I am hoping someone can help...

Francois Xavier Baril and Marie Louise Lavoie are my 3rd great grandparents.
I have the whole Baril line but am stumped w Marie.

I have a copy of her death record (physical copy picked up at city hall) and it lists her father as Edouard Lavoie and no mother listed.

Online her marriage document looks like her parents are Xavier Lavoie and Emilie Baril. (its in French and deciphered as best I could, only know a small amount).

I am wondering if anyone else has info on her. My 2nd great grandmother was Albina Baril and I know she had a brother Francois.
After her mother's death in 1896 she moved to Taunton, Ma and married Louis Chausse. Her brother and father moved to Prov, RI and her father remarried.
Thanks, Nikki

Hello,

I don't know if I ever responded to your query so will do so now just in case. Hope you see it.

I don't have a record of a child of Della and Joseph Napoleon that died at age 4, but I do have another child that you are missing who was born on the date you have listed for that child. She is my husband's grandmother. Clara (Elsie) Marie Odellia Bidigare b. May 14th 1892 in Detroit. She died in 1977.

Glad to share information if you are still searching.
email me at rinke16@bigtube.net

Kathy

I know this is an old post, but I was just looking at my grandfather's baptism certificate and discovered that Joseph Bidigare and Odilia Baril were his sponsors. His name was the same as his father's--Joseph Anton Raymond Bidigare. His mother was Emma Bidigare (parents were first cousins) and his wife was Louise Teipel. Seems like we are somehow related! Would love to share information. Thanks
Cheryl Authier (clfauthier@msn.com)

I'm looking for more information on my great grandfather's second wife, Emelina Baril (also seen as Marie Emelina and Melina and Mina). She married (Louis) Napoleon Sicard on 22 Nov 1880 in Maskinonge, QC (The Drouin listing is for Marie Baret (sic)). She is listed in the 1881 census of Canada as Emelina and in the 1910 and 1920 census of Lowell, MA as Melina. I have a hunch that she died on 17 Oct 1944 in Lowell (Lowell Deaths, U of Lowell archives.)I'm very interested to know if she had a daughter or relative called Anna Baril or Barry.

I am not familiar with the name Baril but am certainly interested in the A. Rattie you have in your lineage. Where were they married? Where was he from? Do you have a date of birth or place of birth? Do you belong to any genealogy society? I belong to the American Canadian Gen Soc. They are masters at what they do. Its based out of Manchester, N H and I'm told Woonsocket has a great Gen. Soc. I am very familiar with Woonsocket as my Dad was and Ice Man there (before refrigerators) and my family is originally from Bellingham, MA. Hope to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Another Elaine
E-Mail: HJT21@aol.com

I am a granddaughter of Bernadette Louise Baril, and am just beginning to learn about my family history. This is the first site I have been on, and I'm excited to discover there may be relatives who will contact me because of this message. My grandma is the daughter of Louis Joseph Baril born 29 Jul 1893 in Gentilly, POLK, MN and Laura Bertha Demarais born 21 Nov 1898 Gentilly, POLK, MN. Papa Louis was the son of Louis Baril and Maria Dufault. This is all I have so far. My dad recalls Papa Louis playing cards and swearing in French. We think they moved to Minnesota from somewhere near Quebec. I look forward to hearing if anyone out there may know who my family is.

How are you? Im trying to find out were my Baril hertigage comes from. The futhest that I have got is gr gr gr grandfather. His name was Joseph Baril and he was born in vermont in 1838. According to a 1900 census, his parents were both born in Canada. He had a son named Henry G. Baril which was my grandfathers , grandfather. I have a hunch that in some way im probably related to the Jean Baril that came to Canada in the mid to late 1600's. If you can give me a hand , I would realy be greatful.

I'm kind of new at this, would like to find out more about my family tree. I know it started in France during the civil war (I think) a Donn'e Baril which was suppose to be in the war but instead fled to the U.S. because he opposed the war, and if he stayed he was to be beheaded. From Canada they then went to MI to a town which is no longer there called Dollar Bay. From there the Baril's moved down the East Coast. At that time the Baril name was spelled with 2 L's at the end but some where along the line one L was dropped. Could you help me. Thanks
BARIL, Joseph - Manchester, N.H. - (Clarisse Delisle)
"l'ei respose le corps Joseph Baril espouse de Clarisse Delisle decede le 13 Juillet 1899 31 yrs 6 mo"

This gravestones was recorded by Matthew Labbe during a 1999 survey of an overgrown part of St. Augustin Cemetery in Manchester, N.H.
This is one of twenty-five stones found by Matthew, of which he was able to make out only 17 inscriptions.
Last fall the church, in their attempt to sub-divide and sell this portion of the cemetery, removed the gravestones to the back of a maintenance shed.
Cemetery workers then took the claw of their backhoe to the ground in an attempt to determine if human remains could be found. No bones were found, although they desecrated nearly every gravesite with their backhoe.
Neighbors and local historians have complained and the case has now been handed over to the New Hampshire Attorney General.
Local historian Dick Duckoff found records compiled by the American-Canadian Genealogical Society that shows 11 of the deceased were buried at St. Augustin Cemetery. He has found additional information that shows that Works Progress Administration workers noted the stones in a 1938 survey of cemetery inscriptions at St. Augustin Cemetery and other city cemeteries. He estimates as many as 39 graves could be in the area.
For more information you can search the local newspaper's website at unionleader.com
Same names- confusing!!

There are 2 Donna Baril one in USA, and Donna Barill in Canada. The Canadian one was changed by accident however we are all part of the bigger picture. Most Baril/Barill names are repeated several times in history, which contributes to a lot of confusion. And some people went by the second names rather than the first. I think they did that just to confuse us further. HAHA. D.Barill
