tracing Methodist marriages in Nottingham

Surnames: Bingham, Oxpring
I am having great difficulty finding when and where my gt-gt-grandfather James Bingham married his wife Millicent Oxpring. He was probably a Methodist and lived around the Basford area in Nottingham. They should have got married around 1850 but I can't find any trace of it. Is it harder to trace methodist marriages? I have combed Ancestry and the bmd index.
