Hi! My last name is Bellamy and I am from Conway, SC (Horry County). Much of my family (the "younger" generation or descendants)still live in this area. My grandfather's ancestory, however, is the only link to the Bellamy family. I would love to know more. My cousin and I were looking to put together a Bellamy family tree. I would love to see if we could piece together some family ties.

so sorry not to get back to you, but i had to find the book that is the proof that my bellamy people are connected to sam bellamy.my bellamy's were in and plenty still are connecticut, mass, vermont area for many years then a few of them went into canada and settled there, there were many writers, preachers, and lawyers among them..at any rate one of the writers after he died had a book written about him and for some reason the author put the beginning of our genealogy in this country in the book. He(Edward) also had confirmed verbally from an interview in his life time that he was in fact related to sam bellamy and that as a boy he thoroughly enjoyed that because there were so many preachers around. the writer was Edward Bellamy and he lived in new england and the author of his biography was Arthur Morgan, the book was published in 1944 and is still in print. it also has many pictures of his family, the title of the book is Edward Bellamy. He is all over the internet and lots of pictures too..that is my family line, the one edward is from. However there are soooooo many edward bellamy's and it took awhile for me to confirm mine and i had 3 of them, i did not know this however, and i did name one of my sons the same.catch you later.marilyn

From "More Notices from Methodist Papers, 1830-1857," by Rev.Donald A. McKenzie, Huntington House, Lambertville, N.J., 1986.
"Wallace, Mrs. Susan, daughter of Chauncey H. and Nancy Bellamy of Yonge Twp., was drowned Oct 24, 1854, in an unsuccessful attempt to rescue her daughter, Catherine E., age 9. Mrs. Wallace was 29, and is survived by her husband and three children. Nov 22, 1854.O., sent from Westmeath."

Hi,
I am doing a friend's family tree. Her 2nd greatgrandmother was a Tabitha Ann Bellamy.
She was Cherokee. Or a Virginia Indian.
Also a story says that the Bellamys were white people who took her from her Cherokee Indian family.
She was born 3 AUG 1861 Scott County VA and died 4 NOV 1935 in McClure, Alexander, IL.
She married a Grovs.
On her death certf. it names her father as Hiram Belma (could they have ment Bellamy?)

Where does Capt. John Bellamy, Aires, Scotland fit into all this? He built the first state funded road in Florida. I was born in Jacksonville 1944, father Dewey sr. born 1913 his father is William Henry Bellamy.

Bellamy - my father, Jathon was from Horry County, South Carolina, lived in Virginia until his death in 2005 - told us many stories of our family - would love to speak with you - I now lie in Florida.

Joanna Bonner was the widow of Robert Hicks Bonner who died in Hancock in 1806. She was born c1766, dau of Thomas Bonner
and Mary Heath, so she was a cousin of her 1st husband Robert
Hicks Bonner. She had at least six children by Robert but I know of no children born to her 2nd marriage to Alexander Bellamy.

In 1861 Robert was aged 5mths born Yaxley, and in 1871 he was 10 born (not baptised) Farcet, both censuses living in the household of his grandfather John. Where have you found him giving an implied birth year of 1831?

In 1871 also in John's household was Jane Bellamy age 24, plus other grandchildren of John: Sophia 12, Isabella 7; George 6; Samuel 1; Eliza 1. There's also another daughter of John, Elizabeth born c 1838. Jane looks a bit young to have been the mother of Sophia and Robert. Could they have been the children of her sister Elizabeth?

Robert married Emily Fountain in Yaxley in 1883.Robert Bellamy

I am Ron Bellamy; my GGGGgrandfather was Richard Bellamy of Virginia; b abt 1745 died in Franklin Co. Georgia in 1815; do you see any relevant connections to the Bible you have?

Robert Bellamy and Hannah Jaques were my Gr.Gr.Grandparents.
Their son Charles Wesley was my Gr.Grandfather. Charles daughter Hannah Elizabeth was my grandmother. What a treasure you have in the Bellamy family bible. Jemima Bellamy Parliament was Charles Wesley's sister. Robert and Hannah are buried in the Flesherton cemetery.

What I wouldn't give to be able to see this bible. But I would be most thankful if you could possibly scan a picture or two and e-mail them to me. j.martin@bmts.com

The first wife of James Nelson Bellomy was Mary E. _____. I don't know her maiden name, but I too understand that she was part Indian. We are trying to find out what tribe. It appears that she probably died at an early age since he remarried after only two children, Sarah and William. Do you have any stories or clues as to Mary E., James first wife?

My GGG Grandfather is James Pritchard Bellamy's brother John. Do you know when/where JPB was christened as I only realised his existence through his father James Bellamy's will? I have copies of wills which mention a Gordon Noel Bellamy - is this the John Noel you mention? I have done quite a lot of research back from JPB parents James and Ann of Flanesford Priory and taken the line to William and Elizabeth of Hartpury early 1700s - I would be interested to know more about the family and its coat of arms.

I realise this appeal was made back in 2002 but I thought you would be interested to know that James William Bellamy (1883-1960)and Gertrude Lyon (1890-1968) were my Grandparents on my fathers side. They did indeed live in Stagglethorpe, Lincolnshire for a short time and 2 of their 12 children were born there. Please get in touch if you require further information. I would be very interested to find out if we are related in some way.

Probably already got your answer but one of Alexander's wives was Johanna Bonner and and Alex's parents were William Bellamy and Ester Baker as you surmised. I didn't know the whole background interesting.

I'm looking for a family of Bellamy in Vancouver that is related through our Brant family.
Beatrice Mary Brant married Arthur Benjamin Bellamy on February 1, 1922 in York. He was born c. 1889 in England and Beatrice was born Jan 3, 1894 in Toronto, and died Sept 1978 in Vancouver, B.C. Arthur's parents were Maurice Bellamy and Jane Marsh. Beatrice's parents were William Arthur Brant and Charlotte Sabina Clark.
Anything you can do to get me in touch would be great.

Not inheritance but family photo/s !
I am looking for any relative of Gertrude[Trudie] M Bellamy,born 1913 Staines area who married 1930 to David Tyler.1912 - 1984 They had no children.
Her siblings were Thomas 1907,Alice Beatrice 1910
and Gray[f] [or Gay] 1922.all London area
Their parents were Thomas Bellamy 1881 and Mary nee Mary Alice Franham Ross 1882.
In the 1911 census the family were living at
Kempton Villa,Staines Rd.Sunbury also living there
was S in Law, Mable Jane Ross age 32 U/M who was
a professional Stage Artist.
The photos would seem to be 1930 to 1950 from
David's collection
One I think is of Ann Green b.1947 the daughter of
Gray Bellamy and Donald F Green.
Any help / info in finding a home for this collection

My grandmother was Evelina de castro Bellamy and her family tree extends back to about 1550. Captain J Bellamy RN had a son Richard Bellamy also a captain in the RN who fought against the Spanish armada and married Rose the daughter of Admiral Sir George Somers, MP for Lyme Regis. I plan to get around to transcribing this document some day soon. Tom Chadwick
