I'm looking for information about my grandmother. She married Frank M. Beeson, born who was born in Creston Iowa in 1891. I don't know when they married, but according to the 1920 census she was living in Kansas City, MO with my grandfather and had three children (including my father). By the 1930 census, she was gone. All relatives have now passed away who could provide any stories about her. Any information would be most appreciated.

EDWARD BEESON M. ELIZABETH GRUBB

I keep coming across this listing, but am having difficulty finding and documentation to support this record:

Edward Beeson b. about 1650-52 m. (1) Rachel Pennington, and (2) Elizabeth Grubb.

I've seen some listing showing Elizabeth ?, or with her first married name of Holmes. But I've also seen where Elizabeth Grubb, b. 12 Aug 1691, daughter of Henry Grubb and Mary Perkins m. Edward Beeson FORTY YEARS HER SENIOR! If so, guess that is why she was young enough to have lots of kids. Two by Edward and 4 by Joseph Rich after Edward passed.

Can anyone tell me if this is so, and how to locate some substantial record/documenatio to confirm it?

Thank!!!

Transcribed by James Cookman, a descendant.
Transcribed true copy of an article sent to me by Carolyn McDaniel, who received it from Marilyn Kucera. Photocopied from a file in the possession of the Chester County Historical Society.
OLD PHILADELPHIA FAMILIES XLVII Penington
Conducted by Frank Willing Leach
Published in the North American Philadelphia Sunday April 26, 1908

Isaac and Mary (nee Proude) had six children, as follows: John, Mary, Isaac, another son, name unknown, who died young; William and Edward. The eldest of the six children, John Penington, was the author of several Friends pamphlets, two of which, relating to George Keith’s schism, were published in London in 1695. His "Testimony" concerning his father is published in the collected works of the latter. He died unmarried May 8, 1710.
Mary Penington, the only daughter, was born February 10, 1657-58, married November 4, 1686, Daniel Wharley, a London merchant. Some Wharleys, among the early settlers of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, were probably related.
Isaac Penington, the second son, was drowned at sea in 1669, when a young man, on his return from a voyage to Barbadoes.
William Penington, born August 3, 1665, was a merchant in London, was married and had issue. He died May 5, 1703.
It was Edward Penington, the youngest of the six children, born in the Parish of Amersham, Buckinghamshire, September 3, 1667, who came to Pennsylvania and established the family name in the domain of his brother-in-law, the founder of the province.
Note: No Rachel
Margaret Thornburgh a Beeson?

Was was looking into Margaret Thornburgh, daughter of Walter Thornburgh and mother Margaret, whom many folks list as a Beeson (Parents Richard Beeson & Charity Grubb). However, she does not appear in Richard Beeson's will, listed on the Beeson site, and a perusal of internet postings casts doubt on her parentage. Is there a definitive answer concerning Margaret's parentage? Thanks, and citations to documents and sources would be appreciated.

John Dodd
JohnLDodd@earthlink.net

James Beeson and/or Agnes Beeson Will

I can't seem to find a will for either of these two. James and Agnes were cousins that married and disowned. James died from what I can gather, in 1837 in Pennsylvania but it could be West Virginia. Agnes in 1867 in Pennsylvania or possibly West Virginia. Agnes isn't showing up on the 1850 or 1860 census records. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to find the will or prove a relationship to a parent without a will? The cert of death for the child in question makes no mention of his parents either. I hope someone can help.

Just read this as I was researching. Floyd passed in 2007 and was my father's brother. Washington County Beesons I know of are Floyd and his first wife, Juanita and second wife, Maurine. Floyd's parents were Edward Melvin Beeson and Jessie E. Beeson (Faulkner). I think Jessie's parents are also buried in the Ramona cemetery and I believe they are A.R. Faulker and wife (check Findagrave.com). There is also a Melvin L. Beeson in a Bartlesville cemetery (same area) and I am wondering if this was the father of Melvin. My father never knew anything of his grandparents. Melvin appears to be from Bourbon Co. KS but haven't confirmed. Hope this helps, let me know. Good luck.

I can find no real evidence of a John Beeson born in 1554, father of Edward and son of Hugh Beeston existed.

I see lots of people are placing him in their trees in order to link to the Beeston line, but I have yet to see any record of him, birth record, marriage record, I suspect the link was just made up by some genealogist in order to create a link.

let me know if you have any actual record regarding him, that would really be wonderful.
If all is authentic here, this is quite a FIND! My kudos to you or your sources!

I have only started to look into this. But from the following online book/link, I can at least verify the Samuel Jennings, Sarah Jennings, Edward Pennington information. ALSO NOTE THE TIE TO WILLIAM PENN !

http://books.google.com/books?pg=PA120&lpg=PA120&dq=...

This reads to me that Edward Pennington, Sarah Jennings husband was half-brother to William Penn's first wife!

Quite a find indeed .. again more investigating is needed (by me at least) .. but thank you for sharing this.

Kirk Beaty
Henry Beeson, b.1859, wife Martha, 1867, sons Everett, 1888, and John, 1891, lived Delaware Co., IN

I have an original cabinet card photograph of “Aunt Martha Beeson, Uncle Henry, and John and Everett”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Based on the census records, photo was surely taken in Delaware Co., IN. Father looks about age 40, mother about 30 and the boys look to be about 12 and 10.

I found the family Henry A. Beeson in the Muncie (Delaware Co.) IN census for 1900, showing Harry A. Beeson, age 41, born May 1859; wife Martha M. Beeson, 32, born Jul 1867; Everett O., 10, born Sep 1889; and John W., 8, born Jul 1891. Ancestry PublicMemberTree shows that Martha’s maiden name was Mattox.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to this Beeson family.
