I really know nothing but what is on my father's birth certificate. My grandmother wouldn't talk about it (she was kind of secretive about her past - with reason, I think!) and when pressed she usually made something up.

The name William Bawn is listed as the father on my father's birth certificate and his occupation is listed as "Baker" he would have been in London in 1911. That's about it. If you have any bakers among those Williams, I'd be interested in learning more.

Well, there aren't many messages here, but I'm going to give this a shot anyway.

I'm looking for William Bawn, who is my paternal grandfather. He would have been living in London, England abt 1911. My grandmother spoke of a Bawn's Bakery on Maiden Lane.

And that's all I know. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Stumbled upon your posting re: John Bawn. The Ryerss Museum located in Burholme Park in Philadelphia contains a photo of John Bawn and his wife Anne Ryerss, the widow of Robert Ryerss. As I recall the photos were taken on a trip to Egypt or possibly China at the circa 1900. Also, I believe the information on Bawn stated that he was a minister at a local church at the time. The museum is located at Central and Cottman Avenues in northeast Philadelphia.
