(John) Marshal Bertram (or Buttram/Burtram) born 15 Sep 1848 in Greenup, KY is the son of John Wesley Burtram & Sarah (Sallie) Crabtree. He married Clarinda (Clara) MCINNIS, and they had 4 children I know of, the youngest being Herbert Morton you mention. Clara died, and Marshal married again to Sarah Cole.
I have a bit more information in my tree... Marshal is my 2nd great uncle.
janewilson94

I am trying to find "any" information out there on Mary Jane Bertram. She was born in 1894 in Gatehouse Scotland, and died in 1983 in either Moss Vale or Bowral, New South Wales, Australia. She never married. Her siblings were Robert, James, Henry and Frances Jane. Unfortunately I do not know when she immigrated to Australia. Her brother Henry was the only one of the siblings to marry.

Any information would be appreciated

If you will send me your phone number, I will pass it on to my grandma Dorothy Davis. She knows a bit about her husband's Hester and Foster relatives. Actually, because of Hester and Foster relatives in California, my great-grandparents George Thelbert and Bertie Abigail Foster Davis moved to Bakersfield with their younger son Johnny for several years before coming back to Texas in the 1970s. My mom barely remembers Aunt Edna. I have a picture of Grandma and Grandpa Hester and family around 1907. Edna was little at the time.

There were many Bertram descendants that lived in
Erie county PA and Crawford county, the county just
south of Erie county. Most of these people emigrated
from villages in the Kingdom of Hannover, Kries Northeim
from 1835 to the 1900s. However a community of Bertram
does not appear in any records.

community of Bertram in Pennsylvania?

I have a reference that Shubael Downes migrated from Calais ME to "Bertram" PA about the year 1817. I couldn't find any community of today, or a historical one, named Bertram in the state of Pennsylvania. Does any member of this Bertram family message board know of a community that was known as Bertram in PA. I have a clue that it might be in the county of Erie, PA since later descendants of the Downes' were in Erie, Erie Co, PA. Thanks for your help.

Hey, I am not sure of a definite connection here. The only reason I say this is because the Andrew Bertram/Bartram I have was born around 1878 and then again in 1910. If something comes up, I will keep an eye out though. Sorry for the long wait.

Andrew Bertram has been my brick wall for years . He was the father of William Bertram (12 June 1839) and Emily Bertram Kell (13 Sept 1845 in Pelton Fell) Emily Bertram married Thornton Kell in the Parish Chruch in the Parish of St. Nicholas, Durham Durham County. Their mother was listed as Margaret Parsons one place and Margaret Minican another. Is there any connection to your Andrew Bertram? Thanks
Romayne

We are Nola and Jean Harvey of Rockhampton Queensland Australia. We are great-granddaughters of Andrew Son of Andrew snr and his second wife Christine Paterson. Andrew and his brother John came to Australia via Sydney in 1857 and then on to Rockhampton in 1858. He married a Janet Gardiner Brown in 1862 then had a family of 5 sons and 6 daughters. Nola has tried to trace John but has had no success as yet. Our email address is jnharvey5447@yahoo.com.au. Nola and I have records which were kept by Lucy Bertram one of Andrews daughter.

Hi there. Brenda Bertram Forrester is my ex-sister in law. I am trying to contact someone who will know where she is at now. She remarried after she and my brother divorced and her married name is Lowrance(spelled with an "o" this is not a typo) and I want to say she was living in Nebraska or Missouri, somewhere in that area of the States anyway. I knew Norma and Owen as they lived here and in Madison, Ga. while Brenda and my brother were married. Norma is buried in Madison, Ga. and Owen died in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Not sure if he is buried in Madison also but it seems as though his ashes were sent back here to be buried.

My dad's not sure, but he thinks it was Hiltner. He only knew her as "Grandma Bertram". She died when he was about 10 years old, so 1940 or close to that. Wrong info earlier on graduation year for my grandfather. He would have graduated around 1912 from West Point. He served in the Mexican War & WW1. He had a heart attackj in 1940/41 and lingered 6 months before he died. At the time he was the Commandant of Vancouver Barracks in Washington state.

Rob Bertram

New info: My GF, Edward Hiltner Bertram, was born 1890 in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from West Point around 1918. Elizabeth was his mother, my dad's grandmother. Charles was my great uncle and owned/operated a hotel in southern CA. Alice is my great Aunt, Charles' and Edward's sister. My GF's family moved to Minnesota sometime in the 1890's or early 1900's because of my GGF's work. Richard Bertram, founder of Bertram Yacht, is my GF's 2nd or 3rd cousin. All this is per my dad Robert Reinhardt Bertram Sr., born Colon, Panama 12/19/1930. He was born on Army base in Panama where my GF was stationed at the time. I am RR Bertram, Jr, born 1/9/1961 in Charlotte, NC.

My Uncle's line is from Charles, Alice's brother. Don't know other siblings, but know there were a few. Father was Charles also and I want to say his mother was Elizabeth Hiltner. maybe a connection because of the name. Let me know.
Mornington Bertram

I'm trying to find some more information on Mornington Arthur Bertram; all I have is that he died in Bethnal Green in 1963, age 88. He may have been born in Norfolk, but this is not certain.
Any information on his birth and parents would be gratefully received.
