Barth family

I have run across a letter dated 1946 from a Lutheran Pastor in Purschwitz (eastern Germany). The pastor is responding to a request for information about one Agnes Mattick (nee Barth). While the church records don't show anything about Agnes, there is a wealth of info about her relatives going back to a death in 1814. I will be pleased to forward a scan of this letter (and the original mailing envelope) to anyone who might be interested. The letter is in German, so if you don't read that language, point that out and I will include a translation.

You may have already collected them, but there are family notices in the local German language papers for Margaretha Barth Mosel, and possibly for her sister Magdalena Klein. There are likely Meyer notices as well.

Specific citations in the name index constructed from the local German-Amer. newspapers are available on request.

Gary Rebholz
Milwaukee, Wis.
gary.rebholz@gmail.com

Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items; 1844 ...1950

Anna Maria Rosine Barth was born in Calmbach August 12, 1812 and died there April 13, 1885. She married Jakob Friederich Seifried. Anna's parents were Friederich Siegmund Barth and Anna Maria Haisch. Friederich Siegmund Barth was born in Calmbach May 8, 1788 and died there January 6, 1831. Friederich Siegmund Barth's parents were Friederich Gottlieb Barth and Anna Maria Beznerin. Are there any distant relatives out there?
Jim Foster

Dear Madam?Sir, Hello,my name is Mr.Derlin Gerard Clair.I,m a resident of Slidell,St.Tammany Parish,Louisiana.Ms./Mr.DrBrownlee,you mentioned on a post about a William H.Barth,Jr.of New Orleans,La.Speifically about Mr.Barth being in flight training at the Pacific Air School Gibbs Field in Fort Stockton,Texas. My Great Grandfather,s name was Mr.Emile Barth. He was born in Baden-Baden,Germany in September 1862,and it seems that his family immigrated to America in 1881,where they settled in New Orleans,LA.Dear madam/sir,as far as I know,Emil Barth was an only child.I,ve never found any record for a brother or sister of his.His parents were Heinrich, and Margaret Barth,wh as I,d said earlier, immigrated with their only known child, their son Emil to the United States in the year 1881.However,perhaps,this William H.Barth,Jr. was some cousin of his,Ms./Mr.DrBrownlee.I know for a fact that there were some other Barth families in 19th century New Orleans besides Emile,s family.I really wish that you could have provided a photo of Mr.William H.Barth,Jr.so that I could have possibly seen if there seemed to be some sort of family resemblance perhaps, dear person. In your post on him,you mentioned that he is pictured in a "44-A-Solo",but unfortunately there is no photo of him to illustrate this statement. It would have pretty nice if there actually had been a picture of this gentleman to see what he actually looked like. Also,in regards to Emil,s mother,I unfortunately never did find her Maiden Name,so I don,t really know what her Family Name might have been.Anyway, thank you kindly for your Post, and may God bless you. Guttes Wunsche- Best Wishes,Mr.Derlin G.Clair,E-Mail:derlinclair@yahoo.com

Wow! Thanks so much for attaching the birth certificate. I called my father immediately, and he had more information to provide which I am happy to share:

The female child born to Fred J. and Eva M. was named Marjorie Barth.

Marjorie Barth then married Albert (unsure of first name) Danheim.

Marjorie and __________ Danheim had a daughter, Helen Danheim.

Helen married Charles (Chuck) Remmel and they had a daughter, Deb Remmel (who currently still lives in the family home in NY).

Fred J Barth is my Great-Great-Great Grandfather.

Again, thanks so much for sharing this information. It's very much appreciated. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you in return.

I am related to Barths only by marriage. My husband's grandmother was a Barth, descended from Augustus Barth who emigrated to this country from Hamburg in the 1850's. I had requested a birth certificate from the New York City Archives for a different Barth but they goofed. As I said before, the copy I received is not great quality, thus the attachment is poor as well. If you would like the hard copy I would be happy to forward it to you via snail mail.
Eve

You can email me directly at goldenhoops@gmail.com.

Also, the first name of Fred's wife is Eva Margaret, frequently referred to as Margaret (Maggie) Eva.

Are you a relative or descendent of this line, or another Barth line?

A female child (unnamed at birth) was born to Fred J. Barth and Eva Metzler Barth on November 6, 1891 in New York City. I was sent this birth certificate in error and will gladly forward it on. It is somewhat difficult to read so I am not quite sure of Mrs. Barth's first name or age at the time she gave birth.

I am looking for information on my Great-Great Grandfather Charles David Barth. Charles was born 17 Sept 1873 somewhere in Germany. I am not sure where. He arrived in the US sometime in or around 1890. In June of 1896 he married his wife Louisa Fredricka Bahmuller and they went on to have at least eight children. Louise was born 19 Jul 1874 also in Germany and came to the US sometime in or around 1893. I'm not sure of the port of arrival or really any other information. I'm hoping that someone has them on their family tree. I do know they lived in Philadelphia and that all of their children were born in the city.

When I researched county records, I also came up with a name Frederick William Heinrich Barth--could this have been the father of Charles, Fritz, and Richard? Any information you might have would be grately appreciated.

My mom was married to his son Clayton w. Barth. Her name is Maryann and she said my granddad never really talked of his family. So, I don't know who my great grandparents on the Barth side are.
Chester BARTH (b.1920, d. 1960) NY

Hi, I am seeking more information about my grandfather CHESTER BARTH. He was born in either Erie or Niagara County, NY in abt. 1920; and died abt. 1960 in Buffalo, NY. I am looking for any information about him, his parents, siblings, and/or wife.

Chester’s mother was Lottie ANIELSKI (b. abt. 1902, d. 1981). His maternal grandparents were Michael Anielski (b. abt. 1820-d. ?) and Julia Anielski (b. abt. 1870-d. ?). Both grandparents were from Germany and/or Poland. Lottie and her husband, whom I know nothing about, had three sons: Chester, Edward, and Joseph. Chester served in the US Military during WWII. And one of the other sons died during the Korean War as a result of some automobile accident.

Chester married, Stanislawa (Stella) Kaplon (alt. spelling: Koplon) (b. abt. 1923, d. 1981). We believe Stanislawa was born in Oswiecim, Poland and during the war world she worked as a governess for a German family. Chester and Stella raised three children, all of whom still reside in Erie County, NY.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
-Megan Barth

Also searching: Kaplon, Anielski.
