Hi I am the Grand-daughter of Henry Ludwig Bies, He is the father of my mother Shirley Rose Bies Healy. I am Cyndi Healy. Do you know what my grandmother's maiden name was and where she was born? How about more information on my grandfather? I will be moving in with my mother to take care of her soon and would like to show her all the information I have collected from what she could remember. my grandmothers maiden name was vaclavek barbara,she had 2 sisters elsea,emma. my grandmother was from czechoslovakia. she came to ny in 1912. she passed away in 1977.

I am looking for Henry Bies from Hesse Cassel Germany, Born in 1840. He came to the U.S and settled in Minnesota in Scott county. He married a girl named Hanora Regan or Hanora Coleman. I don't know which name to follow. Her parents were from Ireland. She was born in Pennsylvania in 1850. They were married about 1873. I don't know where they were married.

Hi; One of my g-g-grandfathers was a Frank Bies, from near Bay City, MI. He had two brothers, August and I believe the other was Joseph. They came to the US in 1881 with their mother Anna who had remarried a Peter Heron. The family has all but disappeared around Bay City. This Bies family came from Grossherzogthum Jabula (Prussia) which is now Jablowka which is South of Gdansk on highway 222, near the intersection of hgy 229. Back in the early 1950s I do remember traveling to the Detroit area to visit Bies relatives and attending the wedding of Mitchell Bies.

I'm also looking the Idaho branch of the Bies family in Nez Perce County, specifically, Cottonwood Idaho. My grandmother was Mary (Anna) Bies, born in Oct. 1905. Her father,it is rumored, to have been born in Luxembourg and his first initial was J. Her mother was born in the Groningen province of Holland. Her name was Berdine, Bernadine, or Bernadette Huls. I'm not getting any where with the Idaho census records from the early 1900's.

Am interested in anyone researching the Bies Family from Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. My GG Grandmother was Mary Anne (Anna) Bies who came to America in 1867 with her family; father Peter, mother Anna and brother Mathias and sister Katherina. Mary later married August Bishop and they settled in Shawano County, Wisconsin.

Immigration: Heron, Bies, and Nadolski Families

These families settled in Bay County, MI. I was looking for August, Frank, and/or Joseph Bies immigration records. They are the sons of Anna (GURZYNSKI) Bies. I don't know the father's name. Anna Gurzynski Bies married a second time to Paul/Peter Heron and had more children. There are three known daughters from this second marriage Marianne Heron married Ignatz Janowicz prior to immigration [I found their records], Juilianne Heron married Frank Nadolski prior to immigration to the US. I had not been able to find the Heron family nor the Bies family but according to census records 1885 looked like the right time period. So I looked for Julia Heron Nadolski. I found the families together.

I would really appreciate if someone could re-read this entry to make sure that I read it correctly. It was messy.

Where is Milan, MI? I am not from Michigan but I am searching Bies from Bay County,MI. I found some immigration information but they were traveling with Heron family and are listed as Heron in the records. This family arrived in 1885.

Additional information to my original post.
Joseph Bies is my great-grandfather (born approx 1883) Immigrated from Poland in 1905 to Detroit, MI. Listed as a carpenter. Married Victoria (born approx 1883) who immigrated from Poland in 1907. Lived in Detroit Ward 20 during 1920 census. Had 5 children in 1907, Sophie 9, Anna 7, Joseph 6, Francis 4, and John 1-1/2. John was my grandfather, married Florence (Gregg) and had 6 sons. John Gregory (born in 1947), Dennis Allen (born 1948, died 2004), Gerald, James, Michael (born in 1952), and William (Died in 1966). They all lived in Milan, MI for a period of time.

Brett, you might be who I need to talk to about bies.
I have a Josef Bies who lived in Delray michigan
but really dont know if they stayed there.
Josef bies was born in 1885? have to look up the date
but my uncles were living with him and on the cencus
say he was their cousin.
or immigration is where i got it from ,anyway, I been
doing re-search on my uncles and that means that
one of my G-grandmothers sisters married a bies, or
g-grandfathers sisters married a bies.
I know the family lived here in Detroit for some time, but
I figured this might be a long shot due to the fact that
my one uncle Frank luranc, moved to Pinconning and
so thinking both probably moved there in the same time
frame cause I dont see any more records for bies in
detroit after a certain time frame. So my guess is that
your family could be related to Josef bies who might
be a great uncle, or possibly g-grandfather or grandfather?

I am looking for decendants of Jozef bies, who lived in delray and had 1st wife Katherine Krawczyk-bies, then married a Katherine Kaminski -Bies. they had one child, the previous had 4? have to check, anyway, someone showed me your message and I had to respond. Joe lived on Pulaski in Delray then moved to wesson. My uncle Frank Luranc was a cousin, and my grandmother ,and uncle John who all came to delray ,but frank was the first here to stay with Joe in the beginning. does any thing look familiar?? let me know and email me at Nightwhisper19@aol.com

Iam related to both the Bies family and indirectly to the Kunkel family. The Kunkel family would have come from around the Chicago area and the Bies family was from Wisconsin.

My family is from Michigan, My grandfather Lenord Bies (1914-1998) and his Wife Martha Bies(1920?-1954), had three children: Fred, Doug(my father) and Charles Bies. Fred married to Mary :has two children Shane and LeeAnn Bies. Doug married to Joyce has two children Kristy and Sandra (Me). Charles is not married and does not have any children.

Gustave's wife, Dorothea Wilhelmina BIES (Biess, Biesh), is the daughter of, Moritz Andreas Bies (BIESS, Biesh) and Klara (Clara) Marie (Maria) KLEIMENHAGEN - Note in the obit below, that Wilhelmina's first and last name are spelled wrong!

At his home in the town of Germantown, Sept. 26, 1907, Gustave David EBERLEIN died. Mr. EBERLEIN was born at Herrenbreitungen, Germany, Sept. 27, 1839. He was united in marriage, in 1864, to Wilhimena Bires. To them 7 children were born. The oldest son, Edward, died at the age of 21 years and 4 years ago the wife and mother passed away. The survivng children are Mesdames W. C. RUNKEL of Germantown; August PFAFF of Summit; L. HARDEN and P. MARSH of Chicago and the sons, Fred and William of this city. Twelve children knew his as grandpa.

My search continues for background on the Biessel surname, resulting in many deadends. Perhaps a connection with the Bies heritage? I am the 3rd born of Frank A Biessel, one of 5 of Heinrich "Henry" Biessel of the Saginaw/Detroit, MI areas. He was one of 4 born to August Biessel, who reportedly came over to the southern Michigan area from Germany, also served in the franco-prussian war as a Uhlan. It is believed that they originated in the Selasia area of now Poland.

The madien name of Hanora Bies is COLEMAN. Her parents were John Coleman and Mary Hipple. Hanora and Henry Bies had 7 children. I have the names of all their children and who they married for several generations after them. Hanora is my Great, Great, Grandmother. At one point one of the kids married a FARREL and I have an extensive listing of their family as well.

My grandfather was Stanley/Stanislaus/Stanislaw Polak. He came to Texas in 1905 from Damborichie, Moravia/Bohemia. His early career was as a butcher. His children tell me that two of his brothers may have been a doctor and a musician. I have a photograph of him with his parents and two brothers. Could he be related to your Polak?

I'm not sure if you're still looking for information on the Bies family or if this is relevant. My grandmother is Jean Bies, was born in Salem in 1944. My great-grandmother is Magdalen Bies, b. 1910, I believe in Salem. As far as I know, she lived in Salem her whole life.

I am looking for any information about Blanche Bies. She married my grandfather. George Lucker in Levenworth Couny, Kansas on Sept. 16, 1909. They had 4 children, Josaphine (died in infancy), Peter, Henery, and my father Robert. She died march 20, 1919, a month after my father was born.

My husband's Grandmother was Michalina Bies Plecha. She was the daughter of Michal & Kartarzyna Bies. They were from the Krakow area. She emigrated in 1911 and eventurally sellted in Wheeling, WV. She and Michal Plecha were already married when I found them in Wheeling. They may have first settled in Detroit. Let me know if any of this matches with your research.

My great grandmother is Etienne Bies. One of her sons, John Baptist Bies, is my grandpa. He passed away in 1994. My grandma is still living in Salem SD.

Anyone know any Bies' of Milan, MI? My Grandfather's name was John Bies. He had 5 sons, John (my father), James, William (Died in the 60's I think), Dennis, Michael. I know our family immigrated from Poland, but not much more. My Grandfather (John Bies) served in the US Navy. He was born in 1918 and died in 1991.

My maiden name is ADAMCEK. My father's name was Victor H. Adamcek who was born in the area of Osijek, Austria in 1911 and came to the United States with his mother (my grandmother whose first name was Theresa/Teresa/Treska - and whose maiden name was Klemm)in approx. 1913-1914.
