Re: Antonio Barrera Barrera

My maternal grandmother was Virginia Rendon Barrera born in Abasolo Coahuila Mexico circa 1880, and died in 1914 also in Abasolo. Her parents were Miguel Rendon and Francisca Barrera born in 1853 in Abasolo. She was the daughter of Francisco Barrera and Adelaida Frutoz. I am trying to get in touch with any Barrera clan that are related to Virgina Rendon Barrera. I would like to get a picture of her if anyone has one? Virgina died within two years after my mother Sapopan Rendon Rendon was born. My understanding is that there is an Antonio Barrera who may have been a brother or close relative to Virginia. The oral story goes that he was part Polish? All my Rendon relatives live in either Monclova, or Abasolo Coahuila. Many also live in San Antonio Texas. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Can we asume you've already exhausted the resources of the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS)?

If not, one of the microfilms referenced in the following links may be of help.
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/IGI/individual_record...
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/igi/individual_record...

I assume you know the Guarani people are native to what is now Paraguay, and to surrounding regions of Argentina and Brazil, and are in no way connected to Chile, other than by long distance migration.

The surname (de la) Barrera is that of a Spanish Conquistador. There may be multiple generations of mestizo involved in the tree you are researching, and you'll have to establish how many generations prior to Rosario the migration from Paraguay to Chile occurred.

A sometimes useful resource for Chilean genealogy is genealog.cl

Good luck

Philip
Barrera Families in Patzcuaro or Michoacan Area

So we all know that hispanos have 2 last names the paternal one being first and the maternal on being second, my husband family is Barrera and then Pineda, Is there anyone in this board whose last name is BARRERA and Then Pineda that have come from the "state" of Michoacan or the city Patzcuaro? I keep posting here because I am looking for other BARRRERA's from Michoacan that may have Pineda's in their tree also.

Claro esto no he podido verificarlo.

Ma. Gertrudis Barrera

Looking for info on Ma. Gertrudis Barrera married to Domingo Molina, possibly of Mier. Their son Bernardo was my great grandfather. Bernardo was born about 1820. I would like to know who her parents were. I have two documents with her name and one says Barrera and the other Herrera, both very clearly written.
