Hi I am looking for ancesters of my grandmother, ida belvedere who died about 1938 in NY i beleive. We know little about her or where she was from but she met my grandfather in sicily and I beleive she may have been in calabria. the problem is that in NY no one who was italian understood her, so we are at a loss as to her origins. She married Mario Patronelli, petronelli, or patane. Again the birth certificates are different between my mother and her sister. We also think she cooked strange foods that were not italian so we are a bit confused. Any info?
