I am sorry I am just now responding. I didn't see this post until now.
I am sure there is a connection, for there weren't many Angs in New Albany that were not related. What is his great-grandmother's full name?
I have come across some very interesting family information regarding the Angs from New Albany. I was recently able to look at some records at the National Archives in Washington DC.

My name is Ron Ang and not of Asian Descent. I have been trying to research my heritage with very limited info. You may have some info tied to my name. My husband and I are researching his family tree. We found out his great grandmother's last name was Russell-Ang and were from New Albany, IN. Wondering if there is a connection.

I have a photo of an infant named Leona Ellen Ang. Probably taken in the early 1900s. It was in a collection of photos inherited from my great-grandparents, Frank and Katharina Klaus Clark of Nebraska. Would like to be able to pass this along to a direct family member.

I have come across some information on these ancestors. They lived in Indiana in the 1800's. I don't think they had Asian heritage. I have pictures and would love to correspond with someone on this.
