I am descendent of Jacob Beutler 1540-1589 in Rotfelden Germany. I am looking for his parents, wife and children. During my research I found a Hans Beutler born around 1510 in the same town. His father was Bartlin Wydmaier. (Could Bartlin W be the grandfather of Bartlin Beutler 1607-1630? Hans also had a son Peter Beutler.....could this be Jacob's brother? Does anyone have any info they can share or advice. Thank you....Tammy Bitler Cryder

Do you have a family tree of the Beutlers? Thanks for any help you can give. It really gave my stepfather hope that he might find his way back to his family.

Yes I have copies of the adoption papers with the Beutler's signatures. All I know about Carl is his middle initial was F. I don't know if that was for Frank or Freidrich. Clara's middle name was Mae and I don't know her maiden name. Thank you very much for doing this. I tried and got nowhere."

Thank you for your help!
Guten Tag, Lynda,

maybe there is a connection to my Beutler women who went to Chicago as I told you. I believe that more members of the family followed or were aldready there, but this is nothing but speculation at the moment.

Could you please let me know when your stepfather was born? Has he ever seen the adoption documents? No idea if the biological parents are also mentioned in a birth certificate in the US and no idea if there is some information on them in the adoption files in your country.
Is Clara's maiden name known to you?
Carl, by the way, was a pretty popular name in my family. Did Carl have more Christian names? In the past at least two or more of them were given to a child.
Regards,
Willi

Marion Michitsch was born in 1901 in Morobitz Parish, Gottschee, Austria, (now known as Borovec pri Kocevski Reki, Slovenia). She also had a bother Johann (John) Michitsch born 1898 in Morobitz Gottschee, Austria. He lived in Ridgewood, New York, at Mina Michitsch residence. Their parents were Johann Michitsch and Katharine Beitler from Lower Austria. Alexander Hovanyetz Sr. and Mary Michitsch had a one child together, Gertrude Hovanyetz, born in 1925 who was raised in New York,USA.
I am also looking for any information on the Surname names Michitsch, Beitler and Sherl that immigrated from Austro-Hungary from around Morobitz, Austria.

I have photos with what I believe are Family members from the U.S. and Overseas. Some of these photos have my Mother when she was just a baby, back around 1927. They were taken in the rural type area, probably located in New York, or possibly Pennsylvania or Ohio. If you know any please contact me.

The first Beutler I know of was Simeon Beutler, married to Maria Fahrenholz before 1720. Their son Daniel was born in Köritz in 1720. At that time our surname was Büdeler (Buedeler), Low German. At the end of the 18th century it was changed into Beutler, and it means "purse-maker".
It would be great to learn from you where your ancestors came from in Germany.
Herzliche Grüße (Gruesse) from Köln (Cologne) in Germany,
Willi

Plus, I have a sister named Heidi (guess that's not really surprizing, when you have Swiss ancestors) who is [obviously?] not you.

Your "Johannes b1831 died in Cache Valley, Utah" is my gg grandfather.

My g grandfather was John Jacob Beutler.
My grandfather was John Albert Beutler (Sr.).
Father was John Albert Beutler (Jr.)
Brother is John Albert Beutler (III) -- who happens to have named his son ...
I have an ancestor (father's side) named Peter Beutler, born 17 Feb 1737 in Trubschachen, Bern, Switzerland, who married Anna Zaugg, born 5 May 1738. Needless to say, the names and places in your post "rang a bell" - so I had to consult a geneological record that I have had in my possession for years - one that lists my Beutler ancestors way back to Jakob Beutler, born 'about' 1601 in 'Lanperswil' [sic], Bern, Switzerland. Although I find no mention of Rosina, I would find it hard to believe she's not somehow connected to my ancestors in some way ... then again, who knows?

Rosina Beutler (Lauperswil, Switzerland)

I am looking for ancestors of Rosina Beutler (Switzerland). She died on Jan 11, 1759. I have information that she was born in Lauperswil, died in Trubschachen, and got married in 1745 in Lauperswil to Chrisian Zaugg. This might not be all correct (see http://ancestors.kuglstatter.com for more details). Any help would be highly appreciated.

Where is John (Johann) Beutler from in Prussia?
I have Beutler ancestors from Hohenofen, Kreis Ruppin (now Kreis Ostprignitz-Ruppin in Brandenburg, Prussia, and Köritz (Koeritz), a village just a stone's throw from Hohenofen. The villages belong to Neustadt (Dosse) now.
My Beutlers were Evangelical Lutheran.
In the Passenger Lists, 1850-1934, Staatsarchiv Hamburg, I found a
Maria Beutler, aged 25, single, of Hohenofen, Brandenburg, on the day of her departure on 1 Sep 1892 from Hamburg to New York on the Bohemia, Shipping Line: Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actien-Gesellschaft.

She could be my greatgrandfather's sister who was born on 17 Jun 1867 in Hohenofen.

It would be great if you let me know whether there is any connection.

Thanks a lot!

Greetings from Germany,

Willi Beutler
Low German obviuosly is "Plattdeutsch" spoken in Northern Germany, e.g. Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Mecklenburg, Brandeburg, Pomerania. My father's mother from Pomerania sometimes spoke it. My mother's mother hated that way of speaking since "Plattdeutsch" was the language of "stupid village people" in her opinion.
"Plattdeutsch" is very close to English or Dutch, e.g. water, (what) wat, (that) dat etc.
Regards from Germany,
Willi
with Beutler ancestors from the Brandenburg area

Mary:

Your Frederick County Beitler's you mention would not have also been "BITLER" by chance would they, as I have documented name changes from BITLER to BEITLER in other locations in my research. I'm not sure if any of these ended up in Baltimore through.

I have a large branch of family tree recorded under the BITLER name mostly from the Walkersville/Frederick area of Frederick County. I am trying to see if they are connected with some folks in Adams County, PA also.

The oldest member of this family I have traced is John BITLER, born Abt 1805 (different records record PA or MD as birthplace), married Ann Elizabeth Perril b. Feb 1814, children: George, John, David, Charles, Alsinda, Simon, and Neta.

Descendants of this family are recorded on my Brick Walls page at http://www.bitler.org/walls/index.htm.

-Glenn

Fredericka was living with her parents, John and Caroline "Butler", in the 1860 US census in Genoa, Livingston, Michigan. She is not listed with her parents, John and Caroline "Benler" in the 1870 US census in Handy, Livingston, Michigan. She could, of course, have died. Very possibly she married. Her parents later settled in Sherman, Isabella, Michigan.
Would appreciate any help finding her through census, obit, city directories, etc.
Beutler's of Buffalo from Prussia

I recently found out that
John Beutler was born in 1841 in Niederreiderbacher Hof Prussia and
Immigrated circa 1853 to America. My researcher who reads old German thinks this is the name of the town from St. Mark's and St. Paul's church books where it has his marriage recorded. However the microfilm of the Weierbach church records are not readable. Someone from the Prussia List volunteered to look up the Beutler name in
1) Familienbuch der katholischen Pfarreien Kirchbollenbach,
Fischbach-Weierbach, Mittelreidenbach, Sien, Offenbach (Glan), by Rudi Jung
(3 volumes)

2) Familenbuch der katholischen Pfarrei St. Martin Weierbach/Nahe 1756-1835,
by Reiner Schmitt
at his library in Germany but did not find the name listed. I am now wondering if perhaps the town name may be an error.
Do you know where your Beutler family if from in Germany, when they came over, occupation etc. I have a small data base I have accumulated on Beutler's in New York State perhaps we can come up with something when we compare notes.
The churches that my family attened in Buffalo are
A) St. Paul's Evangelical Reformed Church Books
570 Ellicott Street Buffalo, New York
B) Blessed Sacrament Church
C) German United Evang. St. Marcus Clergy Church at 599 Oak Street, Buffalo, New York
D) St. Louis Cathedral
So far I have not found a connection to St. Stephen Church.
Please send me all your information on your Beutler family and I will see if I can find them.
Debbie
Washington D.C.

Hello, I am searching for more information on my great grandfather, Johann Christoph Hein, (John Hines of Isabella County Michigan). Born April 11, 1847, in Czarnikow(Czarnikou-German name), which is in the Posnan(Poznan) prefincture of now Polan, according to his military papers. He served in the Franco-Prussian War. He enlisted in the Prussian Army Dec 31, 1867. I have a bit more if you are interested. I know these are the same people. I am now living and teaching English in Poland. My grandfather was Robert, son of John and Theresa-known to the family as "Racie". Please write to my personal email address of "taskforcepoland@yahoo.com" I am in the process of trying to track down further records by a friend who is a historian and reads old German and latin. Hope to hear from you soon, Kathy,
