Hi - guess we are cousins then! James and Harriet are my 2x ggparents. Elias - your ggfather was my gguncle. His brother John was my ggfather, married Esther Aspinall in 1864. I have photos of pages of the Bedworth family bible - given to Esther and John on their wedding day, which my sister in England now has. you can contact me off list at jakgeneathotmaildotcom. Substitute the symbols for at and dot of course. I would love to see elias's photo. Have John and Esthers photos too, and several of their children, my grandmother Kate included. Where are you living? still in the Birmingham area? I moved to Western Australia from Lancashire in 1975. John & Esther Bedworth went to Lancashire soon after their marriage, about 1866. regards

Jackie
West Oz

Sorry Sarah, I don't. The family bible only starts from their marriage date of 1864. Do you know who Marias parents were? It may be she is a cousin of my ancestors or something. regards, Jackie. West Oz

Hi Penny - I was very interested to see your post as I am descended from John Bedworth, older brother of your 2x great grandfather Ferdinand. John was my great grandfather. He married Esther Aspinall in 1864, moved to Lancashire in about 1866, and they had 13 children. My grandmother Kate Bedworth born 1884 was their 11th child. Only 5 of the children survivied to adulthood, Kate, Mary-Ann (known as Polly), Elias, James and Lily. My sister has the Family Bible given to John and Esther at the time of their marriage, which we inherited through our late father from Kate, his mother. COurtesy of my first cousin Stan I have in my tree a further 5 generations prior to James Ferdinando Bedworth and Harriet Dawes, back to Francis Bedworth born abt 1696 in Birmingham. Do you have anything different? Would love to hear what you have and see if you know where the Ferdinando name came from? I also have a photo of John Bedworth - which may give you an idea of what his brother Ferdinand looked like.
regards

Jackie
West Oz

Through IGI have managed to trace Ferdinands (& even Ferdinando) back several generations, but I was wondering about the larger family. Thanks for your reply.
