Please see my website http://www.chriswright.id.au and search for BINDON. Happy to hear from anyone connected.

Has Sue's website been relocated now that the free Geocities has gone?

Cheers
Chris

Dear Mr Bindon

I think that I am a distant relative. If your mother was Elizabeth Hynes, then she was the daughter of Albert Hynes, my ggg Uncle. I have done a fair bit of work on Albert and his brother Michael who was my gg grandfather.
I would be very happy to exchange information.
Hope you are still a member etc

cheers
Paul

Abbott Bindone

Found on the 1900 Nolan Co.,Texas census.
Abbott Bindone, grandson, age 1yr., born Jan. 1899 in Texas.
Mother born in Texas, Father born in Italy. This child was living with my gg-grandparents James and Mary Yardley. I am tracing the Yardley family and I would like to know who this childs parents were. Bindone was spelled this way on the census form. It may or may not be spelled right. If this name sounds familiar or is in your family tree, please contact me.
Thank you - Terry

Bindon Family Tree Research

I thought it would be worth me dropping in to say hello. A few years ago I was in communcations with Dave Bindon, Lucas McCaw and Donald Bindon regarding the Bindon family tree research. After a joining of gedcom files I disappeared into the ether as family and work life got in the way.

I'm now back up and running and trying focus towards researching more about the people and their lives than how many I can get on a single chart.

I've started putting some of the information on the Family Tree section of my website http://www.peterbindon.com

Please feel free to get in touch with me.

Peter,
I just found your web site and noted that you had listed The family of James and Jane, (Newton), Bindon. I'm directly connected to that line through John Newton Bindon the first. Actually I'm John Newton Bindon the third. Diane Wilson and I have connected as two sons of William and Ann Nethercott are our GGG Grandfathers. We seem to be stuck at William and Ann though. I have another mystry too, My GG Grandfather John Newton was married twice in England. The second time, after his first wife Ann died, was to a Mary Jane Bailey in 1873. I haven't found any record of what ever happened to Mary Jane. He married for the third time to Julia Ann Johnson Peck. I have the rest if you are interested.
Jack

My cousin and I are working hard on trying to establish who this family were. As things stand at the moment, we have a fair amount of evidence to suggest that Henry Binden came from Thornbury, Gloucestershire. His father was also Henry. We are hoping to examine Thornbury burial records soon, to establish Henry senior's age at death - if our theory is correct, he may well be linked to our family which originally came from Old Cleeve in Somerset. Do you have any information about Eliza's father's occupation? We have details from 1841 census and the marriages of other children which, if they tie-in with Eliza's father, will confirm who her father was. I can send a gedcom of how we think the family fits together if you want. Please get in touch again soon.

Eliza's marriage was just before central registration began - so there will be no birth or marriage certificate for her. However, the parish registers should contain the same information (and are free to look at!). I should have time to look for her marriage tomorrow - that should show her father's name and occupation. If her father's a cheesemonger called Henry then we know we've got the right family. I'll keep you posted.

Yours seems to appear from nowhere in the 1770s.

I have Eliza Ann Binden married to Henry James Marcus/Mark in 1837, in Newington, Surrey. Their son, Alfred Julius Marcus, is my husband's great grandfather. Eliza may have been the daughter of Henry Binden and Mary (?), born 20 Apr 1817, in Southwark. Do you have any records of Bindens in Surrey?

I'm ordering Eliza's birth and marriage records to see if there's anything more about the family on them. From what I've seen on the IGI, I think you're on the right track. I'll let you know what I learn.

Eliza Ann Bindon

I haven't found much of anything, except I think her parents may be Henry Bindon and Mary Ann, who appear to have lived in Southwark, Surrey Co., which is where Eliza Ann's son, Alfred Julius Marcus was baptized (at St. John Horsleydowns). The location is the only reason I've linked her to Henry and Mary Ann.
I have Alfred's birth certificate, which shows her living in Stepney (Middlesex Co.), with her husband and mother-in-law in the mother-in-law's house. Eliza Ann married Henry Marcus/Marks in Newington, Surrey Co. I have not been able to find any other children for her, although a few years after Alfred arrived in New York in 1864, he was in business with Ernest Marcus as Marcus Brothers. Ernest dropped out of sight after 1890.
I'd like to order Henry Marcus and Eliza Ann Bindon's marriage certificate to see if I can get any more information, but haven't done so yet. I noticed on your website that Alfred and Ernest were names used in the family, so I'm pretty sure there's a connection. Would love any information you think might help.

Were you ever able to look at the parish registers for Eliza's marriage? I have a marriage date of 22 Apr 1837, at St. Mary Holy Trinity Church in Newington. You can e-mail me at cookieone@softcom.net, if it's easier to communicate that way.
