WOW...Hi Amy,

Frank and Mary are my Grandparents. Dottie Reaser is my Aunt. I'm 58 years old now. I have 3 younger brothers...Jackie, Barry and Frankie.
I remember going to Aunt Dottie and Uncle Harry's farm to visit when I was a kid.
My Dad was Jack or John F. Bedo
My Dad passed away Aug. 13, 2003 in Philly, Pa. before I could find him. I hadn't seen him since I was about 12 years old. I'd been searching, but couldn't find him!
I've been intouch with Uncle Frankie. His son found me on here. I've also written to Aunt Dottie trying to find my Dad before I found out he was gone, and she wrote me a letter letting me know she hadn't seen my Dad in years. I still send her christmas cards and Uncle Frankie.
Uncle Frankie's 2nd. wife emailed some old pictures of the family she scanned for me. I didn't have any pictures of my Grandparents and only a couple of Dad after the divorce from my Mom Arlene.
Maybe we could share pictures of the family. And who are your mother and father? I haven't seen any of the family since I was very young too!
It's really Great hearing from you. Thank you!!!
I hope to hear from you again soon.

Your Great Aunt Linda,
(Linda Kay Bedo)is my full name
lindabedo@yahoo.com is my email.
And what I can tell you is; Uncle Frank is in Nashville Tennessee, Uncle Jack is in Arizona. The other brothers, Bobby and Joe I'm not sure ,I think one of them may be in New Jersey. There is also an Aunt Anna. I'm not sure where she is. They are all related to my grandmother Dottie. I have not seen any of them since I was young.. and I'm 34 now.

I would love more information please!! I descend from John Bedo and his wife Ann?. John and Stephen grew Hops in Chilham, John was buried there as was his wife Ann. I had worked out that Elizabeth Rouse was the daughter of John and Thomasine Baker and that John was a carpenter. I have been so busy tracing the Bedo line that I haven't followed up on the Rouse line or indeed other families and until recently knew nothing of Stephen Rouse. I have traced the Bedo's to Barham and Ash near Sandwich they were parish wardens and surveyors I imagine as things changed so did the prospects of descendants as John Bedo's daughter, Mary ended up running the toll at Selling and finally finished up in Herne Workhouse.

My email is raftis@iinet.net.au which might be easier.

Many thanks for your posting.

Rosalie

Your Stephen b 1770, John b 1761 and Mary Bedo b 1768 were all children of the Benjamin Bedo that married Elizabeth Rouse in 1761 at Chartham and Benjamin Bedo senior was buried at Chilham in 1795. Elizabeth Rouse was the daughter of John and Thomasine Rouse nee Baker and he was master carpenter on the Sondes Estate at Sheldwich. I can let you have more information if you are interested. Benjamin Bedo was the brother-in-law of Stephen Rouse parish clerk of Minster on the Isle of Sheppey and is often mentioned in his diaries.

I have been researching Bedo families around Chilham and Selling trying to find a common link. Benjamin is a common name in several of them. Elizabeth Bedo married Edmund John Welch, she was the daughter of Benjamin Bedo and Sarah Bartlett. Benjamin was the son of Benjamin Bedo and Maria Baker. This Benjamin was the son of Stephen Bedo and Elizabeth Shilling. I believe but have not proven that Stephen Bedo was the son of Benjamin Bedo and Elizabeth Rouse who married in CHartham in 1761. I think my John Bedo was a son of theirs too. He married Ann? and had several children including a Benjamin but it is his daughter Mary I descend from. ANother brother William married Florinda Valder.

Hope you can understand it all but basically the name is not common and their are several families living around Faversham area and surrounds and they seem to be all related. I have found Florinda Valders nephew lodging with Mary Daws nee Bedo in Margate in 1841 so that give a link from William Bedo to the daughter of John Bedo.

Hi Mildred,

Thank you for your response. Most of the information verified what I had, however, you had extra details that I did not. The part that has me confused was your last paragraph about William Henry Bedow's Death Certificate. You said that it stated he died 9/1941 (I have a MN Death Certificate printout that shows 1944) Do you know which is correct? Also, I have his wife margaret dying 5/24/1944, but the Certificate you have shows that he was widowed. That doesn't work either, does it? Then you said that his father (meaning William I believe) was William, but wouldn't his father be Edward Ruthven, and mother Sarah Barnhart? Do you think that Charlotte was confused when she said William was his father and by Alta Barnhart she meant Sarah Barnhart?

Do you have a copy of Edwin Bedow's death certificate? Do you mean Edward Ruthven or Edwin, Edward's father? I would love it if you could e-mail me a copy of it.

I would rather e-mail you personally vs. this board. Is that possible? My address is bkrush@aol.com. Thanks again, Mildred
