Hi, I know this thread is a bit old but I was going through some items I bought at a yardsale a few years ago that contained some old pictures. They appeared to have come from long beach island nj possibly ship bottom. Anyway, some of the pictures were labeled and are from early 1910s, 1920s etc. Some of the names on the pictures are: Maude App Stone b. morristown, nj d. colorado. There were some other names such as william haines, fred haines, hannah budd, etc. Couple from a house in long beach island nj address 107 27th street Ship Bottom NJ. There was also an Eva Haines App and Leon App. Are any of these in your line?

v/r
Ken Chaney

I, too, descend from Michael App but my line is through Anna Maria App, sister to Mathias. She married Leonard Heasley (there were many variations of the spelling). They died in Westmoreland County but some of their offspring went to Venango County also. I also show the Sept 23, 1752 date. I'm looking for information on Michael App's first wife, Elizabeth Polsie (as I have seen her referred to). I don't know where the info comes from - have heard that Mathia's brother Frederick had a bible record. Do you know where documents can be found about Elizabeth? I know when she died and is buried but only reference is to Elizabeth App.
Thanks for your help
Jane Gray

I believe there is a Michael App in Lancaster County and a Michael App in Northampton County PA at the same time as indicated by the following events. Is anyone certain which immigration record, spouse names, etc are attributable to which?

Lancaster County:
1776 Michael App (Ensign in the PA Musket Battalion) appointed 20th March, wounded & taken prisoner at Long Island 27 Aug 1776, exchanged 9th Dec 1776.
1777 Michael App (Capt)
1781 Michael App (Pvt) 8th Battalion, Class 3
1782 Michael App 8th Battalion, 2nd Company, Class 3
1790 census Michael App
1790 census Christian App

Northampton County:
1773 & 1775 Communion records Stone Church near Kreiderville
1773 Michael App, Elisabetha, Johann Frederick, Johann Michael, Anna Marie
1775 Michael App, Elisabetha, Johann Michael, Anna Marie

1776 (August 6) at Amboy, Michael App (Pvt), 1st Battalion
1779 Tax list - Michael App 150 acres/weaver; Frederick App/weaver.
1780 census, Michael App + Frederick App + Matthias App
1781-1791 records of births to Frederick App & spouse + Mattheus App & spouse.
1783 (March 3) 3rd Batallion, 7th Company, Lehigh Twp - Frederick App (Corporal); Michael App (2nd class); Matthew App (5th class).
1790 census, Michael Upp + Frederick Upp + Matthias Upp
1800 census, Frederick App + Matthias App
1809 (5th Aug) Michael App will processed - names Elisabeth Hanna nee Scholl as wife. Written in old German script and cannot read all. See son Frederick named as well as Leonard Hisley (spouse of Michael App's daughter Anna Marie App).

I am descended from Anna Marie (App) Heasley who I am certain came from Northampton County PA where her spouse Leonard Heasley (Hisley, Hauslli, etc)served in the Rev. War as well as the App family. I am trying to sort out which records I'm seeing on the various Message Boards are correctly belonging to Michael App of Northampton. Can you help me?
Jane
I am the greatgranddaughter of Adam App. He was married to a woman named Sophie. They had four sons--Adam, George, Philip and Charles. I believe he was born in Phila. and died in the early 1950's. He ran a coal and ice business called Adam App and Sons located in Phila. My grandfather was George Washington App. Also born in Phila. and died in 1969. He lived in Yeadon, PA. and was married to a Grace Lindwurm. They had two children: George Adam App, Sr. and Grace Elizabeth App. Both are still living. George Adam App, Sr. is my father. I am trying to track down the ancestors of Adam App. We believe it to be German ancestry, but are not sure. Thanks.
