FOUND: Photo of Jane Avril

Hi,

I recently found a photo at an antique shop that I am trying to locate the family for. The photo is of a young girl - probably 19-20 y.o., turn of the century, in a small brass frame with cream colored matting. On the back of the photo, in blue ball point pen there is written: "Jane Avril as a girl." I've tried all the usual avenues for finding the identity of this girl and now I am hoping that someone here could help.

Once I have positively identified this photo, I plan to donate it to the historical society or museum where Jane last lived, so that it can be accessible to all her remaining family.

Joseph Avril
Born: 1806 in Santiago, de Cuba
Married: 6/Nov/1830 to Elizabeth Arthemise Duvigneaud in St. Louis Cathedral New Orleans, LA
Died: 31/May/1884 in New Orleans, LA

Father: Hughes/Hugue Avril
Mother: Charlotte Emilie Glodin Mahe Desportes
Hughes was born in Bordeaux, Dept. of Gironde, France
Charlotte was born in Santo Domingo. Born 13/Jul/1828

I am looking for information on Hughes and who his parents was. I was told that he was in the US by 1816.
Also Francois Avril.
Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Wow, I'm the first to post to this board. Hopefully someone will read this. I'm in search of USA Avril descendants who's ancestors immigrated from France & married into or were part of the Richer (France) surname. Are there any? If so, hope to hear from you soon. Toni Maize
