I am looking for any info on my great-grandfather, Phillip Hetu. He married Emma Gibeau and had two children, Henri and Emma. He lived in New Hartford, NY where he worked as a spinner in a cotton factory. He died in Toronto in the late 1920's or early 30's but I know nothing else except that he had at least two sisters. Don't know where he came from originally. May have been born in Cohoes, NY.

She lived in Cohoes NY as a widow with her children in 1900. I know nothing of Lucien Hebert.

The info I have is
Delia Beauvais Hebert (b. in Vermont)is dau. to Henry Beauvais (b. 1833),

Henry is son to Jacques Beauvais(b. 1762)and Appolline Gaboury,

Jacques is son to Joseph Xavier Beauvais (b.1730) and Marie Josephe Desnoyer dit Demaret,

Joseph is son to Jacques Beauvais and Marie Anne Arbel.

Originally from Champagolle, France?
somehow came to Canada and finally to Highgate, Franklin, Vermont.

I'm not sure if I can answer all your questions but I should be able to give you a good start in the right direction. My research shows that Delia's parents are Henry Beauvais (known as Bovat) and Lucy Martin. Henry's parents are Jacques Beauvais and Appolline Gaboury. The family was from Highgate, Vermont and before that Chambly, Quebec. The Beauvais Family orginates from Champagnole Franche-Comte, France.

You can email me at: fran_malone@yahoo.com

There are a couple of other BEAUVAIS lines here in Australia that so far haven't linked up to the line that Sandra and I are working on (BEAUVAIS / SEIGNETTE m 1838 La Rochelle Charente France).

Yvonne

My husband's aunt told a story about her aunt who was a nun. She came out of the nunnery and married. She and her husband adopted 2 girls and then the mother wanted the children back. They lost the girls. Supposedly she and her husband got on a ship and went to Australia. Our current Beauvais line is in Louisiana although back in the 1700's they came from France through Canada and into Illinois and 2 brothers came to Louisiana. Would be glad to share information if you are interested.

my husband's grandfather [Joseph Oliva Bourcier] commissioned his genealogy and in that book one of his lines goes back to this couple. J.O. Bourcier married Eva Beauvais - daughter of Isreal Alexis St-Gemmes Bourcier and Azilda Germain and granddaughter of Amable St-Gemmes Bourcier and Marie Lafabvre. I believe there is a connection. It was difficult for me to translate the written in French book into English for my genealogy. I have a xeroxed copy of the book and know the whereabouts of the original.

Joseph Osias Beauvais

I’m searching for the death of Joseph Osias Beauvais born 19 August 1896 in Chénéville, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Joseph Beauvais by his wife Marie Bérubé, who emigrated from Chénéville to New York state about 1900, then settled in Salem, MA about 1907. Joseph Osias married about 1917 Albertine Mailhot, and had three children (Paul, Irene and Henry). Joseph Osias died between 1957 and 1962, possibly in Danvers, MA. (Note: This family’s name was originally Bouvret, so it’s not related to other Beauvais families like Beauvais dit St-Gemme.)

Re: Joyce Elaine Beauvais

My mother wrote the origninal message in this thread, and thanks to those who replied we found and met Joyce. She told us so many stories and gave us a history of personal stories that have been enriched our lives, but she wouldn't give us the name of my mother's biological father.
She told us 3 things:
1. His name was Jack
2. He attended McGill (in 1948?)
3. His family and perhaps he lived at 399 Clarke Avenue, Montreal, Canada.

I have tried looking, and so far the only name that I have found of a Jack that ever lived at 399 Clarke Ave is Jack Scott. I can't find anything else. I have contacted McGill's archive's in the hope that i may find out something.
Could any of you direct me somewhere i haven't thought of, or perhaps if you have something, send me the lead. My mom and I simply want to know his identity and as much as we can find out about our family line.
Joyce is dead and had alzheimer's in her last years and so could not pass on anything even if she was willing.

Thanks in advance for you help!
