Re: West Virginia Bee family

Hi, I'm new to the Ancestry.com community and am tracing my grandfather, Ernest Bee Terry, who was born in Ingleside, West Virginia in 1892. I'm assuming that since his middle name is Bee, he has to have maternal relatives with that surname. But I don't know either his mother's or father's names. I also have discovered quite a few "Terry" families in Mercer County West Virginia but that's as far as I've been able to go. Any chance you know of a connection between the Bee family and the Terry family?
Thank you!
Margaret Terry (ps. the ancestry account is in my husband's name, hence the different last name on the email address.)

Hello Barbara, I've only just seen your message of 2005 about Tooleys of Boston and wonder if you can help me. My ancestors go back to Thenford in Northants in the 17thC but I've always thought there was a connexion with the Boston Tooleys be cause a coat of arms in the village church closely resembles the one commemorating a Tooley in, I think, St Botolphs.(whether my ancestors were entitled to use it I very much doubt!) Have you any clues? best wishes Eric Tooley

Who were the parents of Johathan Bee? He was probably born in PA and he died in Indiana. He is buried in the Clinton Falls Cem in the town of Clinton Falls, Putman Co., IN. He was married to Eliazbeth Naughgle/Noggle. I do not have a death date for her. Their children were William Bee, John Henry Bee and Jacob Bee. I descend out of William who moved to Howard Co., MO after he married Louisa Jane Bell in Lawrence Co., IN in March of 1850. I have tried to trace Jonathan to the PA Bee's but have not been able to. Anyone have any ideas?
Thank You,
Glee Krapf
PS my grandmother's maiden name was Bee.

I am trying to research my gg-grandmothers family. My grandmother was Eleanor Julia Gourley (1925-1983), her mother was Eleanor Bee (1897-1971) married Thomas J Gourley Jr., her mom was Ella (Mallinson?) Bee (abt 1876-?) married possibly Frederick Bee. The Bee line from here goes to Ireland. I have found a few Bee families listed on census' however, I can't seem to connect the dots. If anyone has more info for me I would greatly appreciate it.

The instructions are not very clear and though I use Facebook a lot I can't find your site. And doing a search on Bee is useless because they include every name that has bee anywhere in it.

I have Lincolnshire Bees as ancestors of my kids and would like to find the site - please clarify.

Hi
One of Preston's daughter's was Annie Bee. She had two daughters. One died in her 20's, I think.
The other one, Mary married an Edwin Grainger and they lived in Manchester. Both dead now.

Regards

Martin Maggs

Agnes Bee was my g-g-grandmother. She was born 25 November 1845 to James Bee and Helen Walkinshaw. In 1862 she married Thomas Richardson (who may have been a relation - his mother was an Elizabeth Walkingshaw). They had 4 sons and 5 daughters. My g-grandfather was their son Thomas Richardson.
Would love to hear from anyone looking at the same lines.

Death of Maria Bee - 1837

Taken from the Houston Telegraph, Texas, 30 December 1837

Died on the night of the 12th inst. of sore throat, in her fourth year, Maria, daughter of Barnard E. Bee, secretary of war. This infant had just landed on our shores (accompanied by her mother from South Carolina, when it pleased the almighty disposer of events, thus early to close her career. "Chaste as morning dew, She sparkled, was exhaled, and went to heaven."

Education had already made lovely (even to strangers) this early victim of the grave, she was extremely interesting to the numerous passengers who came in company with her on board the steamer Columbia, from Charleston to the port of Galveston. She sleeps in a strange land, but not foreign to the fountain of the universal life and immortality. Her suffering parents cannot be otherwise than deeply afflicted by this melancholy bereavement. In the green hour of grief, consolation from man has but little peace to bestow - comfort to them must come from a higher source:

'Tis hard to force is better part,
From the distracted soul away,
But heaven decrees ! man's busting heard
In vain repines; he must obey.

Cousin Christie,

This is all that we have on Caroline, excepting some personal observations from knowing her. She lived with her daughter, Margaret, my mother in law, for many years until her death, since her husband deserted her when the children were small. Cliff grew up with her always in the home.

Carolina Ernestina Behm/Boehm:

Born: September 12, 1865 in Furstencee, Germany (see below)*
Arrived Chicago, IL: Oct. 7, 1882
Married: Nov. 17, 1887 in Chicago, Cook County, IL
Died: Dec. 1, 1941 in Forest Ridge, Bremen County, IL
Buried: Elmhurst, IL

*(I cannot find a town named Furstencee; however there is a Falkensee and a Furstenberg near Berlin. 'Don't know where I learned this city, but the family said she was born north of Berlin - which could be Falkensee). There is a lot of information on Google for this town - some of it can be translated and some folks are named Behm.

Good Luck, Lois
