Hola, i am still learning spanish. Did u say family from costa rica were electricians? My husbands family Batres from Guatemala are electricians....goes far back in family. :-) They have also been in radio and are now going into computers. My husbands direct family are now in the Dallas TX area. Nice to make your aquantance. P.s. i also know on his moms side they related to Figuaredo / Poggio.

your post is old, but maybe you'll get this. my name is marvin batres. both my parents are from guatemala. my grandfather was a batres and i believe some of his family was italian. anyways, my father would know more. i live in texas.

Hola... yo soy de Costa Rica.. Mi tatara abuelo Luis Batres García de Granados, fue quien trajo la electricidad a Costa Rica en 1845.

Me gustaría conocer mas de los Batres, se que hay castillos en Guatemala España y Francia de mis antepasados, tambien se que somos descendientes directos de Luis XIV.

Si tienen mas información haganme saber.

"Mrs. Hortense Addison Batre, 97, founder of the Alabama Society of Colonial Dames, member of a family of outstanding prominence in the South, and resident of Mobile for 77 years, died Thursday at 7:30 a.m., at her home at 400 Church street." Born in 1834, she was the eldest daughter of Lloyd Dulany Addison and his wife, Anne Maria Sands, both of Maryland. Mrs. Batre's father had been in the cotton business in New Orleans, where she was reared. She married Alfred Batre of Mobile in 1854. Batre was a member of the Miller and Batre banking firm.

efectivamente somos pocos y especiales yo me origino de espana,hay un pueblo en la provincia de extremadura que se llama lo de batres 15000 habitantes y la mayoria son batres interesante no te parece?quentame algo de tu familia espero noticias.
