Hi,

Still researching my husband's Arch line although I now am researching 1 generation back from my previous posting on this board.

I'm looking for anyone who is related to or has information on Charles Henry Arch, b:1866 in Bloxwich. Parents names are James Arch who died in 1922 in the Walsall district & Caroline (possibly Birch) who died in 1927 also in the Walsall district.
James & Caroline (as far as I know) had 4 children: Charles Henry b:1866; James b:1870; Sarah Elizabeth b:1873 & Annie b:1888.

Charles Henry Arch married Annie Welsh in 1888 in Wolverhampton. Together Charles Henry & Annie had 13 children although I am only able to find 8 of them, their names are: Caroline b:1888; Annie b:1893; Sarah Elizabeth (aka Lizzie) b:1894; James b:1898 & died 1918 in France; Ada b:1900; Hannah b:1904; Charles Arthur b:1909 & William John b:1912.

Charles Henry died in 1948 in Walsall & I'm still searching for a death for Annie Arch (nee:Welsh). I've also been told that the men in this Arch family were very active in the Coal Minor's Union.

Sally Middler Arch, 96, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. She was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Mikolic Middler. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Irwin and its Christian Mothers. Sally was recently honored as an 80-year member of the SNPJ Lodge 87 of Herminie. Sally will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose life centered around her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley L. Arch; and four brothers, Joseph, John, Frank and Anthony Middler. Surviving are a son, Larry Arch and his wife, Lisa, of Herminie; a daughter, Judy Cecchett and her husband, Lou, of Greensburg; five grandchildren, Lori Coleman and her husband, Paul, Larry Arch, Lynsey Benton and her husband, Patrick, Christine Okonak and her husband, Tom, and Tracy Mueller and her husband, Richard; four great-grandchildren, Laurel, Lily Kate, Ellie and Sadie; a sister, Mary Gaetjens, of New York; and her dear friend, Don Detar. It was Sally's request that there be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of St. Anne Home for their compassionate care they extended to Sally during the years she resided there. I only recently received William j arch;s marriage cert & found that his fathers name was Charles Henry Arch born in 1866 in Bloxwich. By the time William married, Charles was already noted as an old age pensioner.

Does the name Charles Henry ring any bells for you?

Charles William Arch and Sarah Marie Grinolds are my great-grandparents. Their children were Maud Luella, Mabel Gertrude, William Riley, Ida Elmira, Cecil Lamont, Laura May, George Albert, Fred Monroe, Theodore Franklin, and Della Lucretia. Fred was my grandfather. My great-grandfather was Charles William Arch, born in Randolph, Columbia, Wisconsin on 2 August 1861 and died 9 February 1908 in New Salem, Morton, North Dakota. He was married to Sarah Marie Grinolds on 3 September 1881 in Blue Earch, Fairbault, Minnesota. The remarkable life of Bette Arch ended peacefully on Sunday May 15th 2011 at Pomona Valley Hospital in Pomona,Ca. after a brief illness. Born Jan 1 1919 in New Mexico Beatrice Amanda Paxton was the youngest child of Frank and Pauline Paxton. Her father was a Rough Rider under Teddy Roosevelt during the Spanish American War. Her other, blind from childhood, led a full independent life. In 1942 Bette married B-24 pilot Major Clyde Gray, she was train in the Women's Air Force Service Program when Clyde was killed in action in 1944. She learned to fly before learning to drive. In 1945 Bette married Capt. Clifford J. Arch. They raised 2 sons Steve and Jeff in Covina,California. Bette was a librarian at Traweek and Lark Ellen schools and taught synchronized swimming to a generation of neighborhood kids. In retirement she enjoyed caring for grandchildren, Chris and Alicia. After Clifford death she lived in Tucson next door to sister and lifelong best friend Peggy, Bette returned to California in 2010 after the birth of great grandchild Chloe and was in good health until her last 10 days. She was preceded in death by husband Clyde Gray and husband of 52 years Clifford J Arch. She is survived by sister Margaret Hopkins of Oro Valley Arizona, son Steve Arch (Heidi) of San Dimas,Ca., grandson Chris Arch (Ariana) of Pomona, granddaughter Alicia Brandy (Tom) and great granddaughter Chloe of Fontana,Ca.

Died 1913 in Iowa. By the way, Charles Henry Arch is full name. William Ansley Arch is full name. Charles was my grandfather, William my grandfather, and John my greatgrand father. They had two sons:

Charles Henry Arch son of William Ansley Arch son of John Dickerson Arch. Charles Henry Arch,son of William Ansley Arch, was the only son. He did have four sisters. Charles Henry Arch was the only son of William Ansley Arch. He did have three or four sisters. He, Charles Henry Arch, was married about four times. In these marriages he had about 9 children. His oldest son, by his first marriage, was Arthur Charles Arch. He was my father. I have most of the names of Charles Henry wives and thier chidren. Also the dates of many things. I am attempting to obtain information on Henry Wilkes Arch children. From my understanding he had 6 kids. Does anybody have any information children? My grandfather was Wilson Leo Arch and I have most (still working) of all his descendants. However I am missing information on his brothers and sisters. Does anybody have anything to share?

I would like to introduce myself as Robert Arch (Freddy Arch cousin). This week I have working on a family tree for my Arch family. I will eventually publish on this website what I have come up with but I want to try to acquire more information.

I would like to introduce myself as Robert Arch (Freddy Arch cousin). This week I have working on a family tree for my Arch family. I will eventually publish on this website what I have come up with but I want to try to acquire more information.

This is my understanding of how we are related.
Your great great grandfather was Henry Wykes ARCH. Below is the 6 kids he had.

My great grant aunt's name was Maude Nemheart. Maude sibling's names are Julia Nemheart, Reginald Nemheart, "Pollie" (we don't know his real name) Garbutt and Katherine Jex.

Is it possible that Maude's married name is Arch. Maude's mother's name was Ann. Her maiden name is Ann Ford. Did Maude have a half sister named Katherine (or Kathryn) Jex.

Ann died in Cortes, Honduras and is buried there.

Hope there is some connection.

Well, you have some informaton correct, but have confused some data from my father and grandfather. My father Clifford J. Arch was born in Litchfield Township, MI on April 17, 1920. He died on March 23, 1997. His father (my grandfather)John Roy Arch died in 1971.

My mother's name is Bette and she is still alive at 89. Thanks for the names of your great grandfather William Ansley Arch. This is helpful. I am trying to find out who my grandfather's siblings were. Did John Roy have brothers and sisters?

your father was born in 1920 in MI. and died in 1971 in MI. Judge Charles O. Arch was born in 1899 MI. and his father was William F. Arch. My name is James A. Arch and was name after my great grand father William Ansley Arch. There are two lines of Arches. Your line comes after the line of John Arch and I come after the line of Thomas Arch. I believe your mother's name is Bette or Betty.

Is the Charles Arch you are asking about has a middle name of Henry? If yes, he was my grandfather. Please contact me. I have records that go back to 1374. The arches and their spouses.

Hi Bryan have just seen your message on the board .I was looking at another branch to see if there was a match. but there was a Joseph Arch born in Kettering Northants, worked and married in Old Windsor. He Married Annie Maiden Unknown and I only found one child a Christine C Arch. I have info on his mother and father. Hope this is of some use.

I just stumbled upon your message to Betty from last year and had to reply. I have your grandfather's obit in my copy of "Anatomy of a Murder". My late father was named Clifford J. Arch, and was born near Hillsdale, MI in 1920. His father was John Arch. My given name is Charles, and was told as a kid that I was named after Judge Charles O. Arch. I am under the impression my father was a nephew or grand nephew of your grandfather, but I could be way off. Just thought I'd let you know!

The information I have references Laura Schoonover Grinolds, who was married to John R. Grinolds (Wells, MN). One of their children was Frank Richard Grinolds who married Emma Shaw (Blue Earth, MN). They had 7 children that I know of. One of these children was my great grandmother.
