hoping someone out there knows of my Beddoes line..earliest I have confirmed it George Genior Beddoes, my Great GF. My grnadfather was Reginald Walcott Beddoes..he had brothers Algenon geoffrey, John Lancelot, Sister Mabel and some others. Reginald married annie Hopkinson, who died in 1930.

Hi I am looking for relations of Albert Beddoes B1882 D1919
He was married to my grandmother Elizabeth Griffiths in Shrewsbury and when he died she went to Derby and married Joseph James Nicholls, but they both came from Shrewsbury originally.
Albert and Elizabeth had 3 daughters Elizabeth, Gladys and Dorothy and when Albert died they were 'adopted' by Reverend Louch. He took the children to Liverpool but I know that Elizabeth (aka Betty) married William Day and lived in Derbyshire.
It would be great to hear about this lost branch of the family if anyone can help.My uncle George is the only surviving member at 83 yrs old but he remembers some of this history

I have come a long way since 2007 in my research!!

I came across a Beddoes relation of yours still living in the area (not sure he would agree to me publishing his name in a public forum, so I won't!!). He put me in touch with a long lost cousin of my Dad's (they share the same Grandmother - Helen Marian Beddoes (nee Wheeler) and we all met up last summer! My grandfather was news to them and I think they almost fell of their chairs too!!

Not sure how connected you are to the Beddoes still living in the Tenbury area and whether you are keen to get in touch (as I'm afraid I don't know very much). I can always drop them an email to see if they are interested in touching base with you.

I just happened to come across your post of 5 September 2007 inquiring about William Bassett Beddoes. I must admit I almost fell off my seat when I read it. I have just started my own research into the Beddoes family as my grandfather, Philip Bassett Beddoes is presumably William's brother.

It would be great to compare notes if you're still interested in the family and see if there's any gaps we can plug for each other.

i hope i didn't scare you off with the infomation regarding vivienne.after speaking to my mum,your vivienne is definately my mum's birth mother.we verified the infomation with her adoption papers.
mum was born 10/2/1945 at the crown street womens hospital in sydney australia.there was no fathers name.she was adopted out to vera & david ashown when mum was about 2yrs of age.
beatrice & charles were vivienne's parents.i do know that vivienne had other children but don't know any of their names only rosemary.
i don't know of charles's family members but i do know beatrice's mother and father's name.mary jane mason & sidney percival talbot mason.
if you know anything about any of the family,i would be very interested to hear back.i have been searching for my mum's birth family for a very long time without hardly any infomation to go on.any help is much appreciated.

the people you mentioned definately sound like my mothers family members.vivienne happens to be my mother's birth mother.she gave mum up for adoption around 1947 to vera ashdown and for the life of me cannot remember her husbands name at the moment.i do know that there was a sibling rosemary that is my mother's sister
beatrice was my step dad's(colin talbot forbes smith)mother.
i have been searching for any infomation for many years without luck at all.

I am also researching the Beddoes family but do no have a Charles E E Beddoes in my tree, however there in 1929 in Auckland New Zealand there is a divorce file (ref 134 BBAE 4985)
for Beatrice Hinemoa and Charles Ernest Beddoes.
There was also a marriage Vivienne Bernice T Beddoes in 1948 (ref 08850) to a Arthur Leslie Doncliff.
Hope this may be of assistance to you.
Do you know who Charles parents were or where he was born?

The parents of Leslie R. Beddoes were William Beddoes and Carolyn/Carrie (unknown last name). They are on the 1910, 1920, and 1930 censuses for Kansas City, Missouri. William appears to have been born in Ohio ca. 1861. In 1870 Licking Co., OH, there is a Margaret Beddoes, age 33, and her son, William age 9, living with a Mary Williams, age 64, b. Wales. If that is William, the father of Leslie, then perhaps Mary could be Margaret's mother. More checking needed on that. William and Carolyn/Carrie also had a daughter, Winnie Louise, born ca. 1897.

Now a couple of questions. Did your Leslie Beddoes ever live in South Texas, specifically the town of LaFeria in Cameron County? (This would have been in the 1920-1930 time frame.) If so, do you know if he had a daughter named Dollie Bess whose mother was Frances Parker Beddoes?

I've just started to research my paternal grandfather's family. He was an orphan and never knew who his parents were.
Discovered that he was an illegitimate child born in 1910 and that his mother was Helen Marian Wheeler from Tenbury Wells.
She later married William Bassett Beddoes (in 1915) from Coreley in Shropshire.
Would love to know hear from anyone with William and Helen in their family tree and whether William and Helen had any children.

Hello, I am a Beddoes by marriage and am working on my husband's lineage. I have a possible match, though nothing definitive. I have a John Beddoes, son of William Beddoes, born March 14, 1841. Mother's name would be Emma Ward. William was born 12 Dec 1802 in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, England. I hope this may help you some.

Yes through marriage, related to WilliamBeddoes and James. William born at Diddlebury in 1780, James 1824. James was born James Weale, and was illigitimate son of William. He inherited Sparchford from William in 1843.

My family came from the Ironbridge area of Shropshire and moved to Garston in Liverpool.
My Grandfather was John and had sisters Alice, Elizabeth, Ethel and brothers Hubert who moved to Kettering and Henry and Bertram who were killed in WW1. The family moved to Liverpool and my Grandfather married Winfred Kerr, my Grandfather was born in 1900 and died 1969, my Grandmother born 1900 and died 1949. They had children William, Harold, John (my dad), Nora, Doris, Irene and Ethel.
Look forward to hearing from Beddows's out there.

My girlfriend and her younger brother are trying to find their real father . All they know about him is that his surname is Beddoes he married Jackie also from Manchester in the late 50's. It is believed that after they split he got into a spot of bother with the law and was convicted of running a house of ill repute. I will post more information on here as I find it.

my great grandmothers name was Agnes Beddoes,she married James Hickman in Lindridge,this is on the boarder
of Shropshire,my great grandfather came from Cleobury
Mortimer,Shropshire,the 1851 census said she was born in Bolton Lanchashire,but in the parish records for Lindridge,
there were a lot of Beddoes.try and get your mothers birth certificate,this would give her fathers name and her place of birth,to work on.

1891 census look up for heredforshire area.

I do not have any definite names and dates of my Beddoes earlier than 1830. Henry Whaley Beddoes my great grandfather was born in 1830. There is a George Beddoes b.1794 son of William b.1764 who i have been given as possible family.
