I don't have any documentation. You might try getting a copy of his War of 1812 military reords or his pension records that might give more information about where he was born. The only other thing I can think of is to check the Estate and will records in Washington Co, GA. Russell died there in 1805. He was a veteran of the Revolutionary War and was given military grants in Washington Co, GA. Something had to have been done with that land. So an indept search of the land records in Washington Co, GA might provide what you are looking for.

Have you found any definate documentation that connects Abel Beckham of Washington County, Georgia to Russell Beckham/Daniel Beckham? I do feel certain there is a connection but I am looking for a Will or something that would name Abel.

I hope I'm not too late, I haven't accessed this site in quite some time but hope I can help or obtain assistance.

My dad's father passed when my father was 2yrs old and so I never met him. For other reasons the family doesn't keep in touch but I'm curious to know the relation between all the Beckham's in the World.

My grandfather's name is Robert Beckham Sr. I don't his father's name but you can view my family tree I only have my dad's brothers & sisters.
My grandmother Pecolia Beckham (Sinkfield) was his wife.

Jim, I have just received FamilyTree DNA FamilyFinder results for my husband, who is a descendant of Zachariah Beckham and Elizabeth Casey of Newton County, Arkansas.

Although our common ancestor may well be in another line, he has an interesting FamilyFinder match with Michelle Lovrien Slabaugh, who is a descendant of Thomas Beckham born ca. 1729 in Hanover Virginia, and his wife, Mary Hughes. Some of my husband's other matches also include the Hughes surname.

It may be helpful for more Beckham descendants from the Thomas Beckham family, and ours to participate in the FamilyFinder project.

I am looking for the parents of C.C. Beckham. His full name is Cleo Clayborn but he has been listed as C.C. and Clay. He was born about 1811, but have seen him in census also as 1815. He married Amanda McMeekin. They lived in Scott Co. Ky. and Henry Co. Ky. C.C. died Dec. 9, 1896 and he and his wife are buried in the Monterey Cemetery. C.C. and his wife had these children: William T; Benjamin Taylor; Mary Ellen; Marion; Samuel; Eugene; Cary; Jake Christian; Susan; and Rosa.Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking for C.C.'s parents for years!

Tina, I am not on my home computer right now so I cannot share much about John and Elizabeth Henderson Beckham except frommemory. These days mine is not so reliable, but I will give it a whirl!

Both grew up in Granville County. Elizabeth's father was sheriff and her brother Richard hired Daniel Boone to explore Kentucky and help establish Richard's claim to vast tracks of land there. I believe John's father was William. At any rate, the couple moved to Union County, SC with many of her family (sisters and brothers) and John had tghe first store at the Cowpens. However, he was known as a ne'er-do-well as he never was able to provide very well for his large brood of children. John served as a scout for the militia under the command of thomas Sumpter and was a real thorn in the side ot British cavalry leader Col. Banestre Tarleton. In fact, on a cold winter day, Tarleton and his men rode up in the yard, demanded food and lodging, with which Elizabeth complied, saying he would not burn her home if she complied. Nevertheless, when he pulled out the next day, he burned everything to the ground. Elizabeth and her children spent that night in the corn crib, covering themselves as best they could with corn shucks and the next day they made their way to one of her sisters' homes. John trained horses for Wade Hampton before and after the Rev. War. I am descended from their daughter, Mary, who married
Clayton Stribling.

They were practically next door neighbors in the 1810 census. I have a lot of documents on them. My problem is trying to figure out who James, Sr's father was. Much of the confusion comes from the James Beckham of Culpeper. He also had a brother named William. James stayed in Culpeper and William moved to Granville, NC. James had a son named Elijah and I thought he was my relative. James Heidlebaugh sent me that Elijah's will and I am now certain that he was not a relative. My Elijah and his family were in Amherst county which is next to Buckingham in 1820. I am pretty sure that his father was William and his uncle was James and his mother was Sally Rector. I am also certain that William and James were Rev. war veterans. Their records have been confused with the records of James and William from Culpeper and Granville.

My ancestor is James C Beckham from Buckingham, Va. He and his father also James Beckham had property in Wreck Island Creek.
I am having trouble connecting them siblings and ancestors. I was also wondering if William could be James C Beckham's brother? Have you found anymore info about them?

We are related. I'm also from the William Beckham II. His son John is the brother of my 5 X Great Grandfather Thomas Beckham. I traced our tree to William Beckham born 1680 Creake, Norfolk, England. He Married Phyllis Melba Randolph in 1701 Orange County, Virginia. She was born 1680 Orange County, Virginia. I haven't put all the information in my ancestry files yet. Elizabeth was the daughter of Elijah and Sarah Jane Manley Beckham. She was born in VA, but moved to TN with the family in 1820's. In 1868 she and her siblings sued their brother, Lewis, for an estate division. I have more information if you need it.

I am looking for family information on William Beckham. In 1821 he was 63 years old in Buckingham County, VA. His wife was Sally Rector, married 18 Apr 1783. He was a revolutionary war veteran, pension #37738. He had a daughter, Louise, who was 14 in 1821. It appears that he had a brother, James and maybe a father named James. He and James, Jr. are in the 1820 census in Buckingham county.

My GGGreat grandmother was Eliza Ann Beckham B.03 Nov 1852-D.05 Dec 1919, buried in Ovilla Cemetery, Ovilla, Ellis, TX
I have her father as James Beckum born in Maury Co.,TN Married Ruth Robason 08 Oct 1835. Eliza Married Johnnie Vincent 29 Mar 1871 in Lewis Co., TN. They moved to TX in 1883 and settled in Ellis Co. and lived there all their lives with their 5 children; Fannie, Felix, Jennie Marshell, and Myrtle. I don't have any info on James Beckum except what I have here.

The Lee Beckham you mentioned is Andrew Lee Beckham, son of William M Beckham and Rebecca Lavina Johnson. He was born 13 Oct 1889 in Palestine, Anderson Co, TX and died 4 Apr 1975 in Weatherford, Parker Co, TX. He is buried in the Elmwood Cemetery, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto Co, TX. He was married (1st) to Ora May ________. He was married (2nd) to Joe Williams. William M Beckham was the son of Caswell G L Beckham and Mary L ?. He was probably born in Giles Co, TN but I cannot proove that. Caswell G L Beckham was the son of Benjamin Beckham and Mildred Amelia Ballard. I have your family connected back to 1638 in Virginia. I am looking for William Mosby Beckham who married in 1811 to Susannah wells in KY. He was born in the 1790's and may have died around 1850 his wife was still living in the 1860 census. He was in Barren and Warren County, ky most of his life. He is the Father of Charles Henderson Beckham of Warren County KY. I would like to know where his grave is located. I am the daughter of Buford Martitia Beckham, who was Theron Theodore's brother in addition to Harry Lynn and Lady Madge Howell. I live in Bakersfield, CA, and have been looking for the Beckham brothers and their children for a long time. Theron Theodore and Marcella Thornton had 6 children, I believe. As far as I know, Harry Theodore is still alive (in Washington or Nevada?)James Roger had some trouble with the law and may be in a California prison, Jack M Beckham sadly died in California, but his son Jack II is a professor at the University of Riverside. Not sure about Gary Harlin and Michael Jon. The youngest daughter is Linda Diane, and she may live in Bakersfield, CA. I would love to hear from any of the Beckhams. I miss my father Buford tremendously and would very much like to find out about his mysterious life in the US before moving to Brasil in 1952, a trip he never returned.
