Hi
I too have only just read this post, and thought I'd reply to.
I have been doing the family history for some time and am related down Ezekiel's line, 1 of Isaac's brothers.

However, I read the 1st postings and am interested in the France connection mention. Do you have any more information regarding this.

I have more info on Isaac and Susanna and their family, Isaac's death was 6 January 1871 in Little Glemham.

Hi Cathy. I am not sure if my family have any direct link with your Barhams, but this is what I do know. My mother, Edna Bessie Lewis's parents were James Windsor Lewis and Albertha Symons. One of Albertha's sisters (not her niece of the same name and similar age)was Ruth Symons b. 1908 in Hemsworth, Yorks. She married William Barham in Blean, Canterbury, Kent Dec. 1931. He died in 1951, age 45.
Ruth later remarried to Reginald Parsloe in q Oct 1962. The following year I spent the summer with them, where they worked at Cantley Hall, Doncaster. If you do find that there is a link, I have photos of Ruth and Reg,from then that I'd gladly share, to help put faces to names.

Hi Cathy. Thank you for your message. The Barham/Symons link is quite new to me as yet. Have just begun correspondence about this family with Robin Harlow, and will be back in touch with you when we have sorted out a slight confusion about Ruth Symons, married to William Barham. It is very good to hear from you anyway, and I will be in touch. I can be reached at sebastopol48@gmail.com
Jenny

My family includes the Barhams of Kent in the 1600s, with some coming to America in about 1653 with the Filmers. In England and in America, I have specific information where they intermarried with the Symons and other associated families, such as Cox, Day, Lowe, Taylor, Greer, etc. Would be glad to exchange information.

Hello Harold, My name's Emma (I'm using my mum's ancestry account) and I have been researching the Barham family tree for around a year now. Sorry for the really late reply, I have only just found this message now - it seems that we are related. I know that Isaac Barham was born to Thomas Barham (Born 4th February 1759 in Rendlesham, Suffolk) and his wife, Lydia Green (Born about 1750 in Campsea/Campsey Ashe, Suffolk) Isaac's siblings were - Ezekial, Francis, Isaac, John, Mary, Nathanial, Thomas, Alexander, Thomas, Sally, Elizabeth and William.

Susanna Cobbold (Born 1790 in Rattlesden, Suffolk) was born to Edward Cobbold and Mary Jane - Unsure of her maiden name before her and Edward were married. As far as I know, she was an only child.

Isaac and Susanna went on to have four children, Francis, Isaac, John and George. Unfortunately I do not know any info. on Sarah. I am the descendant of George Barham, and therefore, Isaac would be my great great great great Grandfather! I hope I've been of some help to you! :)

Hi,
I have been researching my family tree (Schultz) and on the 1901 census it shows a Dolly Barham (Dorothy??)aged 10 noted as step-daughter to my great father, Charles Fritz Schultz. It says she was born in Weymouth, Dorset but I have no idea why she was living in Leicester at that time, or who her mother was etc. If it helps, Charles was married at the time to Ethel Cooper, but his first wife was Lilian Berhn (was this Dolly's mum??). Lilian died in 1900. If anyone knows anything, please let me know. Thanks.

BARHAM/ BERHAM PATYNDEN/ PATTENDEN Lamberhurst, Wadhurst 1500-1600

I'm a Barham researcher in Richmond, VA, tying up some lose ends regarding John Berham, Ironmaster of Wadhurst, Lamberhurst and environs, d. 1555. Walter Patynden, d.<1551, sold land to Berham. An Elizabeth Patynden was a witness to John Berham's will. Walter is believed to be a son of William Patynden of Beneden, Kent. Related Patynden members were present in Goudhurst, near Lamberhurst. William Patynden's widow Thomasyn was mentioned in his will. A question never solved was the identity of John Berham's widow Thomasyn Berham. Is it possible that Berham's wife was Patynden's widow? John and Thomasyn Berham had five known children: Nicholas, John, Thomas (my line), Richard, Robert, and Alice. William and Thomasyn Patynden and at least three children. If Thomasyn were quite young when married to Patynden, it is possible that she might have been under thirty when married to John Berham, and then producing five more children via Berham. Any and all input is welcome! Please reach me at dayvida@aol.com

David Fletcher
Richmond, VA

You would have to order the actual birth certificates, from the General Register Office in Southport, UK, to find out whole the actual parents of Violet and William jnr were.....im not sure if their mother was Mary.....or that Mary was their aunt.....i can give you details of where to order the certificates online, direct from GRO....they work out more expensive ordering from ancestry....

this could be William's birth entry......bearing in mind William Barham is a very common name....the only reason i picked this one out is because the area born is Blean, Kent....and Blean appears on the census

England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915
about William Henry Barham
Name: William Henry Barham
Year of Registration: 1894
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
District: Blean
County: Kent
Volume: 2a
Page: 816

Hi,

Interesting thing here. On the 1901 Census it has:
Mary Barham 28
William Barham 6
Violet Barham 2

Apparently, from another ancestry.com member, Violet's birth certificate ONLY has the mother Mary, no father. Thus Violet took her mother's surname. Is it possible to lookup William, age 6 and see his birth certificate - is he missing a father too?

Thanks,

Lewis
