One of his brothers, Andrew, is alive and lives in El Centro. A sister lives in Idaho, and her name is now Ella Hayes. I dont have any info on the rest of the family. Hope this helps and if we are in someway related would love to correspond.
