I'm trying to trace my grandmothers family. She was given up by her parents at a very young age. We don't have much information, but the following.
My grandmothers name is Raquel Arroyo born 10/17/1928 in El Paso, TX. Her parents are listed on her birth certificate as Isabel Arroyo and Maria Cano. Who both came from Mexico. My grandmother had a brother, Jose Arroyo. My grandmother recalls a baby girl when she left the home. So she may have a sister, but we are not certain. If any of these names seem familiar, please respond.

If I may interject, my maiden name was Arroyo. My cousin did a geneology of our family and came to the conclusions about being Jewish. Your comment though about an affirmation of being a Jew because your family walked out on a sermon wouldn't necessarilly determine them as Jewish because many wise persons Jewish or not have been disallusioned with false religion, not because of any previous beliefs but because the church just did not practice true Christianity and stick to what the Bible (God's word) says. The Catholic church is rather full of man-made doctrine and belies its claim to what real Christianity is about as are all, but one religion.

My dads name was Manuel Vicente Arroyo Lopez. His mother was Concepcion Lopez her husband or my grandfather was Manuel Arroyo. They lived and traveled between Mexico DF and Oaxaca specifically Huitzo. Ring any bells?

I have been searching for 20 years. Last 4th of July I found my sister Yvvone & Brother Paul. Did not know they never had the Arroyo name that they had our birth Mothers Name Parenti. Found Birth Mother and the two siblings. Still looking looking for the third sibling Anna (Arroyo) Pine.

Birth Father Jorge (George) Luis Arroyo Died in Feb. 1975 of a gun shot to the head. Died in Chicago IL. If you know any other info or think you are my relative, please reply.

am trying to find out if my family has any more family in the US that I don't know about. I know we have family in TX, OK, KS, CO, NM, and CA. But they all migrated from Chihuahua, Mexico. Specifically, Meoqui, Delicias, Juarez and Chihuahua, Chihuahua. My paternal surname is Arroyo and my paternal side is from Meoqui, Delicias and I know my Great Aunt lived in Chihuahua, Chihuahua. My maternal grandmother is from Juarez, and moved to Meoqui when she married my Grandfather, his surname is Nieto and my grandmother's is Arrieta. Her sister resides is in New Mexico along with some distant aunts and uncles and cousins. My grandfather's name on my Dad's side is Angel Arroyo and my grandmothers name is Maria del Carmen Delgado. My maternal Grandparens are Severo Nieto who died of a heart attack in MX in the 1980s and Aurelia Arrieta. If you think you might have some more info let me know. I know alot more I just didn't want to cluster it all in! My paternal grandparents live in OK and has 3 kids: 2 live in OK nad my Dad lives in TX. My maternal granparents had 11 kids. One passed a few years ago. 6 live here in TX, The one that passed lived in CA, and 4 live in Meoqui Chihuahua. Again I have a lot more info.

Hi! do you have anymore info on your family from Yabucoa, PR? My uncle Richard (son of Petra Arroyo from Yabucoa) says his maternal grandmother's maiden name was Martinez, and she married an Arroyo.

HI,there were jewish people in spain at that time.Many were "conversos" during or before the spanish inquisition and expelled or forced to become catholics.Arroyo according to Sephardim.com and the registro officiale of rome accepted arroyo as a sephardic jewish surname,sepahardi meaning comning from spain.I come from the Arroyo_Gely_brugman and salazar family.

I read you post re looking for Arroyo Family. My name is Maribel and my great grandmother was named Juana but she passed away about 1930's or so. My family is from Naguabo, PR. Hi, I may be a little late in the thread of messages but, my grandfathers name was Ramon Arroyo Zuniga, from Leon Guanajuato he died in 94. I dont know much about his family other than he didnt have parents and he's siblings died when they were infants his mothers name was Guadalupe. Wish i knew more, but if one of you know this story or even the name it would great.

Hello my name is James Alberto Arroyo. My father is from Puerto Rico born in Jayuya. His parents were from the Canary islandsmy father was born in 1942.So his parents had to of been born in the 1920' or later.They came to Puerto Rico from The Canary Islands,I am not sure if there are any Jews who have the Castillian name of Arroyo (Creek or Stream),but I would think that there were Jews at this time in Spain and other parts of western Europe who could have somehow taken or married into a Spanish or Castillian ancesrty.

Atalaya, PR is where I have proof of her mother living, her name was Natividad Soto (maiden name)I believe her husband's name was Santiago...According the the one document I found... My grandma came to the states, going through NY and met my grandpa and when he joined the AF they moved around alot.... But as of now she lives in Texas

OK, My grandmother's name is Maria Arroyo, she was born in 1935. From what I know she came to the states in her teens, met my grandfather and the family I know began... However I cannot seem to find any information about the family other than my grandmother's birthday and the fact that her name was Arroyo....Can Anyone Help me?

Tengo familia que llegaron de Barranquitas, pero parece que en los 1900's se mudaron para la area de Barros. sabes de este website de los LDS, contre mucho de mi familia aqui, buena suerte...yo sigo buscando Pablo Barreto de la area de Morovis, pero pareces que murio en Barros entre 1901 y 1910, y eso archivos no esta desponible en este website...buena suerte

Genara Arroyo Y Marcial. Nacio en 1827 in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico y fallo Mar 23 1923 en Saltos, Barros, Puerto Rico, hija de Pablo Arroyo y Rivera y Maria Marcial Y Torres de Vega Alta tambien. Ella se caso con Pablo Barreto nacio en los 1830s in Morovis, Puerto Rico y fallo entre 1901 y1910 en Barros, Puerto Rico.
