The Emma Bueler most trees list as Albert's 2nd wife is incorrect. Emma Hannah Bueler married Henry David Lewis and died 1919 while married to him. If you look at the Michigan Birth & Christening index 1867-1911 for Casslyn Agustie Beutel, you see where her mother was listed as Kathryn Mc Lellan. Using Kathryn McLellan, I come up empty. Using Catherine McLellan or Catherine Mc Clelland, I also come up empty. Since my grandfather was Albert's son Charles Ramo Beutel, I am ending the search re: his 2nd wife. That leaves Kathryn or Catherine McLellan or Mc Clelland. So I will keep you abreast of any more info. I did find a Polk City Directory for 1931 done in 1930 that shows Albert Beutel (wife Emma) confirming her as his wife in 1930 and that they were both alive then.

Their parents were John Charles Beutel and Elspeth Miller. They originally came from the Cleveland / Redlands area and to my knowledge after leaving here resided in Darwin or Alice Springs. I look forward to further contact from you.

This is a death certificate I've been trying to decipher for a while now. I can't read the father's last name or the mother's maiden name, but the father's last name looks like it could be a slightly-misspelled version of "Beutel". Does anyone else agree, and if so, could anyone help me with locating info on this family? Thank you.

http://seekingmichigan.cdmhost.com/seeking_michigan/discover...

Albert's second wife was Emma Bull (Buell) Bigler. We are searching for confirmation, wedding, etc. William was my wife's Grandfather. Any information would be appreciated.

My wife's Great-Grandfather was Albert C. Beutel, Robert's brother. Albert's son was William, who in turn, had 3 children, all girls, Mabel (my wife's mother), Tabitha and Casslen. Albert died in 1947 after his son William, who died in 1940. My wife, Betty Lou, knew Albert and his wife and has memories of him. We know very little about his life and the seemingly separation from his siblings. Any information would be appreciated.

I am Naomi Beutel (37yo), now living on Sunshine coast, originated from Sydney and extended family that I have no contact with in South East Qld areas.

Here's what I am interested in knowing. Apparently Beutel means 'bag' in German - just lovely. That's someting to be proud of. Apparently Beutel originated from a country that previously existed between France and Germany. What was that country called????

Naomi

The best dates that I have from the census are Jacob born abt 1800 and Anna Maria born abt 1828. Matthew owned Kuebler's Vienna Steam Bakery in Louisville, KY.

Re: Johann Jakob Beutel -- Beutels from Schornbach to Backnang

Would like to discuss the Beutels from this region with you (or any other researcher). My Beutel line goes back to Schornbach and Maximilian (1627-1720) and his father, Michael. I'm trying to sort the Schornbach lines soon. Am about to order the LDS films. Although the older priest scripts (before the typical Family Registers of the early-1800s) are usually very challenging to say the least.

Interesting that there are many Beutels just north / NW in Backnang also. That's only 10-12 miles away from Schornbach. Why is the Schornbach-Schorndorf area called Steinbach? Can't find references to this name in that area online.

Would also like to see if the Aussie Beutels can be tied to the Stuttgart region group. But the Beutels who went to Australia in the 1800s all seem to have come out of the Prenzlau region, way up to the NE in Germany.

Beutel probably came from Ira Township, married Dorothy Stier from Macomb Township, Macomb, Michigan. They moved to Detroit. After 1900's information is scarce on them especially death dates, but we have located children and some of the descendants. Looking for Hempels, Caviston, and Cochell descendants.

My great-great grandfather was Frederick W. Beutel (1868-1912). I have various evidence indicating he was a brother of your August (who was first married to Caroline Vollmer, I believe). I have dates of 1864-1936 for your August. There was also at least a third brother, William C. (1862-1921) who came to Cleveland, Ohio. The parents of these brothers were Philip Friedrich Beutel (1826-1904) & Anna Barbara Rehm (1826-1868)of Pfullingen, Germany (about 20 miles south of Stuttgart). I have our Beutel line back to at least 1627 in Germany.

My dad's cousin, Joanne, and I are currently in the middle of a big "genealogy binge," exchanging info about our Cleveland Beutels. You are the first genealogically-inclined descendant of August that I have seen on the Internet. I have a photo, supposedly of August and his family, I guess from about 1900. On the back someone has written "Grampa's Uncle August Beutel, wife Carrie with 6 children (in order of age) Katherine, William, Meta, Carrie, Carl, #6-?" I am pretty confident we have a connection here.

Please contact me directly at jbeutel@toxicstargeting.com
if you are so inclined. I know I am risking getting this email address "mined" by spammers, but it is worth it (besides, I have a second, less compromised email we could switch to later).

I have more photos and data that would probably be easier to exchange directly than through the message boards. I'm not a full, paid member of Ancestry anyway (yet). I also have a copy of your August's death certificate from 1936.

Hope to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Beutel

My 3rd ggrandmother was Luisa Johanna Beutel who was born 7/23/1826 in Oberesslinger, Wuertemburg, Germany and died 4/4/1886 in Louisville, Jefferson, KY and is buried in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. She married Gottlieb Friedrich Bauer. Her siblings were: Fredrike (Rica) Beutel b. 8/13/1831 in Germany & twin brother, Fredrich Beutel b. 8/13/1831 in Germany; George Franklin Beutel (American Name) born 1836; Gottlieb Friedrich Beutel b. 1/21/1835 in Germany; Albrecht Friedrich Beutel b. 11/22/1829; Joseph Beutel b. 9/25/1833; Carl Jacob Beutel b. 4/17/1836. The parents of these children were Albrecht Friedrich Beutel and wife, Elisabetha Katharina Nagel born in Oberesslingen, Wuertemburg, Germany and died there. Albrecht Friedrich Beutel was born 4/16/1803 to Joseph Beutel & Katherina Hildenbrant Beutel in Oberesslingen, Wuertemburg, Germany. Of the siblings I know that Luisa Beutel settled in Louisville, KY and married Gottlieb Bauer; Fredrike (Rica) Bauer married Jacob Weber and they live in Pana, Christian County, Illinois; Gottlieb Friedrich Beutel lived in Coles County, Illinois and was married to Sophronia Walker.

I am finally getting back to August Beutel and his wife after all these years. I know that Catherine Willhemina Beutel lost her mother, and her father married again. My mother thinks her mother was named Caroline. I have been looking through the census and Carl Beutel (Catherine's brother) lived in a household with August and Christine. I think this may be the key to it all--I cannot believe I am just now getting back to it.

I finally got some information from death certificates. My Mary Beutel (b 1869 Germany) was the daughter of William Beutel & Caroline Meinke. Caroline was born 1835 in Germany so I assume William was approx her age. I do not have a death cert on him however. The 1900 Ohio Census lists Mary (already married to Fred Woodrich) as immigrating in 1881. Her mother Caroline immigrated in 1882 and was a widow in 1900. It states she bore 4 children, all 4 living in 1900. Her death cert informant was Charles F Beutel (son), living at 1128 5th St., Lorain, OH. Do these names sound familiar to you?
