JOSIAH ALLEN BETTS was not born in Sydney in 1807.
he was the son of Matthew BETTS and Sarah Allen, and was born in Sept 1814, Christened 21st October 1814 in the Church of England Parish Church of Potton, Bedfordshire, England. He arrived via the "Planter" in Sydney on 20th March 1834, he came FREE and was a Merchant. Josiah died 7th August 1863 at Parramatta. He married Martha Marsden on the 19th February 1839 in St John's C/E Church Parramatta, Martha was born 6th May 1811 in Parramatta and was the youngest daughter of the Rev SAMUEL Marsden (1765-1838)and ELIZABETH FRISTIAN (1772-1835)who married in Hull, Yorkshire England on 21st April 1794.
Martha (Marsden) BETTS died 26th Sep. 1895 at Gladesville.
Josiaha and Martha are buried in the St John's Church Cemetery, in O'Connell Street, Parramatta (Section 1, Row V, Plot 1) with his brother JOHN BETTS and his wife MARY nee Marsden (an older sister of Martha's) They had 7 children, names, births, marriages and death details I have.
