Hey you guys.... posted something last night but don't know if it went through. Don't even know if anybody is still out there looking. Started looking up family names and came across all these post. Wow.... would be nice to know something about our history. Why didn't we rope all our parents together and get all this staight before now....LOL something makes me think they didn't know to much themselves....

Hey I think I can shed some light on your search and me coming across this post I can connect some of the dots already. My family as well are from Santiago de los cabaelleros ,Dominican republic but we are from a pueblo called navarette .I spoke to my father today and he gave me a quick recap of his knowledge on the Batista name ...his name is Jose Rosendo Batista his fathers name my grandfather is called Cesar Batista and his fathers name is florencio Batista,now I can see that your middle name is florencio so I'm guessing florencio was an important figure to the batista family if you have that name as your middle name I'm guessing you have other florencios in your family .As in how Batisa migrated to Santiago my father told me when the batistas first got to DR they really landed in La vega and after my granfather was born my side of the family moved to navarette .I hope the information I provided can help in your search as well as for me any type of info would be appreciated . if you wish to contact me just email me any time. guy830@gmail.com

Our Batista family is from Santiago de los Caballeros and I would love to find my famly tree and see where my family came from. We have lots of family in NYC, that is where we came to from the Domincan Republic, now we are spread across Florida and still have family in NYC.

We lived in NYC for years and my dad had 4 brothers named, Carlos, Daniel, Ramon and Jesus Maria Batista. They are all deceased now and I am trying to find our family tree.

I have been trying to find Ivania for longer than a minute. She is no where to be found. I guess she might have gotten married and taken on a different last name. I have even tried Skype. They have a bunch of Ivania's on there. But im guessing if shes not in Costa Rica she is probably somewhere in NYC. Try the White pages in Queens. Pops said that where her moms family is from.

I wish she would've left atleast a email address or put what part of the world shes in.

Hope all is well with you. I am not sure if maybe we could be referring to the same person; I was talking to my father yesterday whos' name is also Fernando A. Batista from the Dominican Republic and he was telling me that he has a daughter by the name of Ivania Solano born in 1976 and that he wanted me to help him find any information on how he can locate her. He told me that she was born in NY if im not mistaken at the Metropolitan Hospital, that her mom is from Costa Rica and her first name is Cindy. Hope to hear from you soon.

My family is from Sabana iglesia(Papayo) area. My grandfather was Epifanio Batista (Juaquin and Fello were his brothers)who recently passed away at 93 so he fits timeline. His father was Candido Batista and mother was Rosa Emilia Batista. Not sure if our origins are from Spain or Portugal! I too am looking for any info available.

Hi, my name is Alvin Batista and I grew up in Brooklyn NY, my Father Santiago was born in Rio Arriba, Arecibo, PR in the late 1920’s then moved to Carreras, Arecibo, PR sometime before 1930. My father had five older siblings Nicolas, Maria, Jose, Antonio, Celestina, and two younger siblings Felipe, and Gloria. My Grandfather Nicolas Batista was born in the Canary Islands in 1872 and came to PR in 1874. My paternal grandmother Amalia DeJesus was born in PR (I am not sure which city) in 1898. Both of my paternal Grandparents died when my father was young so he did not have firsthand knowledge of their history. My father left PR in the early 1950’s and settled in NYC. My family moved to PR about 6 months after I was born in early 1961 and came back to Brooklyn in mid 1962. Unfortunately, my father has lost touch with his family in PR, and he has not been there in eight years.

Two years ago I began a search for my Batista ancestry. My grandfather was Juan Batista (some people say his name was Julio, I am not completetly sure, but Juan looks more probable). Hello Waleska,I'm Jose and just today I was talking to my brother about my grandfather, his name was Juan Batista from Penuelas, but my father mother was not Juan Batista's wife, and my father was born in 1928 with his mother last name, that is Morales. My last name is suppose to be Batista, but my grandfather (non of us grandchildren never met) did not want to recognize my father. Maybe there is a connection. About two years ago I found another Batista here in NY and I realize we were related because we had some of the same people in our family.

I want to ask you first if by any chance you have heard of the name Justiniano Batista. He is the grand father or great grand father of most of the Batista here in Providence, RI. We have some relatives in Florida and Port Jefferson,N.Y.

my family is santiago and are batistas as well. they are originally from santiago ( los melaos). my Great, great grandfathers name was Pedro Maria Batista (WIFE OLEGARIA GUTIERREZ)and my great grandfather was named justiniano Batista (LAST WIFE ISABEL lAUREANA DELGADO) and he had 4 wives and many children 13 that i have found so far. maybe you are related some how. I am a pastor of a little pentecostal church, and a lawyer in Puerto Rico. My phne is 787-616-6677. In my family we have two pastors, two veterans (Army and Navy), and my sister is a teacher.

My father Ariel Morales was born in 1928, his father was Juan Batista, his mother Ricarda Morales, from Yauco.
