Kenneth, I do have information on Clyde Bascue. I show he died in Schenectady, NY 13 Jul 1964. If this is your Clyde I can connect you back a few more generations. Some of the people in this thread have connections farther back, but I just read about them. I hope to connect with them to see if they will share information. You may email me at cdavis3@hot.rr.com
Happy hunting.

Hello. I just found out today that Nathaniel Bascue was my grandmother Henrietta Wyatt's grandfather. I live in Washington State. My 2nd cousin in AZ is knowledgeable of the family history, and a lot of stories. What information could you share about Nathaniel Bascue - and what is your relation? Thanks!

Hi, I'm researching the Charles Bascue family of Loudoun County Virginia. Charles born abt. 1789 and was married to Rachel Buckles. Currently I am trying to gather primary source which would prove that this Charles was the same Charlemagne Bastarache/dit le Basque who was married in Canada to Theotiste Dorion and had two children with her before his life in Va. These may be your peeps, so keep you posted. ann hagen ahagen20164@yahoo.com

Kenneth, my Bascue records do not include a Clyde Bascue. I have two Charles Bascue. (1) Charles T.D. Bascue, 3 Jan 1845 - bef 1940 of Springfield, Ill. and (2) Charles Franklin Bascue,13 Jan 1910 - 14 Jan 1986 of Harlin, NE. died at Woodburn, Oregon. If you find your ancestry related through either of the two Charles I have, let me know. Good luck in your search. Don't give up because it is difficult. There are lots of Bascue's out there.
Hi,
I'm Kenneth Charles Bascue, living in Manhattan NYC for 26 years, originally from Upstate,Schenectady NY.(age 52)

My parents were killed when I was 25 and I really never knew much about my father's heritage because his father was killed before I was born. (father was Clyde and grandfather was Charles - Whitehall NY).

I am now the eldest in our family and would love to be able to fill in what countries we are from originally and if we are of French, Spanish, Basque or Canadian decent..?

I have two nephews who are approaching their teens and it would be wonderful to have this knowledge to share and not have them feel the way I did growing up....not knowing.

Any info anyone can share will be very much appreciated.

I am the eldest of 4 boys and will pass this info to my brothers. My mother was full blooded Italian (Georgia) and we do have a sense of her heritage.

All the best to you and your families,
Ken

Ps.. there was a distant relative Kenneth F. Bascue (may he rest in peace), who did send info years ago and has since passed away. I still wasn't clear after reading from he and his wife where our furthest ancestors were from.. It seemed to be Canada was talked about most
and I'm thinking that Europe would have still had to been our first origin. It would be fantastic to find that we had a family crest for either the name Bascue or Basque.... I'd have a ring made and wear it with pride.
The Bascue's of old are most interesting. I, too, am related to Charles Bascue and Rachel Buckles. I am curious of more recent ancestors, i.e. 1920-30's. My more recent Bascue married my great grandfather Marion D. Atkins. Any connection there?

Thank you for your response! It is so great to hear from a distant cousin! After I posted, I found Vesta's number online and gave her a call. She gave me such wonderful information! I have also been in contact with Bob Coldwell and Annette Fredericks. With their help, I have been able to track the Brown line to Joshua and Lucy Brown. Still looking for information on Joshua's parents. (My grandfather was Oden Brown, who was Flossie's brother. Flossie, I believe, was your great grandmother, right?)
Are you into genealogy, too?

Sue Brown Jennings
