I am not part of this family but I came across some V-Mail that was sent to Mrs. Petra M Armendariz in Los Angles, CA from her nephew R.L. Lucero, who was stationed aboard the USS Cascade during WWII. If anyone is part of this family or knows how I can contact them please let me know so I can see if they would like me to send them the information.

Armendariz from Hidalgo Del Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico

Hello,

I'm looking for my Armendariz ancestors, if anyone has any info, that would be great!

My grandfather was Francisco Armendariz, born in Hidalgo Del Parral, Chihuahua, Mex. in 1908. He was the third child of eight, all born in Mex. and the the latter three born in California. He died in Orange, California in 1961.

His parents were Francisco (born 1882-Mex.) and Victoria (Martinez) Armendariz (born 1884-Mex.). After that, I have no other information and would greatly appreciate any help. I've spent countless hours searching the LDS site, Ancestry.com, Geneology.com, etc...with only dead ends.

Thanks,

Elizabeth

Hi. Just found your post and was on the phone with my friend Veragail who was having me look up stuff on her family tree. Her paternal name is Armendariz and was originally from the Basque area of Spain and immigrated to the Chihuhua, Mexico area quite some time ago (probably during the Inquisition) and finally ended up in Orange County, CA. I don't know if they are any relation but could be. Her father's first name was Vincent. If you are still looking for links to your family and want to talk to her, send me a note with your phone number and I'll have her call you.

Andrea

Alberto Armendariz is son of Martin and Dioncicia Armendariz. Martin was brother of Gregorio Armendariz (your grand uncle) both sons of Cipriano and Marcelina Armendariz. It's kind of confusing beause two males of the family married two females of the Romero family (first cusins). The Gregorio name is used over and over and so is Martin. Fausto Romero Armendariz was my uncle. He lived in Tijuana and passed on in the eighties. (natural causes)

Our grand parents were Martin and Dionicia Armendariz. Great grandparents Marcelina and Cipriano Armendaiz. Great, great grandfather Saturnio Armendariz.
I am now in the process of researching our family history as well. My fathers siblings were Nicolas, Martin, Jesusita, Basilisa, Lorenzo, Alberto, "Gregorio", and Fausto.

I am trying to find some information on my family. All I know is that my grandfather was born in Chihuahua, not sure of what city or town. His name is Ernesto Armendariz Mendoza and his parents were Emilio Armendariz and Gregoria Mendoza. He was born in September 29, 1944 or 1945. I was raised in Villa Ocampo, Durango, which is not far from Valle de Allende.

I think that she was an only child.

Yes, pump your grandma for information and write it down to keep getting confused later on. Now Marcelina's family and my ggfather were from around Santa Cruz de Rosales, which is very close to Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico.

ramon mynes armendariz was my grandfather. i believe mynes came from his mother who was jewish/armenian from my understanding. both my father and brother bear the name ramon but i don't think that there is a romero :(

my great grandfather serapio armendariz (who is the relative i can trace back the furthest with the name armendariz) should have had the last name carrasco. it was his mother who was armendariz. but there was some falling out with her husband who's last name is carrasco and is, i guess my great great grandfather, and she left him and gave her children her own last name of armendariz.

i'm going to have to talk some more to my grandma...these details get all sticky and confusing LOL. but you are right, a great deal of armendarizes seemed to have settled in chihuahua after leaving europe.

Angelica,I have a Ramón Armendariz in my family tree. He was my uncle. However, if Mynes is you dad's mother's maiden name, then mine is Romero. So, I don't think that we may come from the same branch.

It has been interesting that almost all of the Armendariz's that I have talked all started in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Mine came from San Buenavertura, Chihuahua and around Chihuahua city for the earlier family.

Most of my branch are in Mexico. they all seemed to have drifted back to Mexico around the '20s from Clifton, Arizona. My brother is in Los Angeles and his son is in Portland. Oregon. I'm in Memphis, TN and my son is in St. Louis, Mo.
