hello, i'm just now readying an old post i found interesting. There are Beavers in my family. From Colo, thru Nebraska, Illinois, Ohio, Penn. and several surrounding states. My grandpa ran away at about 13 and rarely spoke of his family, but from time to time did speak of 'Indian' ways of doing various things. When someone asked further questions he clammed up. Those were not times it was too popular to be 'Indian'. I imagine that was how come he wouldn't talk about it. We are trying to research his family to find out heritage, but this could be a while yet. What else do you recommend we try to learn about any Native American heritage?

Hello,
I am trying to help the husband of a friend solve the mystery of his biological parents.

What I know:

Baby boy last name of Beaver. He was born in June or July of 1958

The birth mother was 22 years old born about 1936. Her Ethnicity was listed as Indian, German, Dutch. Her race, Caucasian. She was a waitress and put her son up for adoption thru a Lutheran adoption service in Buffalo New York. There were two or three months between the birth and the adoption.

The biological father was 30 years old born about 1928. His Ethnicity was listed as Italian. His occupation was listed as a salesman.

Any help or direction is greatly appreciated!!
I am not sure if their is a connection between your Anderson and my Matthias, but I would like to find it if there is! I have 2 Aaron Beavers. One was born in 1870, but I don't know the name of his parents or his wife. They had at least one child, Luther Hezekiah Beaver b 1894 who married Effie Griffin in Union Co, NC. The other Aaron was b 1830 to my Matthias and his wife Elizabeth Blakeney. They were married in Lancasterin 1815.Co, SC. They had 16 children, so it is not hard for me to imagine a connection to your Lancaster Co. Beavers. I would certainly like to pursue this possible connection. Cynthia

I too am researching Anderson Beaver
(Bever), who is father of Henry Stewman (Stuman) Beaver (who married Larua Williams, daughter of Isabella Blackmon and J. Osbourne Williams) from Lancaster Co., SC. Laura was my great grandmother. I don't know if there is a connection from John Martin, father of Anderson, to Matthias and would be interested in any information.
I had assumed that Hosea was son of Anderson and not of John Martin. Does anyone have proof that Hosea belongs to Martin. AND what about Aaron?

Daniel Beaver and Betty Alexander Beaver were the parents of my late father in law Edgar Beaver 1931-2008. Edgar was the pastor at the Freewill Baptist Church in Barnsdall, OK for many years. He was married to Charlene Connolly Beaver for 50+ years. Charlene was formerly from Stroud OK and now lives in Bartlesville, OK. My name is Dr. Tracy Russell and I married their beautiful daughter Sheryl Ann almost six years ago. Michael is Sheryl's brother and he looks striking similar to a photo of his Grandfather Charles Connolly. Trevor is their grandson.

Beaver heritage?????

I have been told many a story about the cherokee indian heritage in the thomason/Grove/ Beaver family. knowone has been able to convince me that this isnt true? I hear alot of "yes I heard that too" "but we cant find it? I have found a marriage in Arkansas between john grove and lula beaver. The only one to my knowlege that has been seen? It was in for lula "Cherokee Nation, Indian" and john "Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory" in 5 Dec 1891. then i was just searching around not even looking for the name Davis (john's mothers name), but grove and beaver. I ran upon this name "Ah-yu-we-or" and right next to it was "or Isaac Davis" (susan davis's fathers name)This was in the Chapman rolls of the eastern Cherokee 1851 , rolls. almost all the other names except 2 are in english. It is very odd to say the least that I would run up on this? Also john and william grove did a run for land "This part of Oklahoma Territory that was opened up for homesteading in 1889 was officially named Shawnee on September 29, 1892, on January 1 the population 2, 604. The second run was made in 1891, and the last run for homestead claims on Kickapoo Reservation was made May 23, 1895. John and Samuel made the run and staked claims" again on a reservation? They were the only children from my understanding who made the run? Why is my question? I am going to keep searching. I tend to believe what was told to me by my mother and grandfather and mother and great grandmother and father and so on down the line...uncles and aunts and cousins have all heard about the cherokee heritage. I believe also there is indian on the lula Beaver side. I see a huge variation on Lula's name???? Ive never heard this name neither has my mother uncle aunt grandmother or sisters and brothers? I am wondering if edmondson really was her mother? That I havent figured out yet, yes I know it is on the death certificate. When people pass the next of kin write what they only know? (step mother maybe?) Has anyone seen the birth certificate for either of these people? i see alot of people take to a different name bieber but i have never heard of that name and that would have been significant info in a family? It might not be a english or german name but a indian name which is very common. I was told some of my family are on the cherokee and maybe even the chawtah rolls.....in my opinion if there was a significant name change in spelling or the entire name there is something even if it is a family story told , like i knew there were thomason's spelled with 2 s's in my lineage????? What do you think? COMMENT IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING????? Thankyou Kellie

She did marry Paul Fredrick Margraff in 1958. She has three children. Her first husband was killed in a hunting accident in 1943 and is buried at the Nelson cemetary as is my grandmother Leone. Her children are all still living. My grandfather liked to go by Woody I am told. There first child was Carolyn Anne. Who is now married to Jack Burdick. My father is Laurence Woodrow Swan, and goes by Larry. Their third child was John Charles Swan. My grandmother was an elementaty teacher in Elkland PA and my grandfather was a math teacher and a principal at Ulster School when he died. I am trying to find more on my Bieber, Beaver, to Biever that how they changed it through out the years. I can find Issac Levan Bieber and up but can't go back down. Oh my grandmother father was Clyde Beaver. He has a sibling Clair Beaver. who was a boy. Her mother was Grace Anna Learn. My grandmother was born in Lindley Ny and died in Elkland PA and is buried at Nelson cemetary.

Im trying to find info on William Frances Beaver. I know his parents were James Washington Beaver & Marthe E Moore. I've found out that he was born about 1904 in Kentucky & then moved to Indiana & then to Herrin, Illinois in 1920. He was married to Helen Sanders & had a son Elbert Eugene Beaver (born 3-10-1931 in Johnston City, Illinois) I'm trying to find date & place of death & if he had any other children besides the one with Helen. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated

She married Frank Roth sometime after 1914 when his first wife died. They lived on Staten Island. She died about 1963. I'm named for her and want to know more. I have some info on her that my mother told me, but nothing conclusive. I'd love to hear from you.

William and Sarah Beaver

I cannot get any farther back than William Beaver in my father's line. I have that he was born in the 1804-1810 range (most research points to 1808) in Virginia and that he died in Ohio. His wife, Sarah, was also from Virginia and they married in Virginia.

They moved to Ohio where most (I'm presuming all) of their children were born. George William b. 1843, William Beaver b. 1838, Peter Beaver b. 1832, John Beaver b. 1836, Nathan Beaver b. 1843, Betsey Beaver b. 1846, Warren Beaver b. 1849, Thomas Beaver b. 1850, Adeline Beaver b. 1852, and Phebe Beaver b. 1854

Not sure if Nathan and George were twins. Guessing yes, but don't know. George was my great, great grandfather.

I have a book with thousands of Moomaw's listed with many different spellings. They were French heugonauts. If you would email me I will look up any names for you in this book. It is not complete, but what is there seems to be accurate.

Lia_j@live.com
