Hello! I read your message, Jean, in regard to the book on the Belleville families, and I hoped that perhaps you might be able to help me with one of the "mysteries" I'm puzzling out in my family tree. I have info on an ancestor whose name I first encountered as Marguerite BERTHE, then later as BARTHE, then finally as Barthe-Marguerite Belleville. I ran accross something that listed her father as (Can't find first name just now) Bardebelleville, or Barde-Belleville. (It sounds to me like it should mean "the bard of Belleville"). Can you help me out at all with Marguerite's ancestry? I do not have any dates on her, but her husband's name was reportedly Joseph Berard dit Lepine, and her child Julie Berard-Lepine married Jean-Baptiste Boucher dit Barbel in Berthier-en-Haut, Quebec on Feb 10, 1823. I know it's an imposition to ask - I hope you will forgive me. I appreciate any help you can offer.
