Pearl died October 19, 1909 in Boston, MA.
Her parents were William K Annis and Mary Henderson.

Your grandfathers name was Richard emmett annis, your uncle's name was Richard david, and if you remember, you have an aunt that now lives in florida, not that far from you i guess.

I am looking for the parents for Sarah H Annis and her husband Charles P Reed. She was born about 1816 in Bath, NH. He was born about 1812 in Northfield, MA. In 1832, they were married in Albany, VT. In 1850, they are in Winchester, NH. Charles died 13 Oct 1887 in Winchester, NH. Sarah died between 1880 and 1887.

Their children are:
Lydia A Reed, born May 1835 in VT
Rosetta B Reed, born about 1837 in VT and died 21 Jan 1855 in Boston, MA
Eliza S Reed, born 11 Aug 1841 in Randolph, VT and died 13 Jun 1914 in Winchester, NH
Estina C Reed, born 23 Mar 1845 in Randolph, VT and died 21 Mar 1905 in Winchester, NH
Charles Franklin Reed, born 7 May 1856 in (Ashuelot) Winchester, NH and died 13 Jan 1937 in Wendell, MA

I found my connection to Retta Ruth (Annis) Stapleton. She was the daughter of Joseph and Eliza Jane (Upton) Annis, born in Gibson County, 1892. Husband, Ebert, is the son of Joshua and Lucy (Pearson) Stapleton and great-grandson of the Joshua who fought in the Battle of Tippecanoe.

Hi Margaret! Are you still actively researching this line?

As you know, I am researching any Foster who resided in Benton, Henry, St. Clair or Morgan Counties in Missouri prior to 1850. Adrian William Foster qualified as he had several children (including Sarah) born in Benton County in the 1840's.

As we have gathered information so far it appears Sarah was not descended from the same line as Stephen Collins Foster which began in North America with Alexander Foster who immigrated from Londonderry, Ireland in the 1780's. Instead, her line is from a Richard Foster that immigrated to North America in 1635.

It would be great to compare notes again as it has been awhile since we touched base.

I know my grandparents were Richard David Annis married to Barbara E. but that is all the information I can find on them. My father was Bruce Annis, but gave up his parental rights when I was young. It would be nice to find out about them. I know that Richard was born around 1914 and died around 1985. Barbara was born around the same time and died around 1995.

I am looking for some help in finding out more about the Annis side of my family. This is all that I have been able to find.

Great grandfather - George Edmond Annis
Born in 1897 in Arkansas
Had at least 1 brother named Albert Aniis that was born in 1893 in Nebraska
His mother was born in Alabama, father in Tennessee

George's first wife's name was Aquilla Kelly (Annis)
Born in 1899 and passed away in 1943
Had several siblings named Laretta, Ova, Alpha, Venon and Ersel

I believe George and Aquilla had at least 3 kids named Ethna May, Austin and Riley

George's second wife's name was Ida Beatrice Baker

George's first wife's name was Aquilla Kelly
Born in 1908

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

I am also researching this family. Since I see this post is over 8 years old I was wondering if you have had any luck? I am trying to find information on Ida's sister Mary Olive.
I have that Mary Olive maried James Campbell in 1861 Wheatland Co, Badax, Wisconsin. They had William 1862, Catharine 1864, George 1866, Arglye 1868 and Sarah (sadie) 1869. Ida and another sister Ada (adalaide?) were living with Mary and James in 1870 in WI.

I do have some info for Sarah Campbell's decendants.

I have nothing for James Campbell and not sure on the info I have seen for Mary's parentage.

I have Annis and Stapleton families in my tree in early Gibson County, Indiana, but I cannot seem to place Retta Annis who married Elbert Roy Stapleton. They were born in the late 1800's and are buried in Francisco. Any help tracing these two back a couple generations would be appreciated. I have no connection to this family. I am just posting info. I have come across while volunteering at the historical society. I have discovered the hard way that within a certain span of time, if you don’t have the date and place of death, it’s hard to track someone down.

Some of the names that appear to be maiden names may very well be married names and the other name given be the maiden name – at least it tells you a date and place of death – a good starting point. This is all the info. I have on these people although I do have a number of vital record books for the Knox County (Maine) area and would be willing to do a quick lookup or two. I am typing in literally hundreds of these entries so please be as specific as possible if you need a lookup.

Annie R. (Annis) Pease died May 17, 1893 in Rockland, Maine. She was the wife of Melville O. Pease. She was born in Camden, Maine, daughter of George and Martha H. Annis. George was born in Camden and Martha in Deer Isle. Annie is buried in Camden.

Joanna Caroline Thorndike Annis died August 28, 1921 in Rockport, Maine. She is buried at the Amesbury Hill Cemetery in Rockport.

Sylvia N. Webster Annis died September 28, 1900 in Brockton, Mass. She is buried in the Achorn Cemetery in Rockland, Maine.

I'm hoping that someone can help me with the ancestry of the Catherine Thomas who married Daniel Annis on 1 Aug 1732 in Newbury, Essex, MA.

Daniel was born 1 Dec 1711 to Abraham and Hannah (Badger) Annis and died about 1790 in Warner, Merrimack, NH. I think Catherine was born about 1712 and I don't know when she died.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

You show a connection on your tree to my maternal great grand parents Clifford Henry Baughman 1862-1930 and wife Minnie Viola Annis 1869-1928 and their daughter , my maternal grandmother, Hazel Mae Baughman 1889-1948. I am now courious about your connection to my line. Are we cousins and how do you fit into this blood line? I have quite a bit on the Annis line and am willing to share but limited on the Baughman side but interested in finding out more about the ancestors.

My father is Alton Desford Annis born July 11, 1888 the records i have found disagree as to the year, he was born in poke county wisconsin.

His parents names; Edward H. Annis and Maybell Jane
the records has many spellings "Belle" "May" "Maybelle" "Mabel")

His siblings; Norris Annis born in 1879, Lewis George born in 1884, Eva born in 1890 may have been born in another state.

Lt. Harvey Annis, an ex-soldier, is listed as a passenger on the Sultana. He is listed among the dead.

Bell Annis, Harvey's daughter is also listed among the dead.

Anna Annis, Harvey's wife is listed as a survivor.

On April 27, 1865, the steamship Sultana exploded on the Mississippi River in what remains the greatest maritime disaster in American. Over 1600 passengers, mostly Union soldiers recently released from Confederate prison camps, were killed either in the explosion, from drowning, or fire.
