Hi there! I saw this Baldree thread and was hoping for some information sharing on George Baldree whom I believe to be the son of William Baldree who was born 1725 in England and settled in Greenville North Carolina where I believe George to have been born. I am trying to get an accurate date of birth for him if anyone has any information?!
Thank you!

Brianne Baldree

This branch of Shanks that moved to Freestone Co. is not from my branch of Shanks. There may have been a connection but I have not been able to establish it. There is a Shanks cemetery in rural Freestone Co. I believe this branch was from the James Shanks line that came to SC in the 1760s from Ireland. My line came from Ireland in 1772 and settled in Marlboro Co.

Just saw your inquiry...hope this will help....my husband's genealogy shows William Baldree (b. 1725 - England; d. 1762 - Pitt Co., NC) had 3 sons [William, Isaac K., and George]...The son, William (b. 1757 - Pitt Co., NC; d. 1820 - Pitt Co., NC). His son, Isaac (b. 1790 - Pitt Co., NC; d. 3 Jul 1872 - don't know where)...His son, Arnold Thelbert (b. 13 Sep 1828 - Greenville, Pitt Co., NC; d. 3 Jun 1904 - don't know where)....The Isaac who wound up in Georgia was Isaac K., one of the 3 sons listed above.

Hi cousin, i dont know your family situation in KY, but the chances of anyone from that part of the US in that time frame being any amount lakota is very very remote. the lakota are from the dakotas/nebraska area and had little contact with americans until the reservation era in the late 1800's and then there wasnt very much mixing with americans. i have oral history as well that the bauldree's are of Indian heritage but havent foun d any documentary evidence of it as yet...anyways just trying to help. i know many lakota and lived at pine ridge for wawhile when i was with AIM so im just throwin out what ive seen eh.

I am looking for any information on the Baldree family. My grandmother was Lossie Belle Baldree the daughter of John Arnold Baldree of Pitt Co. North Carolina. He was the son of William Baldree from Ballards Crossroads in Pitt Co. N.C. He was the son of Arnold Thelbert Baldree of Pitt Co. N.C. Now where it gets cloudy is, he was the son of Isaac Baldree of Pitt Co. N.C. Now I don't know if it is the same Isaac that ended up in Tattnall Co. GA. or not because it goes on to say his father is William Baldree (1757-1820) and there is mention that William married Anne Rolfe which leads to Thomas Smith Rolfe and to Matoaka Pocahontas Powhatan and to Cheif Powhatan whosa father is Running Stream. I would like to clarify this if posible because I was always led to believe my ancestors led back to England. Not beginning in Jamestown. Any help in this would be appreciated and any photos a great plus. Thank you for your time.

Hi...my name is Shirley Ann (Baldree) Weber.
I live in PA (my family roots are in Georgia).
My e-mail is puppermom46@msn.com
My address is 1202 S. Market Street
Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-4727
I started searching for my family roots, as a member of Ancestry. com and am listed under Baldree Family Tree.
My father is James Clifford Baldree 1917-1972 died in Adel, GA.
Grandfather, Charlie Ranson Baldree
07 Mar 1891 - 06 Feb 1956
buried in Pine Grove Cemetery - Berrien County, GA.
He was married to Mary Alice King 26 Feb 1896 - 24 Nov 1934
GGfather, Irwin W. Baldree 1851 - 1919
GGGfather, Isacc Kethren Baldree 1833 - 1899
GGGGfather, Isacc K. Baldree 1758 - 1830
I've done fairly well, but have run into roadblocks.
My Grandfather above, was shown in the 1900 USFed Census as Charley Baldree, age 9, and a son of Irwin & Nancy Baldree.
Then shown in 1910 USFed Census as
Charlie Baldree, age 19, there it states "adopted son" of Irwin & Nancy Baldree.
His WW1 Draft Regist. Card shows his full name as
Charlie Ranson Baldree born 07 Mar 1891.
I am sooo perplexed!!!!!
Does this mean Grandfather was adopted and not really a Baldree?
Why wouldn't they have mentioned it in the 1900 Census?
Also, if he really were adopted, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIND HIS REAL PARENTS.
And that makes me sooo sad!
Part of me says, GGfather Irwin raised him from a child thru adulthood, making him as much a Baldree as his "siblings".
I know for those in genealogy, that may seem wrong, but that is how I feel.
Also, since I am a novice at genealogy...I didn't know if I shuld keep my (Baldree Family Tree) public, since it is a work in progress?
I do know other peoples trees have been helpful to me.
Unfortunately, I see where some errors keep being repeated.
And I feel, by mine being public...perhaps I add to that.
Another thing I've done is use Jr & Sr in my tree, basicly to help me keep all the people with the same name, like Isacc, separate.
Your (Honest) thoughts please, about my littany of questions and concerns.
IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION ON MY GRANDFATHER CHARLIE RANSON BALDREE or HIS WIFE MARY ALICE KING...please let me know.
I hope to hear from you and thanks for listening.
Shirley Ann (BALDREE) Weber

Picture of E A Baldree

I have a box of old pictures from my mother's side of the family. Among those pictures is a studio portrait of a young man and on the back someone has written, "Mr. Baldree".

On another picture taken about the same time, of a young woman, is written, "Lula Baldree". I believe her to be a great aunt by the name of Lula Spivey.

I have found a marriage record of Lula Spivey to E A Baldree date, 1907 in Johnston County, NC. Does anyone need this information or would like a copy of the picture?

cawanua@aol.com

My dad wad born in Waycross Ga. and lived in Tampa Fl. with relative to the names of Nikki,Jessie Mae and several more that I cannot even begin to remember. But I do know that my family has been able to make contact with one of our brothers that we did not know existed until last year, his name is Jimmy and I am so trying to find out more about my family name other than what I have heard. If you have any questions that I could answer please e-mail me and maybe we can come up with relatives that we did not know existed. I live in a small town in North Louisiana named Homer,La. and my son lives in Arlington,Tenn. My dads name was William(Dave)Baldree and he passed away back in 1989and was buried in Tempson,Tx. all alone. I am 52 years old and I have 7 other sibling from this man.Would you please let me know if you or your family have any information here. Dave married 2X and has 1 child by another woman which we have been able to meet, know we are trying to find out who the other child is,Would you please answer my e-mail when you receive it. My e-mail is hansmema@yahoo.com and Thank you so very much for your help in trying to locate information on our family tree

Hi there. I've been trying to do research on the Baldree family line, as well as an aunt of mine, and I'm sure you might've already been in touch with Charles Baldree? I've seen several posts of his in here. My maiden name is Jennifer Lynne Baldree. He's been doing research for years and had given me very valuable information. If you don't have that information on the older Baldree relatives that are men, I'd be happy to share that info with you. If you might have any additional info for me, I'd appreciate that, too! My great grandmothers name was Pearl (Durham) Baldree. I've been trying to find info on her for awhile.

Hi Danny:

Thank you for your posting. Yes, I have information on your reltives in my database. I have been working on the Baldree/Bauldree genealogy for a long time. You are in fact "distantly" related to the John Baldree in Corpus Christie, but the connection goes wayback to the early 1800's. I would love to share information with you and hope that you can bring me up to date on your own family and your parents, etc. Please email me at chabal3@cox.net.

I would love to hear from you and be able to fill in a few blanks in my records.

Charles Baldree
