Hi Vera,
I came across a listing of children born to John Anglin (1750-1836) and his first wife, Jamina (1760-1808), they had a daughter by the name of Malinda. John and Jamina were married in 1775.
John Anglin is my great-great-great-great grandfather. John and Jamina both died in Tennessee. John was born in Virginia and Jamina was born in South Carolina.
John's second wife was Elizabeth Carver, they married in 1809. John and Elizabeth had five children, Aaron, Lydia, William, Mary Polly and Cornelius. Cornelius is my great-great-great grandfather.
This may possibly be who you are looking for. Cornelius Anglin moved from South Carolina to Hickman, TN as listed in the 1860 census. Malinda would have been his half sister.
Hope this helps.
Hi - My husband has a great great Grandmother, Kathryn (Anglin) Blacksher who lived and died in Henry County, Alabama. She was born in Georgia and married Randolph Blackshear in Putnam County, Georgia about 1812.

Her grandfather, James Anglin, came to Wilkes County, Georgia from North Carolina. He died in Wilkes County. He had a sons named John, Henry, David and William. Our Kathryn is a daughter of William. His son, John, was born 1752 in Augusta County, Virginia and died about 1830 in Henry County, Alabama. He had several children. James Anglin was born in County Cork, Ireland.

I do not have a Clarence Anglin in my data base but that does not mean there is not one that I don't have. I just wanted to run this by you to see if there may be some connection.

Yes, I have seen all of the movies, documentaries and all that has bee out there. Several T.V stations have been out, for interviews with the family. There is a book out called Riddle of The Rock, by Don Denevi. It has pictures of all the family. My husband was a brother to John & Clarence. I have been in the family since 1956. I knew them very well.
They were guys you would not believe, would do any thing like that. We know they got away, because we got Christmas cards from them at Christmas time, only the signature was Joe & Jerry. Of course they would not sign their real names, the family would have got in trouble.
We got all the pictures that they had on them when they left Alcatraz.

I just heard from an Anglin friend who does a lot with the genealogy and DNA tests to connect which family each of us belongs to. She said she had talked to your husband at one point about doing the DNA test, which just involves a cheek swab. He agreed then changed his mind. We'd love to be able to see how each of the families lines up. I belong to group 2. Do you think any of Robert's male relatives - son or brother - would be willing to do the test? It would be great if they would. Ella

This family is from Colquitt, Ga. I have been in the family since 1956. They were wonderful guys. I use to do all of John's laundry. He was quite the lady's guy. You would never believe they would be someone that would do something like this. I was married to, next to the oldest brother, Robert, who has since passed away. I was the one that heard the broadcast that they had escaped from Alcatraz. I lived next door to the parents. I did all of their mothers corresponce to the boys. We had just visited the brother, Alfred, in Kilby prison,in May before they escaped.

I know this is responding to an old post but I am curious about the Lebanon, Tn. location. My gggrandfather was in Lebanon,Tn. in the early 1850's both he and his wife, Caroline Green Anglin died in 1858. I believe James was born in Tenn. and Aaron Anglin was his father.
If there are any Anglin's in that area that know anything about my gggrandfather and gggrandmother, I would love to hear from them. I do have some info. and am willing to share.
Wanda

By living in Chambers County, Texas it is possible that you may descend from William, the son of James Anglin of Wilkes County, Georgia. My husband descends from this line. Can you contact me privately at vjadams@att.net with your lineage down from James of Wilkes County, Georgia. I have information that William most likely died in Chambers County, Alabama. Our ancestor was his daughter, Kathryn, who married Randolph Blackshear in georgia and move to Henry County, Alabama about 1823. She died there. I'll be excited to hear from you.

Valerie Adams

Looking for descendants of Robert Joseph Anglin born 4 April 1924 in Chicago, Cook Co, Illinois to a mother Edith (maiden name unknown), father unknown Anglin. Robert J. is found on the 1930 census of Queens Co NY in the home of his mother Edith and stepfather Jack Pezrow (Pesorosky). Robert J. spent some of his childhood in an orphanage before joining the Navy and serving in WWII. I believe Robert J. had a son named Robert (birthdate unknown but likely between 1940-1950, place unknown). Looking for the son. Robert J. born 1924 lived in Salem, New Hampshire from 1968 until his death in 2005. Where is his son???
Also interested in any info on Jack Pezrow (Jacob David Pesorosky) born about 1898 in Russia. He is believed to have died early, but where and when? Likely in N.Y., Boston, or Chicago.
All leads and help appreciated. Email j.bulach@comcast.net
