Don't know if this will help (10 years after your query) but my great-great grandfather Elijah Bedford died in Vergennes, Kent County,in about 1875. That's northwest of Hastings. He was born in 1798, either in South Carolina or Nova Scotia (depending on your source.

Does anyone have any documentation on Elizabeth Bedford Byars daughter of Jonas Bedford and Mercy Raymond that shows her as a Mary Elizabeth?

I have seen so many trees listing her as a Mary Elizabeth but have found no documentation for it. Did someone just put Mary in her name and everyone else copied it or was she Mary Elizabeth?

She was my 5th great grandmother through son Jonas.

My Bedford line goes from Harrow Weald,Middx (Hendon) Approx 1840 - 1960 then back to Twyford, Bucks.I cannot trace any further confirmed links prior to c1730.
I would be interested in anyone who may have a Bedford link from those areas. I also have Parish records for ALL Bedford surnames from Bucks 1538 - 1838 if any interest.

Hello to both of you. I am researching the Bedford line too, but haven't figured out how it connects to me yet. I know you posted this 10 years ago, but if you get this message, did you ever find any documentation on Herod and Louisa, and whether Herod and Rufus were twins? I believe my grandfather James Beauston was possibly one of Herod and Louisa's children.

WILLIAM BARNETT BEDFORD was my grandmother's brother, born on 19 May 1880 in Pontefract, Yorks, son of Hector Bedford (born St. Helena Island 1848)and Susan Ann Wright. He was a Cook on the TITANIC, previously, employed on the 'OCEANIC'. He was commemorated on a tomb stone in Ann's Hill Cemetery, Gosport, with other members of the family, which appears to have been destroyed. Are you a family member?

HI, I know this is a really old post, but my grandmother was Elma Augusta Bedford (died in 2005), Bruce's half sister...I do know that Boyd Bedford Sr.'s parents were Lewis Bedford and Elma Baker and Lewis Bedford's parents were Mary Ann Corby and Ellis Bedford. I received this information from a woman I randomly found from the Timothy Bedford side. Apparently Timothy and Ellis were cousins. Boyd Jr. (we called him Uncle June, my great uncle) he passed away in 2008, maybe you already know all of this because of how old this post is but I hope I've helped in some way. Elma's daughter, my mom Joan still lives up in Susquehanna as well. I find all of this stuff amazing so if you have any information I'd love to hear it or share it with you! I knew from my mom's notes from her mom Elma that Bruce was LaRena's son and Boyd Bedford SR. had adopted him as his own with the last name Bedford. So awesome! :)

My oldest Bedford ancestor, Robert Bedford, was born in Wales in the mid 18th century. He came to Pennsylvania in 1793 as an indentured servant, and settled in Ontario, Canada as a Loyalist during the American Revolutionary War.I do not know where in Wales Robert was born, and I do not know the names of his parents or any sibblings. I have been looking for many years, and have not found any Bedford family trees for any time period for Bedford families in Wales. I have found references to Noel Brian Bedford, a Welsh "footballer", who was born in Wales in 1933, and I know that there have been Bedford families in Wales for centuries. But I find no genealogies for Welsh Bedfords. If you have any Welsh Bedfords in your ancestry, I would love to hear from you. This will be a place to start!

Anne Bedford b some place around 1601-1605 in London England she died [I think in Mass.] She was married to Phillip Hampson b abt 1601 in London. There were 4 children born into this union[that I know of] they were: Samuel; Jonathan;
*Beatrice b 15 July 1623 Holy Trinity, London Eng., AND MARRIED ABRAHAM JOSELYN. The 4th child was Hannah.
I am tracing the JOSLIN;JOSELYN; JOSSELYN family of which I am a descendant.

BTW, Winnifred Campbell had 3 husbands. George House (Detroit), Philo Beers Campbell (Charlevoix), and then ? Schultz (Traverse City). We know about Mr. Schultz through her grandmother, Julia's, obit. The marriage to Philo Beers Campbell, her father's cousin, must have ended in divorce or annulment -- both he & she remarried a few years later.

Hi. I am doing research on Lennie Beers Ingalls Campbell, who married Ben Campbell, brother of Alanson. Julia Bedford Campbell's son William married Una Cram, and their daughter, Winnifred, married Lennie & Ben's son Philo Beers Campbell.

I'm curious as to why Bedford and Mary Wiseman are listed as Elizabeth Wiseman's parents? In the 1850 Yancey county census, there is only one Elizabeth Wiseman listed (12) and her parents? are William (34) and Senia (23--a stepmother?)?

I see you are related to harrison tip miller.He was married to Bridget harkins born 1843 in Donegal Ireland Maried tip 1859 died 1930. Does this sound right? I'm related to Thomas Bedford and Ruth ann Miller.They also had a son James born 1861.Related Julia-Alanson Lansing Campbell-son-William and Una Cram-daughter Winifred and George House-son William A House and Jewell Seaman-daughter -myself Veronica Elzinga. they were married in 1794,she died in 1854 in the U.S

I have John Henry Bedford marrying Lily Townend in 1899 in Wakefield. I did not know about Florence Woffenden. However I have been doing some digging and it is possible that John Henry did marry twice.
Lily was born in 1878 in Horbury and had 5 children with John Henry that I know of. Lily died in early Feb 1951 and is buried in Horbury Cemetery.She died in Southmoor House which was part of South Yorks Mental Health NHS Trust. Is it possible that Florence was working there, or had some connection to there and possibly met John Henry when he was visiting? I see that John Henry married Florence in the March quarter of 1951 in Wakefield.

My family tree comes down from the Levi Goff branch. My dad is George Bedford Goff.

Sophia Elizabeth wailes born 1848 married to fred Bedford born 1855 Horbury, Father of John henry Bedford born 1878, married to Florence Woffenden, nee Clayton born 1913, mother of Brain Bedford born 1941, father to debra anne Bedford born 1963 (me!). but who was John henrys first wife, why did florence leave her husband to marry a man nearly 40 years older?

Yes, you can see many effners in IL by googling IL online databases. you can see land records, marriages and other info.

Also my ggrandmother was Elizabeth bedford Effner, the granddaughter of Elizabeth Effner by her oldest son, John B, who was married 3 times with a variety of children and many stories.

Eliz Effner married George Gates Sheldon, who goes back to the Mayflower society.
