Attention UK BARTLETTs - Holiday SALE on DNA Testing
Family Tree DNA has announced a pretty good sale on DNA testing that is paid for before 12/31/08.
We'd really like to get some more lines from the UK tested.
I can’t quote pricing here, but the cost of the 37 marker test (Y-DNA37) is almost down to what the 12 marker test was.
This is probably a result of competition with some new companies in the DNA business, as well as fancy new equipment that makes the testing more efficient.
FTDNA is by far the largest and best DNA company – fair, professional, responsive, etc. We recently had a an unusual result, so I sent an email to FTDNA – within 12 hours the President wrote me back and said they agreed with me and that they’d do the retest gratis – usually there’s a fee involved, but the fee is refunded if the second test does come back different.

The TEST: FTDNA sends a kit with plastic sticks, vials, a preaddressed mailer and instructions. Just rub the inside of your cheek with the stick, put the end of the stick in a vial, repeat, and mail it in – no blood, no pain – it’s like brushing your teeth.
