My grandfather Charles Amle(Emil) Beers was Philip's brother.
t
Yesterday I learned that their sister Pearl was born in England.

I am researching the story that Harry/Henry Van Beers' father died in Rotterdam (he drown in beer vat after slipping from the catwalk. CE Beers said that Harry was one of five kids. Being the oldest, he was Indentured (as a cabinboy and cook's helper) on a sailing ship at age 11 to USA. He settled in NJ after jumping ship on his second trip to NYCity. I have cert of deaths for Harry b.1870, Harry Jr b.1894, and Harry Beers b.1917 of Schenectady. The last two Harry's died on their motorcycles.

I believe Phylis is my dad's cousin Corky, daughter of Philip Cook Thomas Beers.I just joined Ancestry and today I found two listing for Henry Beers traveling from Rotterdam to NYC in 1932 (age 62) and 1935( age 65). These trips were for family funerals in Holland. My father Charlie Beers told me that Harry also used Henry and Hendrik Beers. Call us at 518 372-3109 Rob and Kathy

Barbery Youngs married Robert Beers. I believe that she was 100% Native American. Why? I have a photo that I believe is her daughter Ida Margery, and she has her nose pierced on both sides with silver studs. I also have a photo of Barbery Youngs grandson and there is no doubt that he is Native American.

Obituary for Thomas Brooks Beers (1834-1904)

OBITUARY
June 16, 1904 "Emporia Gazette"
Emporia, Kansas
Thomas Beers died this morning at 2 o'clock at the family home of West Fifth Avenue after a long illness. Mr. Beers was born in 1834 in Connecticut and moved to Illinois where he enlisted for three years in a regiment that went out of Chicago in the Civil War. At the end of the three years, he reenlisted and served throughout the war in the Seventh Illinois and the Thirteenth Missouri. He was married to Mary McColloch in 1868 in Monticello, Indiana. They came to Emporia in 1869 where they had lived ever since with the exception of one year that they lived in Independence. Mr. Beers could tell many interesting bits about early Lyon County history. He was undersheriff for two terms, in 1874 and again in 1882, and lived in the old courthouse. One of his sons, Will Beers, was born there. The news of the tearing down of the old courthouse affected his strongly. Mr. Beers also put up the fountain on the courthouse lawn. At Independence, Mr. Beers was deputized as an officer in the hunt for the famous Benders and arrested the people who were supposed to be that gang, but who were afterward released on a writ of habeas corpus. Mr. Beer's health had been bad for years and for the past four months, he had been almost helpless. A stroke of paralysis, with heart and stomach trouble, finally became too much for his enfeebled constitution, and his passing was as a child falling asleep. During the years that he had been unable to lead an active life, his garden and lawn occupied much of his time and his neighbors on West Fifth have missed his welcoming greeting this summer. His greatest pride was in his children, all of whom are upright men and women who never have failed in honoring their parents. Mrs. Beers had been her husband's faithful and untiring nurse and his appreciation was daily shown. One son, Lovett Beers, left here last Saturday after a two week visit. His home is in New York City. Will Beers lives in Emporia as do also the daughters, Gussie McCord, Nannie Beers, and Zilla Beers. The family has the sympathy of a great many friends. One son by a former marriage, Charles Beers, lives in El Reno, Oklahoma. He has been telegraphed and may be here for the funeral. The funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home and will be conducted by Rev. S. C. Kerr. The interment will be made in Maplewood Cemetery.

Alex Roller
aroller@opusnet.com

My only issue, none of the Beers are sure of her name.

She is the daughter of Jonathon Wesley and Malinda Ellen Wells of Leslie, Idaho.

I know for some time the Beers family I am speaking of where in the California, Oregon and Utah areas as well as Idaho.

Otherwise, your guess is as good as mine. I'm making a trip to Salmon here soon to speak with some of the Beers family situated there to see if I can connect Juan with anyone in the vicinity.

Your Duval line was in Idaho?

Suz

The post I'm replying to is so old that I'm afraid that this won't be of any help to you. I am a descendent of Robert Beers and Phebe Palmer through their son, David Robert and his wife Mary?. From there my line goes to John W. Beers who married Mary Jane McCray in 1874. I'd like to know more about John Beers. He died before the 1891 census leaving Mary Jane with 3 small children, the oldest of whom was my grandmother, Mary Elizabeth {Mae} Beers. She married Samuel Moores in ME and had 10 children who survived to maturity. She was my grandmother

My 'ears" perked up I saw your mention of Barberry (d 1857). My 2great grandmother is Rachel Beer Souder Tilger (1821 PA - 1917 PA). I think her parents are Robert Beer and Barberry Youngs (1787 - 1857). They're all connected to Clearfield County, PA. I'd love to correspond. Judy Belle jbhorick at yahoo.com

To all,

I just recently joined this mailing list and I saw some mails regarding an Egbert Beers. I am not completely sure, but I think that Egbert has his roots in Friesland, in the Netherlands.
I have a large number of several Dutch families who all eventually are called Beers of van Beers. There are about 5 or 6 different families who are not related (or at least I can't find the relations, because around 1650 there are no surnames listed.)
However the name Egbert is quite special and is rarely used. So I'm quite sure that his parents have moved to America and Egbert has been called to his Grandfather. I am very curious if the information you have consists only of his birthdate. Maybe I can look for further details here in the Netherlands, if anyone could give me for instance a list of the names of his kids. I hope to be able to help you solve the puzzle. You can sent an email to stamboombeers@gmail.com

Sorry, Jen, but Egbert is one of the great mysteries in the wacky world of Beers and you know more than many of his descendants. He frustrated Mrs. Regan greatly, too. Send me an email, beerscentral@rooadrunner.com, and I'll send you the Egbert document for what that's worth. Possible clues, yes; answers, no.

Daniel Beer (1760- ????) was married to a Margaret "Maggie" Waterson (1758-????). Daniel Beer 2 (1780-18423) married to Elizabeth Rimer (1785-1878) Daniel Beer (b. 1760) I have found in Ancestry public member trees was a Uncle to Daniel Beer 2 (b.1780) and having a father of Moses Beers.
