Marc Joseph Marion,

I'm Thomas F LaClair and by my notes, Anna Sara Lavinia LeClerc (LaClair), your grandmothers line, is the youngest daughter of Francis and Felicite Bisaillon LeClerc. I'm am earnestly trying to determine Francis and Felicite's, parents for certain, myself. I've added some obituary information given to be by Pauline Dechaies of Massena. You might find some of this useful.

HOGANSBURG NEW YORK. Mrs. Leclair, widow of the late Francis Leclair, of this place, died last Saturday. She had been quite feeble this past year. On Friday she suffered a stroke of paralysis, which hastened her death. Mrs. Leclair was 75 years old and was a good neighbor, and lived a good Christian life. She had lived over 50 years in the same house where she died, and was respected by all. Her husband died eight years ago. She leaves four sons: Joseph, of Lawrenceville, Raphel, of Brasher, Lewis, of Cornwall, and Wilfred, who lived at home with his mother; and three daughters, Mrs. H. Hollister, of Cornwall, Mrs. William Bezio, and Mrs. P. Belnapp, of this place. Mrs. Belnapp stayed with her and tenderly cared for her. She was a great care being as helpless as a child. She leaves three sisters, Mrs. N. Moulett, of Cornwall, Mrs. F. Jock, of Michigan, Mrs. M. Peters, of South Dakota; and one brother in Wisconsin; also 35 grand children. Her funeral was held Monday at the R. C. church. Rev. Father Bourchet, of St. Regis, officiated as Rev. M. J. Brown was ill.

Note by Pauline Deshaies: "This is the copy of the obituary for Felicite Bissaillion. The paper was so old it was difficult to save this small piece of paper. She had a sister who married Nelson Mulette. This marriage took place 17 Feb 1874 in Hogansburg. They lived in Cornwall. She had a sister who married F. Jock and lived in Michigan. A sister married M. Peters and lived in South Dakota and a brother, unnamed, who lived in Wisconsin." By Pauline Deshaies October 1994.

Pauline also wrote on this obituary on another occasion and wrote: "Sorry about some of this article being missing but it is so old this is the best I can get. In this write-up it mentions Felicite was living with her daughter, Mrs. P Belnapp. This is another case of a misspelled name. The correct name was Peter Villenueve. When the 1900 census was taken Felicite was still living and she is listed as head of household. Her daughter was Lavinia. (I believe Anna Marie Lavina)." By Pauline Deshaies 27 Oct 1994.

Also, in the Massena Observer Thursday 4 Oct 1900, under HOGANSBURG, it reads: Mrs. Francis Leclair, an aged lady, suffered a stroke of paralysis on Friday and died on Saturday. Services were held at the R. C. church, Rev J. Bourget officiating. Deceased had been in ill health for a number of years and leaves a grown up family of seven children.

15 Jan 2011: Copies of the original obituaries are in the possession of Thomas F. LaClair, son of Henry Rufus LaClair, son of Ernest Treffley LaClair, son of Wilfred LaClair, son of Francis Leclair, husband of Felicite Bezio (Bisaillon).
Marc,

Francis Leclair (Leclerc, LaClair) and Felicite Besaillon (Bezio) are in my direct line through their son Wilfred who married Emma Beaulieu. I'm am searching to verify both Francis and Felcite's parents (for certain). Also, I'd love to see and possibly share what you have on Lavina. I know of her marrying Peter but not much more.

Thanks in advance, Thomas F LaClair

tomlaclair624@yahoo.com
813-465-4692

I live in Val Caron, Ontario Canada. I see you have been in contact with Mike Bisaillon. It is the link to all his work and a complete family tree breakdown. If you can open this page, please let me know.

Thank you
Don

P.S.
hello Mike,

you sure seem to know a lot on Bisailon.

i have recently uncovered a line on my mom's side where her grandmother Lavina Leclair married Peter H Villeneuve in Hogansburg, N.Y.

Lavina Leclair's parents are listed, though not yet confirmed by parish records, .. the possible parents are Francis Leclerc (spelling became anglisized) & wife Felicite Besaillon (?).

The coincidance of Besaillon-sounding names in the same region of Hogansburg caught my eye,

Think there's a correlation>?

here's my contact if you think or know more on Francis Leclerc (Leclair) & Felicite Besaillon;

thank you

dartagnan1962 (at) hotmail (dot) com

Marc Joseph Marion

Trying to confirm some info I got regarding FLAVIA (FLAVIE) BISAILLON. I
believe that she was born somewhere in Canada. There was a witness to her
wedding
in 1862 in New York at St. Joseph's. The name was AMABILE BISAILLON and
Hubert Lanctot. The info I received was that her parents may be AMABLE
BISAILLON and MONIQUE BROSSARD. (There also was a brother named Amable).
Flavia/Flavie married Francois-Esaie Lancto (Lanctot/Loncto). She died
between 1867 - 1870. She was
definately dead in Dec. 1870 as Francois remarried to my
great, great grandmother..and the wedding annoucment indicated that he was a
widower. (Flavia/Flavie was his first wife but not my great great
grandmother) ( Flavia/Flavie and Francis did have three children. Esther,
Phoebe and Esaie, jr.. )

.. I would like to just have some more info date of birth/place and her
parents...
.can anyone help?
Through searches I just made at the "Archives Nationales du Québec" I came across wedding,in Saint-Constant Québec, on 21 Nov 1831: Ambroise Caille and Eleonore Drolet daughter of Jean-Baptiste Drolet and Veronique Bisaillon. Is Veronique B. Jean Baptiste Drolet's 2nd wife as I understand he was married to Marie Hebert on 20 Feb 1775 in Varennes Qué. Would someone be kind enough to unravel this mystery? Thank you.

Hi Fran!
I hate to disappoint you but I am not a Bisaillon, though I am a Belleau. I find your Carrie and Pete in my family files, as Carrie was a sister to my g-grandfather. I would like for you to get in touch with me regarding the names, and birth dates of Pete and Carrie's children as all I have in the way of descendancy for them are two daughters, Addie and Agnes. I can help you with the names of Carrie's parents and sibs. My email: CLeonard12@aol.com Thanks! Lundi
