Don't know if this is any help or pertains to you. I came upon an old bible at a farm equipment auction in North Texas from the 1800's. The bible was published in London and Glasgow. The only personal info in it is childrens names with birthdates:

Janet Bennet
William Bennet
Robert Bennet
Elizabeth Bennet
Jane Bennet

The birthdates are from 1875 thru 1885. I would like to get this back to it's family members. I have no connection to Bennet. Thought that since you're looking for Bennet in OK, this may have some connection?

Looking for information on William Kemp and B. Lizzie Bondman the parents of Laura Kemp. They are listed on the 1910 Census as living in Tazewell county with their three-year old Laura. In 1920 they seemed to have disappeared and she was living with an Aunt and Uncle named Johnathan Bennet and Mary Bennet along with a cousin, Henry Berchtold. Laura Kemp (Cozadd) died at age 25 and is buried in Tremont's Antioch cemetery with Aunt, Uncle and Cousin but cannot find what happened to Laura's parents. I suspect Laura was the birth mother of my husband's grand-mother and gave her up for adoption.

Searching for information on the family of Robert Bennet who married Agnes Patie on 31 Dec 1840 in Dundee. Robert and Agnes were living in Paisley, Scotland in 1881. Robert and Agnes had a daughter Agnes Bennet who married John Hastings in Paisley in 1866. When and where did Robert die? Who were his parents? Any information gratefully received.

Regrettably not. I am aware of your Bennets in Rutherglen having come across them in my own research. As I recall they only lived in Rutherglen for a relatively short time. My Bennets were in Rutherglen for at least 150 years!!

I spotted your note on Rutherglen Bennetts. Born in Southwark South London in 1855, my Gt Grandfather William Taylor Bennett married Anne Jane Hook in Bethnal Green, London in 1875 when he was aged 20. He and Annie were then living at 42 Wellington St. In the 1881 census the family is living at 34 Washington Street, Brighton, Sussex. At the time of his mother's death in November 1884, he is living at 3 Blackman Street, Brighton. In the 1891 census they are then living at 50 Harriet Street, Rutherglen. William is consistently shown as a Gold Beater. In 1901 the family is living at 40 Wolseley Street, Rutherglen, Glasgow with Annie Jane Bennett as head. Does any of this tie in with your Rutherglen Bennetts? Best wishes, David

Abraham served as Corporal of Capt Wm Butlers Company of LT St Clair and Col,Woods Pennsylvania Battalion Enlisted Jan 5 1776 served at Ticonderoga see Saffels Records of The Revolutionary War pg 189.Samantha's info checks out in the history of Fort Ticonderoga, Authur St Clair was there but forced to evacuate July 6 1777,and he was not appointed Major General til Feb 17 1777 so when Abraham enlisted in Jan 5 1776 St Clair was still Lt St Clair.I am the 3rd great granddaughter of Jane Ann Bennet Neville,I have traced my BENNET -Neville line back to when Jane Ann and John were living in Beaver Co Pennsylvanina Brighton Township John was given land from his father Edward Neville have this in Will of Edward, Jane Bennet and John Neville lived there til they sold there home to Jesse McGaffick Apr 19 1856 ,I have this deed listing Jane John's wife,They then moved to Mason Co Va now West Virginia,Any help would be greatly appreciated,Thank you,Lois

I know this is a really old post, so I hope you get it. I'm not sure if this is your Bennet or not, but I found this in the November 3, 1882 issue of the Rockland (Maine) Gazette:

"In our item last week about the Stephen Bennett, we stated that we thought the vessel was commanded by Capt. Douglass of Bucksport. We have since learned the vessel on that voyage was commanded by Capt. Bennet, the owner, who with his wife was lost. The mate, Ezra Griffin, who was also drowned, belonged to Stockton and left a wife and five children."

I have a James Edgar Bennet, b. Apr. 10, 1875, d. Jan. 11, 1960, who was a Dr. of Law, at 38 Park Row, New York, in my family tree. There were several generations of James in his family. James Edgar was the cousin of my mother's grandfather, George Bennet.

I do have some more information if this is the correct person.

Michael F. Bennet, New U.S. Senator from Colorado

Does any reader know the Bennet ancestry of the newly appointed U.S senator from Colorado, Michael F. Bennet? (He is replacing Ken Salazar.) Michael F. Bennet was formerly the very successful superintendent of the Denver Colorado schools.

The only "early background" information (but no ancestral information) that I can readily find is that Bennet earned his bachelor's degree in history with honors from Wesleyan University (Connecticut) and his law degree from Yale Law School, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of The Yale Law Journal.

I'm very curious to find out if this Michael F. Bennet has any family connection whatsoever to Hiram Pitt Bennet, Colorado's first territorial representative to the U.S. House, and the person who was instrumental in establishing the U.S. Mint at Denver.

Hi-
My grandfather was born there but moved to California in the 50's when he married my grandmother. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same William Bennett but my grandmother has pictures of him and his family called him 'Bill' or 'Billy'. My grandfather was in the Korean War. I believe at some time he went or was stationed down in Arkansas and that's where he met my grandmother. Middle name is Curtis.

My great grandmother is Mary Alice Bennet. She is also from Massachusetts. She lived in St. Louis, Missouri when she died. She was born in 1872. Her parents are unknown, but an 1920 St. Louis census says that her mother was from Massachusetts and her father was from Tennessee. Mary was married to a William McIntyre that was born in New York, New York. His family migrated to Wisconsin and Illinois. I know my details are obscure. Maybe you have info about her relatives. I'm interested in who her parents are. Any help you could offer up would be greatly appreciated.

I was just looking for some Bennet info. : ) My great grandmother Helen Kelley Bennet came from Scotland about 1906 as a nanny. I don't know what city though. She married Edward Willett & they had 2 daughters, the younger one being my paternal grandmother Helen Ethel or Ethel Helen. She, at one time told me that her mother was from a place in Scotland that was right next to Ireland, but I don't know much about taht area of the world. This is one part of the family I am not having so much luck on tracing so I would love more info.

Hi Tommy. Willim Bennet(t) and his wife Mary Jane Harmon Smith are my GGGgrandparents. There daughter, Martha Jane Bennet(t)was my gggrandmother. I am not aware of a daughter in the William Bennett family by the name of Mollie Lucretia. Are you sure she is a child of this couple? I know there very week could be children that I am not aware of. I am very interested in learning more about this family.
According to my records which are a collection of my own findings as well as others findings, I have the couple with 13 possible children.

James W or Monroe Bennett b.about 1855, who married a Mattie and had children William or Willie and Mary
Martha Jane Bennett b. March 19, 1856 who married Charlie Williams and had numerous children
Rhoda or RC Bennet b. about 1859
James Franklin Bennett b. abt 1860 who married Margaret Victoria Galloway
Lena Bennett b. abt 1861
Sarah F Bennett b. abt 1867
Morgan R? Bennett b. abt 1876 who married Ida L? I have nothing in there children
Eldridge W Bennet b. abt 1877
William Henry Bennett b. abt 1878
Mary A Bennett b. abt 1879
T Bennet b. about 1883 who married a Reeves and had 2 daughters Lila A and Leathy
Nessie Bennett (No date of birth)
And then 2 other possible Bennett children for whome I have no names. At the moment I cannot even recall why I decided there were 2 other children besides the ones named here. I must have ran across evidence of that somewhere. I will have to try to figure that out again.

I have just bought a photograph album (at an antique fair in Edinburgh) showing the cruise in the Far East of Anna G Bennet and her companions, Mr and Mrs Wardle. They stayed at the bungalows of Eileen Dyke or Walls in Kedah and Doris Muir in Rangoon. They were travelling around Christmas in 1934. Does anyone know who Anna was?

2- Mary Bennet born 3 April 1846 in Metcalfe, Middlesex, Ontario ( They property in Adelaide was used to form Metcalfe in 1846.) Baptised 29 June 1846
3-ARthur Bennet born 24 June 1818 Metcalfe. baptised 6 August 1848.
4- Eliza Eleanor Bennet born 12 Jan 1851 Metcalfe, baptised 9 February 1851. Also called Sophia after Aunt.

It seems Angelo Scuecco born in 1865 in Italy, in 1902 in the US changed his last name to Bennett or Bennet because he felt his name was too hard for others to pronounce or spell.
In the 1930 United States Federal Census I found John Bennet Scuecco living in Delaware PA.
