Tengo información de Remigio Arteaga Gonzales, nacido en Tafalla 1866. Viajó a Filipinas a los 22 años y luego a Costa Rica en 1893, donde se casó en 1895 con Rosa Salas Morera.
Por otro lado a Lima llegó Remigio Arteaga hacia fines del s XIX procedente de Costa Rica, nacido en Tafalla, al parecer con esposa e hijos?, por lo que creo que se trata del mismo Remigio Arteaga. Aquí en Lima posiblemente se volvió a casar pues se que tuvo 7 hijos (en Lima, no se si alguno fue de la esposa costaricense). Uno de ellos Juan Remigio Arteaga Pereyra nacido en Lima en 1906 (ojo el español es su padre). Remigio Arteaga viajó posteriormente a Brasil (donde posiblemente tuvo otro hijo por lo que veo) y luego a Santa Fé (Argentina) para regresar con su familia a Lima donde fallece en 1938. Su hijo Juan Remigio Arteaga Pereyra fallece en 1972. Remigió Arteaga fue un gran músico, tocaba la bandurria y organizó estudiantinas en Lima y Santa Fé a comienzos del S. XX. Tiene varios familiares en Lima. La hija menor falleció hace algunos años, por lo que viven los nietos y bisnietos.

Hi my name Eva Arteaga and my brother inlaws name is Fernando Atreaga and they are from Vercruz,Mexico. Eventhough he now lives in Texas there are some Atreagas living here which shared the same last and first name as him. I would really want to know something of their family roots for our family tree. Hola, mi suegro es Nicolas Arteaga Perez y su padre se llamaba Nicolas Atreaga pero no se el otro apellido de el y el ya fallecio. Si me puedes dar algo de in formacion te lo agradeceria mucho el solo decia que nacio en el estado de Vercruz y que su antepasados avian venido de otro estado y no sabia mas. Gracias Eva Arteaga

It would be of great help if you were to know anything about Celestino Arteaga and Rafaela Chavez. They are my great grandparents but I can't seem to get past any information about them. All I know is that they were from Carrizal de Arteaga. Can you see if you can find anything out about them like their parents name? or anything really would be appreciated.

Hi, I am Victoria Arteaga; my father was Victor Arteaga of Michigan and San Antonio Tx, and Nuevo Laredo MX. (1926-1995)
these are his parents:

Father: Jose Angel Arteaga b: ABT 1890 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico
Mother: Elena Garcia (Montelongo I think) b: BET 1896 AND 1899 in Venando

not at all sure if there is some connection, but you might check.

Hi,

I don't know if this will help or not but my grandfather,whom I do not know, is from Veracruz, MX. His name is either Cristobal or Crisofardo Arteaga. No sure on the spelling on the 2nd name. From what my father told me, his mom, Sofia Rodriguez was born in Tampico, Mx but in Jan 25, 1925. Don't know if there is a connection or not.

Most Arteagas I have known are from Michoacan like I am, but since you mentioned the Districto Federal you should look into the artist by the name of Sebastian Lopez de Arteaga who was born in Sevilla Spain but died in Mexico DF. Thought it might help!

sorry to hear that i do know that your spelling is unrelated however have worked with some people with your spelling here in chicago there are many with that spelling here almost thought we might be family until we recognized the spelling .. many of them i know are from mexico or mixed italian

My grandfather was Dolores Nicolas Arteaga born 1907 died about 1949 and had a younger brother named Pedro Arteaga.

My mother was born in Atolinga and they moved to US after her father died.

That is all my mother remembers because she was a child.

Anyone know them? Or have pictures?
