I do believe that we may be related. I don't have any information but the names that you refer to are names that I have heard before over the years here and there. My father, his brother, sisiters and parents are from Texas and moved to Washington more or around than 30 years ago and I know that we have lots of Barrientes family Texas. Like I said I don't really have any information for you but something compelled me to reply to your post since I know it's possible that you might be family.

Hi, my name is Jessica. I'm 25 years old. I've been searching for my father most of my adult life. My mother has only given me a little bit of information. I'm not sure how long, or if they were ever in a relationship...this is the information that I have:

From: Bishop, Texas

I don't know exactly how old he was when they met. She had me when she was 25, and I remember her saying that he was a few years younger than her. I know that he was in the army, because she said that he was leaving to Germany when she found out that she was pregnant.

I know this is a very strange situation. I understand that people have their own lives and families, I'm not trying to impose on any of that...I would just really like to know some family medical history for myself and my daughter.

I'm hoping and praying that someone here can help me.

lou....my name is remigio barrientes, my dad was saturnino barrientes he was mnarried to my mom marcella barrientes. my dad was married before he married my mom marcella i have 2 step brothers that i know and they are still living . gilbert barrientes lives in odessa tx and estevan barrientes lives in lamesa tx..and in lamesa tx is where i was born along with my brother's david, saturnino jr, my sisters virginia and marcella and they are all still living. i live in san antonio tx now my pho# is 210-651-1176...email me or call me i sure would like to hear from you...i know the barrientes family goes along way back but we never got to really look into the geneology....hope to hear from you....remigio

In loving memory of Eleazar De Leon, October 19, 1938 -- July 31, 2005.

Eleazar De Leon was born to Cleotilde and Amelia De Leon in Congregacion Hidalgo Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He was known as "Charro" to all his family and friends.

Charro lived his life as he wanted. He was known to be a jokester, an adventurer, a singer, a loving father and brother and he was a man of great "Mexican" strength and dignity.

At the age of 29, he married Maria Barrientes and out of their union they were blessed with six loving children, who then blessed both of them again with eleven grandchildren.

Charro leaves all of us with many great memories of his lifetime. Charro lives on in our hearts and minds for right now, but for those who have Christ in their hearts, they will have the chance to see him once again in heaven.

Charro is survived by his children: Maria Amelia, Evangelina, Eleazar Alonso, Victor, Angelica and Anna Elizabeth. He is also survived by six brothers, three sisters, eleven grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleotilde and Amelia De Leon, one brother, Alonso De Leon and one brother-in-law, Jack Powell.

There will be a memorial service Saturday at 2 p.m. at El Sendero de la Cruz Church, 2227 W. Peninsula Dr. Rev. Mike Alvarado, Jr. will be officiating the service. All who knew Charro are invited to come and celebrate the life of our dear brother, uncle and friend.

Alot of my Barrientes family are from Brownsville Texas,my grandfather was named Fidencio he had several brothers Juan,Pedro,Francisco and Saturnino.Their parents are Estevan Barrientos and Antonia Reyna also of Matamoros.My grandfather Fidencio (fencho) married a Flavia Cisneros about 1910 in Brownsville ,Texas.Apparently alot of the brothers had registered for WWI in Brownsville.maybe were related? Sorry not related. Sorry I cant help I was an only child from my mother Maria Andrea Barrientez... Resided in San Benito Texas when I was born and and later was living in Chorpus Christy Texas. I know I have halve bro or sisters cause I have seen her once and she told me but I must have been 7 or 8 yrs old so dont remember much.. I was raised by my aunt and uncle Juan/Petra Alfaro of Brownsville Texas. Again sorry I cant help.

your info is correct and all these barrientes' came out of matamoros as well as mine. the roots of estevan barrientes is found in marriage and birth records of matamoros thru the mormon churchs' family history center microfilm. please check my queries and answers of the barrientes' board for more info. my line is manuel barrientes-m-claudia carrizales-martin barrientes-m-mercedes rodrigues daughter of simon and maria luisa de la garza,martin came to hidalgo county and then to refugio county where some of estevan's kids came to also! i suspect they are all related and came originally out of coahuila and down south further?

When I first posted this message board I was looking for my Mother Maria Andrea Barrientes... My fathers last name was AMAYA but they were never married...I was born in San Benito Texas at the hospital there. I was the only child from them two. Some how Jessica Barrientes has taken over my message board in search of her own relatives... I am still looking for my mother last City know was Corpus Christy Texas in 1956... When I saw her for the first time. I have not seen her since. I know I have brothers and sisters out there on her side would be nice to know them... I dont even know if she is still alive my father passed away in 1989.... I am a Sgt Maj. U.S. Army Retired woking for the Department of State Foreign Service Institute and would still like to know the whereabouts of my mother. I was raised by my grandmother and when she passed on My aunt Petra Alfaro and her husdand Juan Alfaro from Brownsville, Texas took over...

the majority of barrientes from 1909-1930 in cameron and refugio county were from tamualipas,mexico with three lineages that begin in Coahuila state then about 1850 many come to tamualipas then to texas. i check lds FHC films from 1884 and on,i had no time to check civil records from 1850-1884 which would most definetly prove the barrientes are all related. i checked church records but only proved the other two lineages were related not mine yet. but very possible please spread this message as it proves the above genealogy for the origins of many barrientes in cameron and refugio(woodsboro). also, who was thomas' father?

post script-the father of martin barrientes was manuel and claudia carrizales. in researching tamualipas civil records but not early ones-1860-1884, the majority of the barrientes of cameron,refugio(woodsboro) and corpus cristy were from tamualipas descended from manuel,pedro and juan barrientes BUT unknown if all related. pedro and juan"s ancestors were from Coahuila then to tamulipas then to texas

Hi...to make a long story short my Mothers maiden name is Barrientes her full name is Maria Andrea Barrientes, her and my father were never married.. I was adopted by my own aunt and Uncle on my fathers side.. I was born in San Benito Texas, and my father is now dead... I am really lost because I dont know anything of her life, mother, father or family if any...
at the time of my birth they were living in San Benito Texas... I was born in the hospital there but the history of my birth is recorded by not very much else...

i am also a great granddaughter of santiago barrientez and mariana ramirez. my grandfather was paul barrientes. he was born in 1919 in robstown, texas. his sisters were mercedes, ophelia, dominga, and paula. his brothers were james (jim), thomas, joseph, and bob. i currently live in alabama which my grandfather paul lived here for a short time and had 2 daughters, mary and gay nell. mary is my mother.we started searching a year ago for the barrientes family. we found out my grandfather paul was deceased.

My name is Francisco Barrientez. My father's name was Gregorio Barrientez. My grandparents were Francisco Barrientez and his wife Gregoria Valdez. My great grandparents were Cornelio Barrientez and his wife Guadalupe Elizalde or Elizondo.My grandfather's siblings were Jesus Barrientez, Candelaria Barrientez who married a Gonzales and moved to California, Enriqueta Barrientez who married a Belmarez and moved to Laredo, Texas. I know that we have some relatives in California but I do not know their names. My grandfather also had some half brothers by the name of Barrientez in the Valley in Texas. I am from Seguin, Tx.
