Benjamin Betts, Sr. could not possibly have been the son of Thomas Betts I who died 12/24/1688 in Norwalk, Ct.
Benjamin was born in 1739 - I think in Norwalk, CT. You. are correct that he emigrated to Canada and settled in Wallace, NS. I too am descended from this Benjamin but have been unable to find out who his parents were. One book I have gives Thomas II as his father but he too died before Benjamin was born.
I will be glad to share any information I have and would love to have anything new you have learned about Benjamin's parents.
