I seem to think this is Louisa Caroline Bible (according to my mother's Smith Family notes) who we believe married William Howard Smith about 1859 and lived in Districts 9/10 of Marion County Tennessee.

She died March 21, 1909 and is buried in the Old Rollins Cemetery (Martin 2), Martin Springs, Marion County, Tennessee.

Ancestery.com transcribed this as both Bible and Bibler.

Thank you for the information. I went through the Bible family page and for the life of me could not find a diary pertaining to him. I appreciate the lead at the NGM and will call there tomorrow. I am trying to establish lineage for his family who I believe originated in Virginia. Again, thanks for your help.

One of his ancestors posted his diary in the photos of the Bible webpage. I know that it mentioned him traveling by train from Chattanooga to Chuckey when the war was over. Also, at the local museum, Nathanael Greene Museum, there is a display of a certificate of his participation in the war signed by President Andrew Johnson.

You did some work on sources for this individual Harriet Lewis Passmore Bible in the Bible tree. I was wondering if you have any documentation to substantiate her parentage, birth dates etc. I am researching my family tree and Harriet and Daniel Bibles son, William H. is my 2nd great grandfather. Larry, I'm new to this but noticed what I believe to be my brother's post in 2002 re Saul. I had same question re Saul's children and have found some conflicting info and thought you might help. Also I've heard rumored there is an annual Bible reunion at Lake Park in Coshocton last Sunday of August; can you confirm. Thanks for any help you can provide.

James Bible, Kilfinane

Hello!

I'm trying to trace a James Bible, in the Kilfinane area of east Limerick, in the mid-eighteenth century. He was first cousin to a John Howard, whose home in Kinsale had burnt down, and who moved to Kilfinane at James Bible's invitation. The daughter of this John Howard married a Robert Joyce, and as she was born (to the best of my knowledge) about 1760, that probably puts John Howard's birth year at about 1735. Since his cousin is referred to as "old James Bible", that might well push his birth back into the 1720s at least. I know that there's a post here already regarding a Bible family in Kilfinane, and it even includes a James, but since he was born c. 1795, I need to go back two or even three generations earlier. Pushing my luck, I suspect, but worth asking the question nonetheless, I hope.

Heinrich Biebel

I am very frustrated I have hit a brick wall with my research on my G-G-G-Grandfather Heinrich (Henry) Biebel. Henry was a Captain in the Civil War,present at the Battle of Bull Run, and a prisoner of war at Libby Prison. He has an extensive history here in the US however I can still find nothing on his Birth, Parents or siblings. He was born October 10, 1827 in Weisenheim, Rheinesh, Bavaria. I also have mention on a document of Niefenheim, Rhine, Pfalz. He is buried in Bridgeport, Ct. USA next to a Frank Biebel the relationship is unknown. He married Barbara Kiefer on November 16, 1851 by a C. Jost Minister of the Gospel of the Methodist Episcopal Church, I believe in Ct, or possibly NY. I have been searching for several years for his parents names and siblings. There is no referrence in the LDS Family List, only Census records. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I can not afford to fly to Germany!

I dont recall a UB I do have a Uri though in my family (im not sure if I heard it wrong) I do believe Uri was my great gandfather ... My grandfather Lawrence had blue eyes had a few brothers and sisters..when I went to his funerals a lot of them were high complected and had blue eyes or light colored eyes.

Are you related to UB Bible. UB had a daughter (Lula)in 1921 with Nunzella Littles a black woman in Waco Tx.
I don't have much information except for the fact that UB's mother was white and they lived in Texas.

John Cooke Swearingen referenced his mothers bible (Asenath Parker Swearingen)in his Civil War pension papers (1913). A copy of the bible page "in which all records have been kept with date of births....1747 up to and including my own .."
"The above refers to my father and mother... father Joseph C Swearingen b Apr 30 1808 mother Asenath daughter of Ann & Hiram Parker b Aug 10th 1815."

While researching Wills in the National Archives, I came accross the will of John Bible Cork, probate was granted 1858. John had a wife Alice, son Arthur and daughter Margaret.

He left most of his estate to Johanne Donovan

1 shilling to his wife Alice

10 pounds to Johanna, who was Johanna?

I believe that your Aaron Bible is the son of Joseph & Susan (Susanna) Smith Bible found in the 1860 Cocke Co TN census & the 1870 Ste. Genevieve County MO census. Joseph & Susan had quite a few children with Aaron, Ezra and Elizabeth being the younger ones. I show Aaron Bible married Mary Bayless in St. Francois co MO on Dec. 13, 1877--record was filed on Jun 12, 1878 by A.A. Rudy, JP. Ezra Bible married Catherine E. Ferguson, daughter of Churchman Ferguson, in St. Francois co MO on Jan. 30, 1879.
Susan Smith Bible is a sister of my ggg grandfather Isaac Smith born in Greene co TN.
