My grandmother Eugenia Dally or California Foster is my grandmother. Her father was Wesley Ladd Foster and his mother was Jane Bambridge whose father was Thomas Bambridge. That makes us family. Where in Honolulu do you live? I can't wait to meet the rest of the family. I plan on brining my father who will turn 93 in July.

My interests in Tahiti are: O'Connor, James
Bambridge, Thomas
Adams, Stratford Thomas
and families related to these names.
I Thomas Bambridge came to Australia as a 17/18 yr old convict before settling in Tahiti around 1830.
Stratford (Thomas) Adams came from the Bermondsey area of London.
Anyone researching these families I would be extremely interested to hear from and to share research.

Yes, the name Thomas Bambridge does ring a bell. Was the the mayor of Papeete at some point? Or maybe that was Georges Bambridge. Anyway, nice to meet you, distance cousin :)

When I read this census item (I was researching a CASILEAR fmaily that connects to my maternal DRURYs), it appears to be BAMBRIDGE, but there is a chane it is BAINBRIDGE. I have no additional info on them at all~

Bambridge is not a common name in Australia. I live in Brisbane and at the moment there are only 3 in our telephone directory and they are:
Bambridge H, 62 Halland Tce, Camp Hill Qld 4152 (phone 07 38436438)
Bambridge, Kyle (Landscaper) 19 Clarke St, Ripley Qld 4306 (phone 07 32887146) and
Bambridge, RV & MC 92 Crotona Rd, Alexandra Hills Qld 4161
In the sunshine coast area north of Brisbane there is only one listed in the directory which is:
Bambridge VE, 65 Moreton Tce, Beachmere Qld 4510.
My ancestor, Thomas Bambridge, was only in Australia for about 8 years (1818-1826) before going to Tonga and finally settling in Tahiti (where strangely he had 22 childred also!).
Records after 1905 would have to be searched by electoral rolls I would think and having an idea which state they went to would make the job a lot easier because Australia is a big country. sorry I couldn't solve any loose ends for you.

I wonder if we have a common ancestor. My great aunt Mary Ann Harris married Frederick Bambridge in Northumberland, England in April 1900. Shortly afterward they emigrated, I'm told to Australia. The rest of the family went to the US, but Fred and Mary Ann supposedly chose Australia because Mary Ann had some sort of eye problem that they feared might make them ineligible for entry.

I don't know if this story is true, or even if they actually did go to Australia. I've tracked the rest of the family (22 siblings!) in the US, but haven't found a shred of info on these 2. Not much on the web, either. Perhaps you can help.

Hello Sandra.
Sorry I have not come accross your William Bambridge born Smallburgh about 1883. My own line of Bambridges's ended with Charlotte Bambridge b. 1835 in Buxton who married William Gould (my gg grandparents). I have tried to trace siblings' lines forward but have not come across your William. I have Tunstead registers on fiches but not Smallburgh (which is next door to Tunstead).

Would you by any chance know of a William Bambridge Aged 14 in 1901 Born Smallburgh..I dont know who his parents are though..Sorry..Does this little boy mean anything to you at all. Obviously born 1883 ish...This little lad was a lodger with my g.grandparents in Ormesby in 1901..

I read a file today that showed a Susannah Bambridge, born 1810 of Stebbing, Essex married a Charles Cheek, born c.1808 in Little Coggeshall, Essex. It shows their seven children.

Aloha, Ijeva Bambridge! I too live in Hawaii and have been looking for information on my Bambridge line and have been stuck with 3x ggrandfather Thomas Bambridge.

I heard about the Bambridge reunion in Las Vegas last year but it was after the fact and I was not able to attend. My second cousin Edith Ironside attended. I also heard that about 2 years ago the first Foster-Bambridge family reunion was held in Tahiti.

My 3g.grandfather John Bambridge of Tunstead, Norfolk married Ann about 1830 and they then lived close by in Buxton, Norfolk where my 2g.grandmother Charlotte Bambridge was born. The 1851 census shows Ann was born in Cromer, Norfolk, but what was her surname ?

I am hoping someone can help me, my GGGGrandfather was Philip Bambridge, I have since been told he changed his name to this from Bambach. English 1881 census claims he was born 1832 Hoxton Middlesex England, later living Walthamstow Essex, married twice, Elizabeth and Philip Bambach and Eliza to Philip Bambridge, changing his name in approx 1857. Please Help!!!!!
