I'm looking for information about Alexander Aron (also Aaron) (born 1901 in Tallinn) who emigrated from Estonia to the United States in 1920. His last known address was in North-Tarrytown (now Sleepy Hollow) near New York. He worked in Chevrolet factory located there. His last letter to relatives in Estonia is from 1927.

He was the brother of my grandfather and so I'm interested to find out what happened to him and does he have any descendants or relatives. If you have any information in this matter please contact me at allanaron[at]gmail.com

aaron/aron/arm - Dynow, Galicia

Hi, I am searching for information on the aaron/aron/arm family from Dynow, Galicia.

My GGF, Samuel Aaron was born in 1878 and immigrated from Dynow in approximately 1900 to New York City. He married Miriam (Mary/Maria) Birken in 1903. The family eventually moved to the Bronx sometime between 1910 & 1920. Samuel Aaron worked as a baker and was active in the Baker's Union and the Workman's Circle.

Mother's name was Miriam Siegel
Father's name was Benjamin Aron/Arm

In the 1891 business listings for Dynow, I have found a listing for B. Arm, as a Baker. Given that my GGF was a Baker there may well me a connection. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated

Hi Tom,

Have you considered joining the ARON/AARON DNA Project to see how your line might connect to other ARON lines going further back? We have about 25 ARON/AARONs in the project right now representing several different lines. Its very interesting to see those who trace their ancestry back to colonial times matching up with lines presumed to be different lines altogether.

Scott

COL. ALBERT ARON

From the Greenwood, MS newspaper dated June 16, 1924-
COL. ALBERT ARON FUNERAL IS HELD

HUNDREDS OF GREENWOOD CITIZENS AT FUNERAL SERVICES ATTEST ESTEEM OF COMMUNITY

"Paying a last tribute to their departed friend, hundreds of Greenwood people yesterday morning followed the remains of Col. Albert Aron to their last resting place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Many and beautiful floral tributes attested the love and esteem in which this citizen of this city was held by all with whom he had come in contact in his long residence in Greenwood, and whose accidental death on Friday shocked and grieved an entire county.

Col. Albert Aron was 77 years of age at the time of his death, and his vigor and activity gave promise of many more years of useful service to the community he had served for nearly half a century. His genial courtesy, his hearty handclasp, his winning personality had won and held the warmest friendships which had endured through the long years of his residence in Greenwood. Few men could number more friends and none could "Grapple them to himself with hoops of steel" than did he.

During the entire period of it's growth from a straggling village along the Yazoo River to a thriving city, Col. Aron had been a citizen of Greenwood, and with his influence had labored for every progressive movement. In the earlier days he was engaged in the mercantile business, but in latter years had confined his business activities to cotton.

Col. Aron was a member of the Elks, Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias to all of which he contributed with his wise and prudent counsel in guiding them to successful and useful work in the community. Three weeks ago Col. Aron represented the local lodge of Knights of Pythias at the Grand Lodge Meeting at Vicksburg, Mississippi.

A useful citizen, a faithful friend, Col. Aron will be remembered and mourned by the citizenship of an entire county who knew and lover him."
