Am trying to find any info on two daughters of Jacob Noose Belville and Mary Compton (Matheny) Belville. Myrtle Julia Belville married Louis Marion Hamilton and died in 1902. They had a daughter, Ethel. Where is Myrtle buried? Can't find her in Prairie City, IL cemetery where she should be. Also Louella Alphea Eliza married W. Fred Akers and she died in 1906. Where? They seem to disappear after they marry. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

My grandmother was Bernice Bellville from Saginaw, Michigan, who had a daughter Harriet Etta Ingram. Bernice's parents were Arthur Bellville and Lavina Railling. They lived in Toledo, Ohio. We are probably connected...the Bellville Family seemed to lived in Michigan and Ohio State. You can see my family tree on My Heritage.com and Ancestry.com. I would be more than happy to share information.

My grandmother was Bernice Bellville, born in 1902 in Saginaw, Michigan to Arthur (1877) and Lavina Bellville (1882) who lived and died in Toledo, Ohio. Both parents died within three months of each other in 1916. My mother who was named Harriet Etta Ingram, which we never really knew where the name Harriet originated. Even though my mother's birth certificate says Harriet Etta Ingram, my grandmother always told her that her name was Harriet Marcella Ingram. Do you think our families are connected?

Plattsmouth Journal, Monday, August 12, 1918
AN INTERESTING LETTER FROM BATTLE FRONT
Lloyd Belville Writes of Fight and Impressions of Enemy. – He Thinks the Germans Cowards.

[Conclusion to the above article]
A card written a week later adds:
Doing fine and able to write a little as you can see. Two weeks ago today I was hurt and I am almost well. Have gained three pounds in four days so you can see I am doing well. Weather is elegant here at Atlantic port. Lovingly, LLOYD
The clipping referred to is as follows:
Chicago, May 6th – Lieutenant Dinsmore ELY of Winnetka, a north shore superb [sic] was killed in France while on air service on April 2. – A few days before his death he wrote a letter to his father, Dr. Jas. ELY, which was received yesterday. The letter closes thus: “And I want to say in closing, if anything happens to me let us have no mourning in spirit or in dress. Like a Liberty bond, it is an investment not a loss when a man dies for his country. It is an honor to his family, and is that a time for weeping? I would rather leave my family rich in memories of my life than numbered in sorrow at my death.”
Dr. Ely sent the letter to Mrs. Ely at their summer cottage at Donaldson, Wisconsin. There the family held a funeral service for the soldier. Last Sunday they placed his effects in his canoe and covering all with the national colors, they sank it in a quiet nook of the lake which was a favorite retreat of the young man.
The above letter is taken from the Tracy, Minnesota, Headlight, sent to us by Mrs. BELVILLE, who was a former resident of Plattsmouth, and well known by many of our people, and the daughter of Mr. Chas. SHERMAN. The letter will be read with double interest by our people, especially those being better acquainted with the Sherman family.
Hello Dave,

My name is Tracy and I'm conncected to the Bellville's in Cincinnati, OH. My 3rd Great Grandfather, James R. Bellville moved his family to Cinci. for about ten years then went back to Delaware in abt. 1849. When he died abt.1856, his wife Amanda (Duffiield) Bellville came back to Cinci. with her children and that is where they remained.

"Two relatives of James, William W. Belville and Samuel Shaw Belville had remained in Cincinnati when James went east. Amanda seems to have returned because of them." (Note: Samuel and William were James' 2nd cousins)

SOURCE: Excerpt taken from the book, "Jean Belleville the Huguenot and his Descendants,1973 by Paul Belville Taylor, Ph. D.
Owned by Tracy (Bellville) Hugentober

There is quite a bit of information written in this book, mentioned above, about your family.

Thanks for posting the information. My great grandfather -- Jefferson Bellville had a brother Henry that went west never to be heard from again. Maybe this posting explains why. Jefferson and Henry's father was William Bellville born in York Twp. In Belmont Co. Ohio. In the 1880 census they lived in West Virginia but soon left there to return to OHIO. As a side note. Jefferson and Henry had an uncle Jacob Bellville, Jr. that married Caroline Doty. If this is the correct Henry then there may have been a slight family connection to Joseph Doty.
