I'm a little rusty on history and from the US, but was the "great war" you're referrring to WWI or WWII??
I've been doing research on my genalogy and the town of Cotton End caught my eye. I am releated to a John
Berrington who married an Ann
Parrish ( daughter of James &
Abigail Parrish) from Cotton End on December 24, 1822. Ann (
Parrish)
Berrington was born on May 11, 1806 in Cotton End, and she lived her entire life (103 years) in Cardington, near
Bedford, Bedfordshire. She had 10 children, one of which was my great, great, great grandfather, Joseph
Parrish Berrington. He was born May 11, 1828, immigrated to the US (
Cleveland,
Ohio) in Dec. 1851 and died on Jan. 16, 1916 in Clevland,
Ohio.
I am interested in locating any descendants of John and Ann (
Parrish)
Berrington and finding out more about the Cardington, Bedfordshire area to plan a future visit to
England.
In addition, I also have genealogy info going back to early 1700's (4 generations) on John
Berrington
