Dr. James E. Arnett married Rhonda C. Melton on Feb 21, 1880 Cannon County. William Melton, 9 in the 1880 census was probably her son.

Roda C Arnett (Melton) was my great Grandmother. She is buried in the Kerens Texas Cemetery. You can google it and find a picture of her grave there. My Grand-father William David Arnett was her son. I'm not sure who his father was though. I haven't been able to find him anywhere. I found a William Melton as a step-son to James Edwin Arnett in one of the censuses. Can you help me find out where he came from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ARNETT Darrell Arnett, 79, of Rockbridge, Ohio died February 7, 2012 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.

He was born November 13, 1932 in Carroll, Ohio the son of John and Hattie (Hayman) Arnett.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, life member of Union Local #172, lifelong member of South Perry United Methodist Church, past president of Democratic Party, member of Logan Elm Lodge #624 F&AM for 50 years, foster parent for 20 years, founder of Laurelville Food Pantry and worked as a Hospice volunteer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret (Williams) Arnett and brothers John Richard, Donald and sister Inez.
He is survived by his sons, William "Bill" (Rebecca Geirhart) Gooley, Doug (Robin), Gregory (Cheryl) and Jeffrey (Lisa) Arnett; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Danny (Yvonda) Arnett and Ronald Arnett.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the WELLMAN FUNERAL HOME, Laurelville, Ohio. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery with military graveside honors.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Masonic service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to South Perry UMC, 19680 St. Rte. 180, Laurelville, OH 43135.

Robert Baldridge who married Mary Jane Prater was my great grandfather. He had the following children by Mary Jane Prater, daughter of Adam and Anna Hall Prater: Eve Fedosia (Dosh) Baldridge (b c1884 or early 1886); twins Adam (Ad) Albert Baldridge (18 Jan, 1885 - 16 July, 1966) and Obedience (Biddy) Baldridge (18 Jan, 1885 - )who married 1st John Wadkins, 2 Willy Davis. My grandfather, Robert Baldridge Jr. was the last child of Robert Baldridge Sr (Dec 31, 1886 - Sept 21, 1966). Robert Baldridge Sr. died in 1886 never having seen his last child. William who married Mary Arnett, was the son of James, son of John and Rebecca Clark Baldridge, John was the son of William and Lady Janette Holmes, William was the son of Richard Baldridge. Janetter Holmes was the daughter of sir James Holmes and Lady Margaret Jennings, Lady Margaret was the daughter of Francis Jennings brother of Richard Jennings (who was the father of Sarah Jennings Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough), Francis and Richard Jennings were sons of Sir John Jennings and Lady Alice Spencer, Lady Alice Spencer was the daughter of Sir Richard Spencer and Lady Helen Brockett, Sir Richard was the son of Sir John Spencer and Lady Katherine Kitson (her father was Sir Thomas Kitson, brother to Margaret who married John Washington, ancestor of George Washington); Sir John Spencer was the son of Sir William Spencer and Susan Knightly... (The Spencer line is easily traced since this is the same line that leads to Princess Diana of Wales)...

Be very very careful here. My resaech indicates that joseph Arnett was the son of John W. Arnett, the son of Thomas Arnett, the brother of John Arnett who married Rebecca Comer

John Arnett & Rebecca Comer had only two sons that lived in IIllinois, Thomas, who livved most of his life in Macoupin CCounty, Illinios and Peter Cartwright Arnett who lived in Morgan County Illinois.

John's brother, Thomas had several sons including Joseph, John W. and Thomas B. Arnett

She was born December 18, 1921 in Dayton, Ohio to Alice (Voke) and Louis E. Arnett, who preceded her in death. Katherine is survived by 2 step-daughters Charlotte Wisener (John) of Arcanum and Wanda Stevens (Charles) of Washington Court House, Ohio; 7 grandchildren Nichole, Nick, Brad, Joe, Tony, Laurie and Lisa, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Phillip L. Arnett of Miamisburg, Ohio and sister Evelyn Poore of Dayton, OH.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at Conner & Koch Funeral Home, 92 W. Franklin St. (S.R 725), Bellbrook.
Memorial services will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Stan Gockel officiating. Inurnment at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek.

Clara Newell Davis was born in 1770 and died 1842, i have that they had 5 children, Benjamin Arnett (no other info) Thomas Arnett (no other info), Zadock Arnett (no other info), Millie Arnett b-1796 d-1850 and she married Lemuel Bollock in 1812 and they had 11 children, Meredith Arnett b-1805 married Mahala and had 10 kids, then after Mahala died he married Edney in 1865.

Nancy Arnett married Francis M. Eubanks 30 Nov 1860 in Nicholas Conty, Ky. Her parents were William Arnet and Matilda Eubanks. They were married at William Arnett’s house,Nicholas Co,KY by John Holladay
moved to Ohio between 1862 and 1865
In 1870 Frank Eubanks married Anna Elizabeth Paris.
I would like to know what happened to Nancy Arnett.
I would like to know if Matilda Eubanks was a close relative of Frank Eubanks

i am a descendant of Thomas Lewis Arnett and his second wife, Angelina Hughes, who he married after his first wife's death. I didn't know his first wife's name was Jane Thomas. But I believe they only had 4 children,Lewis R.,Edith, Kate and Alice, all born in England. They all lived with Angelina and Lewis but when he died in 1891 only Edith stayed with Angelina (in Brandon, Manitoba).Edith married John Ross of Medicine Hat and they had a son, Arnett Ross. Lewis R., who managed his father's store in Winnipeg until it failed returned to Ontario i believe sometime after his father died. Meanwhile, Lewis (father) and Angelina had 6 children. Angelina survived her husband by 53 years. There are bios on the website "Memorable Manitobans."

Next time you are in the Bloomington, In. area, go to the Monroe County Genealogy Society at the History Center which is on the corner of Washington & 6th Sts. I once had a Arnett file, which I'm sure would be of great help to you on the Arnetts of Monroe Co.,In. & I donated it along with about 808 other family genealogy files to them 2 yrs. ago, as I was just running out of room in my small apt. to store all of that 52 yr. collection that I had researched.
I had a cousin Doris (Arnett) Gromer, now deceased, who was the daughter of Russell Arnett & Hallie Back who lived on Union Valley Rd. just east of Ellettsville where I live, & Doris was into genealogy too. Doris was a member of the Mormon Church & I helped her with her genealogy. Her mother Hallie & my father were distant cousins.
If sometime you were to go the Monroe County Genealogy Society, I would be more than happy to go with you & help you, as I would be more familiar with my handwritten notes & would probably understand them better than you.
I no longer have transportation.

Yes, my grandmother was Doris Phyllis Cordelia. I carry 'Arnett' as my second middle name. She and my grandfather did raise their 3 daughters in Trenton where my grandfather was the postmaster. My mother was the first born 'Gratia'. I'm just new to this, but can provide what I know.

ARNETT, Betty Louise age 87 of Victoria Gardens in Deland, Florida left this life on Saturday, August 13, 2011.

Betty was born in Springfield, Ohio to Walter and Zelma Lynch.
She attended Plymouth Ave. Christian Church, The Red Hat Society, New Beginnings, Victoria Gardens Singles Group, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was a trustworthy, dependable, elegant, woman who was a wonderful cook, accomplished seamstress, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Her twin sisters and beloved husband: Lehman Arnett preceded her in death.
She leaves behind her daughter and son in law: Carol and Larry Andrews, a granddaughter, Dr. Aimee Andrews and her husband Dr. Jim Troutman, two grandchildren: Emily and Alex Troutman, and her Plymouth Ave. Church family and friends.
A funeral service in her honor will be held Wednesday; Aug. 17, 1:30 PM at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home, with Rev. David Meyer officiating.
Interment will follow at Deland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tues. 08/16 from 5:00- 7:00 PM.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Deland.

I might be a distint relative on the Arnett side. My grandmother's mother was Mary Wilson Arnett, b. 9-11-1852 and married Christain P. Glahn on 2-22-1870 in Missouri. My information shows parents to be Micajah Anders Arnett and Judith Francis Greer. And, Micajah's parents were Andrew Arnett and Edy Walters who were married in 1815 in Jassamine Co., KY. Please confirm what you know that will tie-in to this information and respond to me by e-mail.

My great great grandfather was Benjamin Arnett who married Letitia Toles. I know they had a son named Hampton Theodore, who is my great grandfather. However, I can't find anything on Benjamin's parents. I have heard that his father's name was Thomas (possibly born in 1840 in Kentucky) but this is where I hit a road block. Any information that you may have would be welcome!

who is the william arnett from roan mountain that you know? is it someone who is living now, or someone who lived a long time ago?
the william i am related to was born in 1826 in tennessee, either in overton county or east of overton county. he lived in overton county (monroe post office)from at least 1842 to just after the civil war, when he moved to kentucky. he married fereby flowers, the daughter of benjamin flowers, in about 1842. she was born in overton county, tenn. does any of this ring a bell with you? thanks so much. cindy coleman

I need help placing the people in this photo in my family tree. There is a note on the back indicating that they are nieces and nephews of Celina Arnett Barker (1843-1924) of Monongalia County, W.Va. She was a daughter of William and Elizabeth Arnett. Census records and family tree information on Ancestry.com leads me to believe the people in the photograph are children of James H. and Mary Arnett.

Labeled: “Dad Arnett, Joe (dad’s brother), Art Arnett, Elbert Arnett, Elza Arnett, Eugene Arnett, Nell Arnett Satterfield, Mother (Mary Arnett) and Jess Arnett.” Nieces and nephews of Celina Arnett Barker (1843-1924) of Monongalia County, W.Va., dau. Wm. & Elizabeth Arnett.
